I’ve listened to various pro’s methods here on YouTube, and by far, this is a straight cut, simple dry “How to”  explanation of alike professionals as yourself.  One other outstanding pro that I listen to as well is Dr Eric Berg DC.  Both of you rock it!  Thank you!

I started keto in September and I lost a total of 55lbs and tremendous amount of body fat . I was able to get off my beta blockers , blood thinners I am 45 yrs old . Now I can say I feel and look like I am in my early 30s and I am loving it . I do IF, quality foods , stevia .

    • ViXxen on May 24, 2018 at 4:33 am

Gina 2u did you incorporate intermittent fasting along with keto at all?

    • Gina 2u on May 24, 2018 at 1:50 pm

ViXxen yes I did I normally do 16/8 three to four days a week, 24 hour two days .

    • ViXxen on May 24, 2018 at 2:44 pm

Gina 2u ok, good to know. Thank you.

    • wyntersteele1a on February 20, 2019 at 4:22 pm

Stevia also but it tastes so nasty to me. It has a bitter taste much like aspartame….

    • Lew on May 11, 2019 at 11:33 pm

Please tell me what beta blockers you got off of.

  3. Hello Lollie on April 26, 2018 at 1:49 am

I started a keto diet almost exactly one year ago. I also fell into intermittent fasting because I found I was not hungry. I eat generally within a 6 hour window. I have lost 106lbs to date. I was a “keto fanatic” for many months…keeping my carbs down to 5%, protein was 20% and fats were 75%. I recently did some testing and found that many foods that are usually good for you are foods that contribute to my “leaky gut”. (ie. eggs, dairy, mushrooms, wheat & corn ) Because of these new dietary restrictions I found it difficult to eat sufficient amounts of fats. ( I loved my butter and cheese! ). I am now eating more of a “meat and veggies” diet. Using healthy fats as well but I do not concern myself with quantity. I eat till I am full. I am still losing weight. I have noticed many health benefits such as 1) reduced inflammation 2) lower blood pressure 3) more energy 4) greatly reduced knee pain etc. ( The knee pain became a lot less within the first few months of keto as I was no longer consuming inflammatory foods ). I am now walking 3 times a week, doing yoga 3 times a week, doing strength training once a week and doing a fitness workout geared towards improving arthritis twice a week. Love the changes! As I am a previously sedentary 65 year old the thought of high intensity interval training scars the heck out of me! “Quick” type work outs have resulted in injuries in the past and it is not something I am willing to try. I do not doubt its health benefits but it is not for me. Slow and steady with more control is more in my comfort zone. As I gain strength I will re-evaluate this. The one tip I would give people would be to not constantly search for food substitutes. Keep food simple. You don’t necessarily need a substitute for lasagna, or pizza etc. They never taste as good as what you had before…get over it! Be on a quest for recipes that fit with your eating plan and forget the rest. You will grow to love these just as well. Good luck in your journey everyone!

Diane Morrissette I’ve asked is the stationary bike or elliptical machine could be used for HIIT. I’m recovery from hip surgery so I’m looking at ways to get me more motivated but safe.

I do all of this! I do HIIT 3 Times a week, I fast 20/4. I started at 16/8 and when I went to the 20/4 I decreased my body fat way more significantly! I am in the best shape of my life at 45. I am 5 10 and weigh 125 with 13% body fat all because of fasting and HIIT! I finally got back my flat stomach that is also rock hard and super defined arms!

    • Daniel Lee on March 18, 2019 at 3:27 am

You’re inspiring me to incorporate more HIIT into my weekly routines. Keep it up I bet you look and feel incredible!

    • GlennMarshallRocks on April 6, 2019 at 10:41 am

@Ricardo Zapata – with 13% bodyfat, they are hardly a “walking stick”. Abs don’t generally start to appear until one is at 9-10% bodyfat. Very well defined abs don’t occur until one is between 5-6% body fat. One doesn’t start to hit the “walking stick” level until they get below that. So, contrary to your assertion they are very healthy at 13% bodyfat.

Heck, did you not notice that Dr. Zyrowski even complimented them on their success and encouraged them to keep going…? if anyone would have noticed someone becoming too thin, he, being a doctor, certainly would have…

You may want to reconsider what your idea of being too thin or being unhealthy at certain weights is, as currently it’s obviously pretty off.

