Drinking Too Much Water Can Be Dangerous

Did our ancestors walk around all day with water bottles, sipping nonstop? No — they didn’t.

Yet today, water is constantly pushed on us everywhere we go: restaurants, meetings, gyms, social events. We’re told to drink all day long, regardless of thirst.

Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements.

Don’t get me wrong, water is essential. We can’t live without it. But here’s what almost no one is talking about. When you consume excessive amounts of water, especially after exercise, you can dilute sodium and other critical electrolytes. This creates a dangerous imbalance in the body.

  2. @stuartclark1982 on February 12, 2026 at 11:08 am

I had a friend that did this. They felt very unwell for a long time until their doctor tested for electrolytes and concluded that they had this condition and were effectively just flushing out all the good minerals they need in their body.

Does anyone else still get a sugar craving after eating a meal? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Try incorporating plain organic grass fed Kefir.

    • @113MPG on February 12, 2026 at 1:15 pm

Flavored kefir has up to 35 grams of sugar per cup. Long-fermented, unsweetened kefir has the lowest sugar content.

    • @JeasicaBerlin on February 12, 2026 at 3:48 pm

      Yeah, what causes that? @starkefir57

Errm rivers and streams everywhere?? No need for bottles😂

  9. @raikiri6251 on February 12, 2026 at 11:50 am

Omg thank You for addressing that Dr Berg! Back in high school, they say drink 8 glasses but it never made sense to me because I never wanted to drink that much every single day! Not because I didnt want to, but I never got thirsty to that extent. I only drank as much as I wanted when I got thirsty! I did use bottle but only to keep it close to me so I do not feel lazy to drink when I get thristy.

    • @my3dviews on February 12, 2026 at 4:40 pm

It also ignores the fact that some people are twice the weight of others. So would require different amounts of water.

  10. @robertovillarreal8702 on February 12, 2026 at 11:52 am

I been stressing this to everyone I know for years. When was water in bottles sold like they are today? When I was a kid in the 90s I dont remember going to store and seeing water bottles. Maybe on bottom self in cooler. Now there’s a whole section for water.

    • @HarmlessDevilish on February 12, 2026 at 5:28 pm

Water bottles were popular for bikes and sports in the 90s the ones with the nozzle like you see hockey players use

  11. @crikxouba on February 12, 2026 at 11:56 am

I only drink when I am eating and when I am thirsty. I never bought into the health fads.

    • @elainethomas1894 on February 12, 2026 at 1:28 pm

If you are drinking too much water when you eat, be careful because that dilutes your stomach acid, which is needed to properly digest your food.

    • @ianstuart5660 on February 12, 2026 at 2:40 pm

      @elainethomas1894

      Facts!…❤❤

    • @crikxouba on February 12, 2026 at 2:58 pm

@elainethomas1894I don’t drink too much water when I eat. I only drink when the food I am eating makes me thirsty.

    • @detuquy3037 on February 12, 2026 at 3:42 pm

I heard it is better to drink water 30 minutes before or 30 Minutes after eating. Could someone please verify?

    • @ianstuart5660 on February 12, 2026 at 3:56 pm

      @detuquy3037

Yes, 30 minutes before and more like 1 to 2 hours after depending upon the foods and quantity!

  12. @jaroslawczach4845 on February 12, 2026 at 12:03 pm

  13. @LeoSavantt on February 12, 2026 at 12:15 pm

    • @modilevi6053 on February 12, 2026 at 7:12 pm

Simple solution…switch back to natural animal fats which aid cellular fluid retention, and avoid engineered seed oils which do the reverse.

  17. @babetweirdgirl4103 on February 12, 2026 at 2:30 pm

They forced us to drink water in boot camp, trying to prevent heat stroke in the South Carolina summer. One girl passed out while we were in field training and was convulsing a few minutes later. EMS took her.

  18. @hellonwheels-x8m on February 12, 2026 at 2:32 pm
