Thanks for the idea 💡. No carbs for breakfast?

    • @matprotium1205 on December 29, 2025 at 10:53 pm

Ideally your breakfast should be your biggest protein meal.
So high animal proteins, moderate animal fats and low carbs (50g or less from fruits).
Eating this kind of breafast is better for you than skipping it and fasting all morning.
2 meals per day is ideal (maybe 3 meals at the beginning until your Leptin signaling is improved).
Mainly when it’s not winter you could have your 2nd meal with a bit more carbs in the form of fruits and some root vegetables).

At my work, pre-COVID, we used to have monthly breakfast meetings with a catered continental breakfast (danishes, bagels, muffins, fruit, etc.). I had figured out many years ago that I would crash if I ate anything but protein for breakfast, so I offered to bring hard boiled eggs. The person who ordered the catering thought that was the weirdest thing. I bought the already boiled and peeled eggs – at least one for everyone – and put them in a bowl with tongs. They were completely gone in minutes! Yep, given the option, I think most would prefer protein for breakfast, if not exclusively then at least as part of their breakfast.

I eat hard boiled eggs every day for breakfast too. The best breakfast.

@iot577 I agree! Thank goodness for chickens! 😊

Protein for breakfast is the best option

    • @JulianS-xu6ff on December 30, 2025 at 2:11 am

It is. For me, a protein breakfast lasted me just over five hours. There is no need for tea breaks or refreshments between meals.

I found out as a teenager.
Nobody listened, they are not around anymore.
I have tried in many places in the years to no use, and still not.
I think sugar addiction is a very severe habit.

      Eggs 🥚 🥚 exactly 💯 🏆 ‼️

I always intuitively ate protein for breakfast. Last year I read that Clint Eastwood had salmon & asparagus for breakfast every morning for YEARS…I tried it and was SO amazed at how much energy I had, clear-minded and satiated for HOURS!!!! I added an egg. 😂

    • @katerinalove7704 on December 30, 2025 at 1:53 pm

Would canned salmon work? Except for the salt content maybe it would.

  12. @stacyrynd7110 on December 30, 2025 at 12:05 am

I’ve always disliked carb type breakfast foods, especially on an empty stomach. After I’ve been up a while, I eat some form of broth (homemade) based soup with protein and veggies, plus a couple tablespoons of flaxseed meal. It works.

  13. @margaretfrankiewicz5754 on December 30, 2025 at 12:58 am

One of my dietitians recommended it when she knew my past included keto, and success with weight loss. That was 9 years ago, and no regrets! Manageable blood sugars to date, not perfect, but manageable.

In parts of Turkey, people eat beef or lamb soup with lots of boiled bones, including the marrow for breakfast. But most Turkish people have the trafitional breakfast like fetta cheese, eggs, salami, sucuk (spiced meat you fry or use in toasted sandwiches), honey with cream, cucumbers, tomatoes and most importantly black olives.

However if I’m doing intermittent fasting, then I wouldn’t have any protein for breakfast but rather for lunch

  16. @levimosser747 on December 30, 2025 at 5:45 am

I love fish for breakfast with eggs

  17. @DiscriminateTaste on December 30, 2025 at 6:58 am

Years ago, before work I was standing in line ready to order some breakfast item at Carl’s Jr. (on the West Coast). Noting that the guy in front of me ordered a burger at 7 a.m., I decided to give that a try. My first “breakfast burger.” I couldn’t believe how focused my mind was at work all morning, right up until noon.

I’ve been cutting as much sugar as I can out of my diet, I’m 59, always done weight training, I knew I shouldn’t eat sugary stuff, but I was addicted. I’m going heavy in my weight training now, with very little sugar in my diet, and more into protein oriented meals and snacks. I’m really starting to see big gains, more than I ever have before