I’m really glad you mentioned the “bad” sweeteners. Great video Doc 👍🏼Everyone should know that these are neurotoxins to the brain, and that the body doesn’t know what to do with them – much like pesticides and herbicides (used on fruit and veg) 💚

  7. June on November 10, 2018 at 10:44 pm

Hi I’m just starting all that you mentioned. I have been trying the keto on and off for a year. Serious about it now with all the good info and learning my mistakes over time. I’m 5”5 , 56 yrs. and 195 lbs. female. Just started HIIT . At YMCA And really loving it 20- 30 minutes and DONE. 4-5 days a week . And suggestions ? Love your channel. 🙏

I apply all the strategies you have mentioned. I have lost 150 pounds. I am 100 % med free. I am no longer diabetic, my blood pressure and cholesterol levels are normal.
I do supplement with good quality supplements and see a comprehensive chiropractor as well as a massage therapist.
I just turned 58 and look younger and feel like I’m 30. Tons of energy!!!!

Dear Dr.Nick I would like to thank you for showing us in very friendly and professional way the healthy way of living. Enjoy all your videos and tips on health benefits of certain foods, diet ,fasting, exercises and such. Your short and simple explanations speak to me and made me succeed in changing my life style. I did 21 day fast( Dec.3rd to Dec.23rd),went from 100 kg down to 86 kg without any side effects. Cooked my own bone broth, which helped me transition back to normal but good quality foods. On IF now which suits me great, I don’t use any sugars or sugar alternatives, very minimal salt intake, using spices instead, walk about 9-10 km everyday, bake my own “poor man’s bread” with little variations in taste and shapes 🙂 I didn’t introduced HiiT yet, gotta watch your videos since I want to do it properly. Going back to transition from 21 day fast to IF initially I slowly gained about 1.5 kg ( almost 4 Ib) but that stopped and started to go down again this am Dec.29th I was down to 87 kg and eating normal food in 8 hour window. I’m really happy, mentally very alert, sleep really good,no sleepy feeling during the day, have tons of energy, self esteem through the roof, my blood pressure is almost back to very healthy normal ( hope to d/c my Avapro soon) Thank you again and keep up great work. Bob Choina.

I started intermittent fasting 8 months ago, started doing the 16/8 and I lost 45lbs, went from a size 34 waist to a 30. I’m off my BP medications and I feel like a new person, I wanted to do this for my 50th birthday, I needed a change, my health was going downhill and I’ve tried so many other methods to loose weight, intermittent fasting is something I can do for the rest of my life and I’m so thankful for your videos. I’m currently eating only once a day during the week and back to the 16/8 on the weekends. It’s changed my life. Thank you thank you

  13. Joyce Elmer on January 17, 2019 at 11:56 pm

I’m using 12 hr IF and doing a workout during it. Love it. This is only my 4th day on Keto & IF. I already feel so much better.

  14. Francé Grobler on February 22, 2019 at 11:57 am

Hi Doc! Love this. I have been doing this for 6 months and have seen so much progress but I have reached a plateau?? What now! I have been so strict and don’t go off track easily.

  15. Angela Arnesano on March 11, 2019 at 2:57 pm

Hi Dr. NICK, I do all this and I lost 10 kg in 2 months, started on 5/01 hit this goal 8/03. I still have 17 kg to loose but I will continue this lifestyle even after. Great video, very clear explication. Thank you very MUCH! 👍 Angela (Belgium)

Very well presented, clear, concise, great knowledge, thank you for sharing 🙂
I stop sugar 2.5 years ago, doing long fasting 4 times a year last year and now I switched to IF, OMD 4 days a week and 20:4 / 16:8 / 14:10 weekends
HiiT is new for me. I will start it now 🙂
Many many thanks. I wish you all the best!!!

    Great ❤️

  18. IAPC on June 17, 2019 at 5:25 pm

Hi, I love your videos because you’re not too technical. You go straight to the point and we can understand it clearly. I’m on IF. And I feel great. I also reduced the amount of sugar and carbs. Thanks for helping us

  19. Rust R on June 19, 2019 at 7:07 pm

Hi Dr.Nick, great videos as always!!
I’d like to hear your thoughts on this. I’m type 1 diabetic and I cannot exclude carbs from my diet as I frequently have low blood sugar episodes. In my eyes, there’s no way posibble for me to do intermittent fasting for 16 hours.

  20. Kent Jones on July 7, 2019 at 3:32 pm

Hello Dr. Nick! I’ve done all of the listed strategies starting around 8 months ago, except for artificial sweeteners (I don’t use any sweetener). I’ve gone from 220 lbs. down to my current weight of 158 lbs., and I’m six feet tall. I’m currently in the process of toning up and building muscle. I haven’t felt this healthy since my early twenties. I’m currently 55.
