I had to balance my hormones after pregnancy to lose weight. I had become insulin resistant from the weight gain of pregnancy. As awful as that was I believe it has prepared me for menopause.

Maybe not necessarily “harder,” but absolutely SLOWER! Hence why it feels harder.
Patience is key. The aim is to change your lifestyle habits that have proven to be bad for your health and replace it with health supporting habits. It takes time. Weight loss is not and should not be the only goal or even the primary goal. Focus on changing your habits. Good habits will help sustain weight loss much better than willpower alone.
