In this video, we’re going to talk about what to eat to support the health of your arteries. First, let’s take a look at the foods and substances that can lead to heart disease in the first place.
Heart problems begin in the endothelial layer of your arteries—the permeable membrane that lines your vascular system and lymphatic system.
Inflammation is induced when the endothelial layer of your arteries is exposed to the following:
•Stress
•Sugar
•Refined carbohydrates
•Seed oils (canola, soy, corn)
•Chronic alcohol use
•Chronic smoking habits
The Coronary Artery Calcification Test (CAC test) and the Heart Rate Variability test are excellent predictors of mortality by assessing damage in your cardiovascular system.
You can also measure the small-dense particle size of LDL, test your homocysteine levels, and test for the MTHFR gene.
Fortunately, there are foods that can help clean out your arteries and undo cardiovascular damage.
Here are nine foods that can unclog and support the health of your arteries:
1. Omega-3 from salmon, sardines, other fatty fish, and cod liver
2. Extra virgin olive oil
3. Dark leafy greens
4. Authentic parmesan cheese (Parmigiano)
5. Nutritional yeast (non-fortified)
6. Raw sauerkraut
7. Almonds
8. Liver
9. Grass-fed red meat

Thanks for watching! I hope you’ll incorporate these foods into your diet to keep your arteries clean and healthy. I’ll see you in the next video.
Thank you for all your hard work Dr Berg!🙌
If it’s from the CDC or WHO, you’re probably better off following the opposite advice.
Glad to help!
He’s not even a real doctor lol
@@SupermanOG he is a real doctor. I guess you mean not a MD. There are many kinds of doctors.
@@diane2413 the majority of people understand doctor to mean an MD/physician especially with regards to healthcare/medical stuff.
The average person coming across his videos will assume he’s a qualified MD doctor which he isn’t.
I took your advice and haven’t been overtraining as much as I used to, but I have recently added ¼ tsp of real salt before bed, and my sleep has improved ALOT! I might kick off tomorrow with a teaspoon or so of cold-pressed Currant Seed Oil on my broccoli Sprouts 🙂 Thanks a bunch, Dr. Berg!
Awesome! I was just thinking about electrolyte balance. And of course depending on our personal health conditions it can be like a maze, figuring out what’s best for us personally. Like you, I’m thankful for Dr. Berg who sheds light, and helps the public with some direction. Thank you for sharing this. I still have a lot to figure out because of my own conditions. God bless, and I wish you well on your health journey.
I’m going to try that, my insomnia is awful.
You drink this in water?
I’ve been using Redmond Real Salt for almost a year now.
I use it in food, and ferments,
It’s has made a huge difference in my physical well being.
Absolutely never going back to “white table salt”!
@MzladyGrinn I use pink himalayan salt, I also bought dr bergs baja salt, haven’t used it yet
I just wanted to say: for 2 years I’ve had foot arch pain that has made me irritable and not as mobile as I’d like. I watched this doctors video with the reverse stretch and it’s literally given me a new life. I’ve been doing it for about a month, every day, sometimes a few times a day and I can now go on long walks with my young kids again without any foot pain! I’m hoping to introduce jogs then running again soon. I can’t thank you enough Dr Berg, from a fan in Australia!
Also look into wide toe box shoes. They fixed my platar fasciitis for good
Thanks Dr. Eric my mom just had triple bypass at 65 and I’ve doubled down on my heart health and my heath in general. Been watching you for couple years and really love this channel keep doing what you do we all Love you and the information you share!
Good on you. I work in a cardiac department which has certainly made me double down on my own heart health, NYE blowout notwithstanding!
Thank you Dr. Berg! I had a heart attack on October 29, 4 stents inserted and now recovering from double bypass. I was surprised as I lost 30 pound, eliminated sugar, carbs, intermitted fasting and was active! Hoping to recover soon as I am not as active and unable to work.
It appears Hormones can also be a trigger. Look it up
My brother recently had a bypass surgery just at 49 years old. He was lucky it was caught on time. He’s smoking and has bad eating habits. Even after the surgery I shared many information that you provided, he still can’t make a change. I’m fear that it will come back later 🤦♀️
There’s little chance you can change him, I tried the same with my father who has heart issues and no success, and with other people in other areas of life, in general it’s hard to convince people to take healthy steps or improve their life if they don’t want it or don’t care about it, the rate is usually 2%, that shouldn’t stop you though, it’s your brother
Addictions destroy our lives and people must WANT to change and develop disciplines/accountability networks to have a chance.
@@WilliamFlueryThe processed food most of us eat is damaging and addictive. Most people don’t know what they’re eating
The planet is overpopulated 🤷🏻♂
@@glenmaragon5201 Wow!!!!
