    CPAP + melatonin

Seriously, I did a sleep study & discovered I have sleep apnea. Did you know that neck size is a good indicator that you may have sleep apnea? Yep! If you’re carrying your weight around your neck (double chin), you might have sleep apnea.

I couldn’t get used to the CPAP at first, so I started taking melatonin. *literally* just got home from my sleep doctor follow-up, and he’s on board with the melatonin.

Point is, if you *literally* can’t sleep, you might want to talk to your doctor because it might be more than just insomnia.

I want to tell you what my wise mom told me when I was a child, she was so smart! I would come downstairs and say “Mommy!!! I can’t fall asleep”…because I would toss and turn stressing over the fact that I had to go to sleep.. and I wasn’t falling asleep. And she said to me “that’s okay don’t worry about it.. it’s okay if you don’t fall asleep as long as you go up to bed and just rest….just close your eyes and rest and it’s just as good as falling asleep!” And honestly, that did the trick because once I knew I didn’t have to fall asleep it took the stress away and lo and behold… I would always fall asleep.

Just another comment I want to leave. I’ve always gotten only about six or seven hours of sleep every night. And since my husband passed, my sleep pattern changes occasionally…stressing about things that need to be done or things I’m worried about, since he was my voice of reason and now it’s all me! So I keep a pen and pad next to my bedside and when things are rolling around in my head and keeping me up I write these things down with the intent of looking at it the next day or sometimes it helps me think of a solution and I just write it down quickly just to get it out of my mind and it seems to help take it away even just for the night so that I could fall asleep..

I’ve had insomnia most of my life, Summer is hardest on me. I go to bed, lie there awake & then toss turn all night.

Yes definitely my 17 yr old son not making best choices & I take care of my 13yr old autistic daughter & my daughter gets up early , so I get up early to get my workout done & I have to hurry so she don’t destroy her room making messes. So I’m exhausted before the day begins Ugg😩
