Why I Eat Cheese Every Day

Find out why I eat cheese every day and why you should too!

1:23 Nutritional benefits of cheese
2:30 Goat cheese and sheep cheese effects on mitochondria
4:07 Other ways to stimulate mitochondrial uncoupling

In this video, we’re going to talk about the health benefits of cheese and the best cheese to eat. Cheese is a great protein source, has probiotic properties, and is low in lactose.

The best cheeses are goat cheese and sheep cheese. These cheeses contain A2 casein, which is easier on your digestive system than lactose. Surprisingly, the oldest people in the world consume sheep cheese and goat cheese!

Cow's milk is around 4% lactose, while cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese vary from 1% to 4% lactose. Goat cheese and sheep cheese are only about .5% lactose. Goat and sheep cheese are higher in protein, vitamin A, vitamin E, folic acid, B vitamins, calcium, and CLA than cow's milk cheese. CLA helps with exercise performance and weight loss.

Around 20% to 30% of the fat in sheep and goat cheese is MCT fat, which is converted directly into ketones. Sheep cheese and goat cheese generate quick energy with little stress on your digestion.

Cheese from animals who graze at higher altitudes is higher in polyphenols. When you introduce these polyphenols to your mitochondria, it triggers an uncoupling effect. This means it generates extra energy, which is effective if you’re trying to lose weight. Polyphenols also stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis.

Research has shown that people who live longest have more mitochondria uncoupling. Other ways to stimulate mitochondrial uncoupling include exercise, cold therapy, fasting, and consuming other polyphenols like sulforaphane, turmeric, and green tea.

I just listened to Dr. Joan Ifland who is against consuming dairy products, but it’s refreshing to listen to you speak about goat cheese. As a Carnivore, I am mostly consuming goat milk now and want to start using goat/sheep cheese too. Thank you, Doc!

    • @albineg on February 6, 2024 at 1:47 pm

It is all about what your individual system reacts to. Type 3 allergies .

Some people can handle halloumi and not regular Gouda. It is not only about the protein but how the protein is processed and digested by the individual system.

    • @SpamMouse on February 6, 2024 at 2:16 pm

Some adult humans can digest milk proteins, so thus of us that can have evolved/adapted to do so – thus it’s natural/normal to do so.

    • @Jay-ep3io on February 6, 2024 at 2:33 pm

    • @jamesalles139 on February 6, 2024 at 4:10 pm

00:00 🧀 Cheese is a great protein source, almost like a probiotic, and low in lactose, making it keto-friendly.
00:26 🐐 Focus on sheep and goat cheese with A2 casein for better digestion, as consumed by some of the oldest people in the world.
01:21 🥛 Sheep and goat cheese have minimal lactose (0.5%), reducing issues with lactose intolerance and providing various health benefits.
01:49 🧠 Nearly 20-30% of fat in sheep and goat cheese is MCT fats, converting quickly to ketones for energy, lessening stress on digestion.
02:16 🌍 Choose cheese from high-altitude locations like the Swiss Alps for increased polyphenols, triggering mitochondrial uncoupling for potential weight loss.
03:11 🏋‍♂ Mitochondrial biogenesis, stimulated by polyphenols, can lead to increased energy expenditure and potential weight loss.
04:05 🌿 Besides cheese, other ways to stimulate mitochondrial uncoupling include exercise, cold therapy, fasting, and phytonutrients from various foods.

  9. @markothwriter on February 6, 2024 at 1:20 pm

aged cheeses also have less lactose. aged cheeses were made that way by europeans to help you digest them. so, gouda, parmesean, aged cheddar

Since he talked about consuming eggs( I love eggs but was afraid because of colesterol) I have as many as I like..around 6/8 every week and feel great expecially when I have eggs at breakfast I feel full of energy all day long. Of course eggs are from my beloved chickens ( I am vegetarian) Therefore I will follow this indication about cheese…that I love being Italian ….

I tried organic raw grass fed cheese about a 8 months ago. The taste was different but I really like it! I also have tried goat cheese and of course it has its own taste too.

I’ve been eating as much organic foods as I can unfortunately where I live the source is limited. Organic tastes so much better!

  17. @lisaaugustine7006 on February 6, 2024 at 2:33 pm

I eat the Kerrygold Irish grass fed butter and have discovered they also offer cheese in the specialty cheese area near the deli (it took me a few trips to find it) at Walmart. It’s so good! But I will now be looking closer for some other options 😊 Thanks Dr.Berg.
And just a note that the grass-fed from New Zealand has been sold to china.
Stick to Kerrygold, in case you were curious or wondering.
    Blessings in health everyone! ❤

I stopped eating cheese a few years ago for quite a longer time cause I got addicted. And because I only bought the good organic stuff, it was too expensive for me. It can be really an addiction, it was so hard to not buy it. Now I try to buy and eat it sometimes…. greetings from Germany 😊
