How To Make Better Decisions

Do you ever feel stuck in indecision, or beat yourself up for making the “wrong” choice? In this episode of the Get Your GOAL podcast, we’re talking about how to make better decisions, without the endless overthinking or doubting yourself, so you can finally move forward.

When you’re ready to take your journaling and mindset to the next level, you belong in the Get Your GOAL membership 👉👉👉

If you’ve ever called yourself “indecisive,” spent hours on pros and cons lists, or told yourself you’re just bad at making choices…friend, you are not alone.

Ambitious women like us often get tangled in our busy brains, trying to find the “right” answer before we let ourselves take action. And then, even when we do make a decision, we end up questioning ourselves afterwards.

Here’s the good news: decision-making isn’t about getting it perfect. It’s not even about being certain of the outcome. It’s about choosing your course of action in a way that feels aligned, and where your thoughts and feelings are actually on the same team.

In this episode, I’m sharing the exact mindset shifts and practical tips that helped me stop dithering, start listening to my inner “hell yes,” and feel good about the decisions I make.

By the end of this episode, you’ll see that there’s no such thing as a universally “good” decision, there are only the decisions that are right for YOU.

This is a great topic but there is a very large proviso to it: If you have feelings that are a result of childhood traumas, your physiologic reaction to a potential decision is not necessarily valid for you as an adult no longer being actively traumatized. For instance if you were taught that to be loveable or even safe from harm, you must always be correct and complete, you will have a VERY hard time making a decision that is not a result of almost endless checking, researching and thinking, in an attempt for that learned safety reaction to allow you to make a choice or take an action, ie make a decision. So there is a HUGE amount of self-work that is needed before your “gut feeling” or “instinct” or whatever you want to call it is actually valid for the you that is now an adult.