I started my journey almost 4 weeks ago by taking your advice with fresh food and 18:6 intermittent fasting. The results have been physically and mentally extremely positive due to having that knowledge, thanks to you! I have lost 15lbs so far and I will continue this life-long journey. I tried eating healthy earlier this year, but it was the intermittent fasting that my body needed as well. Quite a bit of the foods on this list is what I consume, so that’s a great sign. Let’s all hope for a successful New Year in 2024 and I hope to share my results when the time comes!
Dr how can you balance not slowing down your metabolic rate when fasting as naturally it slows down due to not working it due to fasting?
Congratulations! I started keto and IF a couple years ago. Life changing for sure!
Good effort. Keep it up, mate. And happy New Year.
That sounds like a good achievement. May I ask about the 18:6 diet? Do you do this daily?
I would love more info on this. Many thanks and Happy New Year.
@-______-______- Currently, I’m intermittent fasting 18:6 daily. Once I reach my goal weight, I’ll probably change that. Time will tell though
1 Omega 3 fatty acids from cod liver, sardines, fatty fish
2 olive oil
3 leafy greens
4 parmigano cheese
5 non-fortified nutritional yeast
6 sauerkraut
7 almonds
8 liver
9 red meat
Worth learning more about this
Worth eating more about this 😂
Cayenne pepper should be on that list
I also add curcumin with piperine.
Thank you 🎉
Thank you very much Dr.Berg. I really appreciate your honesty and empathy for other humans. You’re helping us to understand our bodies, and how to keep healthy as there is an overwhelming amount of information out there these days, which is probably on purpose to confuse us. Also Doctors are expensive to visit in Ireland (like everything else 😅) and then it feels kind of rushed when you get there because they’re so busy. I get all my information from you. Thank you so much. ❤
You saved my life, Doc. I’m glad to see your evolution over the last few years like we all are. Pleasure to continue to make your acquaintance. Enchanté ! ❤
This is amazing information, Dr Berg. That’s why I stopped watching the telly and trusting politicians years ago. It’s good to know that taking the right foods, supplements and practising good habits is fundamental for our health. Knowledge is power. I’m so grateful for all your time and dedication to provide substantial advice and support. Thank you for raising awareness 🙏🏻
Thank you for all this relevant information, Dr Berg. Your videos have been helping me to recover from dysautonomia/pots due to long covid. I’m so grateful and appreciate your time, dedication and empathy helping so many people worldwide. Love from the UK 🙏🏻 🇬🇧
I have Post Covid Long Haul Syndrome, too. If you’d like to trade self-treatment protocols, feel free to reply.
Remember just say NO to 💉
FYI- He isn’t a real dr
@@SupermanOG FYI a “doctor” is not only physician
@@SupermanOG a chiropractor is a licensed health care professional who treats pain disorders (such as back and neck pain) of the musculoskeletal system through the manual adjustment or manipulation of the spinal vertebrae to correct nervous system dysfunction. They are also taught how human body works and the fact that he’s been doing research backed by scientific evidence dedicating his time and effort helping millions of people worldwide makes him an honourable human being instead of gaslighting and trolling around.
Dr Berg, I’ve been following you for a few years now and I always appreciate the work you put into your presentations.
Concerning Almonds, would soaking them and then removing their protective covering resolve some of the concerns you raise?
I have seen information that claims it increases their efficacy by as much as 400%.
Interested in your thoughts on this.
Keep up the GOOD work.
Such an important video especially to wrap up 2023. Thank you, Dr. Berg, for keeping the world healthy.
Thank you Dr. Berg! I do so many things on this list, learning from you and all the other great Drs. out here! I swear eating 2 tablespoons a day of Sauerkraut keeps my gut healthy along with all the organic whole food vitamins I take recommended by ny practitioner’s 😊 Happy New Year 🎉🎉
I had 3 strokes from smoking and eating like crap at 45. Luckily I got a second chance to take care of myself better. Thank you for posting all this. It’s very valuable information!!
Good on you. A lot of people don’t bother and stay in denial after an MI, stroke etc. Good luck, mate.
Took the covaids vaccine didn’t you…
Congrats to you!
3 strokes and….. SECOND chance?
@@forester057 oh yes – I bet he did – it is well known “side effect”
Thank you Dr Berg, for all your honesty in helping us get healthy. You are truly the only Dr I trust. I am healthier, because of you! Happy New Year! Much love to you and your lovely wife Karen❤
Definitely been looking into getting back into a healthy eating routine and am reassured with some of my choices with some of your suggestions here. I prefer lean red meat over the heavily sought after fatty red meat, so that is a plus for me!
Dr Berg is like a god guiding us with the best practices.Very greteful to you Dr. for the amazing work you are doing .
Understanding the science behind every problem makes us take care of ourselves better.👍
Logical and to the point. Great list of dos and dont’s Thank you!
