In this video, I’m going to tell you how to sleep better at night. Many people suffer from numerous sleep issues and disturbances, such as trouble getting to sleep, frequent waking to urinate, sleep apnea, and restless leg syndrome.

Vitamin D can improve all of these sleep issues. Not only can it improve sleep quality, but it can also improve gut health and immune function.

Vitamin D works synergistically with magnesium, which improves cramping, restless leg syndrome, heart palpitations, and high cortisol levels. If you're taking magnesium for these issues and it's not working, it could be because you need vitamin D. Vitamin D is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatories.

Sleep, diet, and exercise are vital for your health, with sleep at the top of the list. The nerves in the hypothalamus that control sleep are full of vitamin D receptors. If you’re obese, diabetic, or aging, your need for vitamin D dramatically increases.

Less than 40 ng/mL of vitamin D can negatively affect your health. Vitamin D levels should be between 70 and 100 ng/mL or more for therapeutic benefit.

Blood tests detect the inactive form of vitamin D and can’t tell you if vitamin D is reaching your cells. Try taking at least 30,000 IUs of vitamin D3 for better sleep, and remember to consume plenty of water daily. Cut down on dairy to limit calcium intake and take vitamin K2, magnesium, zinc, and vitamin B6, the cofactors of vitamin D.

For better sleep, try the following sleeping tips:
•Take vitamin D with cofactors at the last meal of the day
•Make sure the room is cool
•Avoid electronics and bright lights 2 hours before bed

    Magnesium Glycinate was the key to my sleep issues. Mind settled down and don’t wake up hourly any longer. Big help.

    Im 16, and im trying to slow down the aging process as much as possible so i can live past 100 years old. Dr. berg, thank you for this information.
    I used to do self-destructive
    behaviors like eat ultra prossed food all the time but then when i found your videos i stop the junk and did keto so I’ve been eating this way since i was 15 and I used to be overweight. Thank you, Dr. berg, your information is changing lives.

    Magnesium oil spray on bottom of my feet and underarms has been a game changer…I no longer dread going to bed, fall asleep quickly and sleep 8-9 hrs. If I wake up up and can’t get back to sleep quickly I use more spray. I can’t tolerate taking much magnesium orally so this has been a Godsend!

      For the past 10 years I’ve been taking Magnesium salt and mixing it with equal parts filtered water and applying it to the bottom of my feet before bed. Not only do I not get Charlie horse cramps any more but I also fall asleep quickly.

      Blackout curtains, not eating within 3 hours of bedtime, and Dr Teal’s Sleep Spray with Melatonin & Essential Oils all help me before bed. I stay asleep unless I drink too much water and wake up to use the restroom.

      Two things that have helped the most with sleep. Magnesium L-threonate and SPM. The SPM eliminates inflammation that can cause low level pain. Too much magnesium L-threonate and you can sleep away the day

    Post menopausal women here: I took magnesium, vitamin d, melatonin, magnesium spray, Epsom salts bath and STILL could not sleep. It was fixed in one night with prednisone. Hormones need a closer look please, Dr Berg. Thank you.

      I’m 70 and we have to be careful of what supplements we take if we are on medications, I learned the hard way taking his magnesium recommendation for sleep, caused awful bowel movements.

    Last night I finally got some good sleep. I am having some health and hormone issues . I upped my fiber , got on thyroid meds low dose , taking magnesium ( a few different kinds now ) , vitamin d with k , b complex , selium, spike protein detox herbs , and some Bach flowers .
    After my root canal is extracted next week. I am having a adxeral tumor removed. Then maybe get on bio identical hormones . Progesterone / estrogen replacement is a huge need in menopause and peri menopause

    No problem falling asleep, but staying in sleep! I wake up multiple times evey night. Havent had sleep without waking up for many many years now. For sure more than 20 years now and im over 40 now.. So Always when i wake up at night, my mind is already racing. Like my thought’s instanly go to all over. And i just cant silence my thought’s at all. I just cant find peace in my mind. And i have tried everyting imaginable and unimaginable tricks. Its like living in a curse.
