Greetings, I wake up early enough to exercise but seems I just can’t never push myself to do it…and after watching this video…getting up from drinking my coffee and walking towards my elliptical, no more excuses. I need my brain, need to stop “eating it” …❤thank you Dr. Eckberg. .

    • @drekberg on March 29, 2024 at 10:27 am

Thank you @l.b.3152. That’s awesome. Good for You. 😄

    • @itsmelaura1533 on March 29, 2024 at 5:58 pm

I was the same way. I would tell myself I needed coffee first, now I tell myself no coffee until I do my exercises! It is amazing how much better I feel when I do my exercises first thing in the a.m. It seems to set my day out right and flows throughout the day.

As a former competitive powerlifter, I know all too well how positive exercise can be. Now, at 73, I teach Zumba and Zumba toning….Cardio combined with weight bearing exercise. Thank you for this video. ❤

Bravo Dr Sten. 65 y/o, I’ve lost 22 pounds 232>210 in 5 weeks by cutting out sugar (soda, chocolate), began eating whole foods greens, lean meats (cut out processed foods, fried foods), with intermittent fasting, my body moves better now to do daily longer walks 3-4 miles/day and overall just much more satisfied with myself and not hungry. Thank you for all your nutritional content and now this video which convinces me the reason why my attitude about my health has improved. Getting back into Resistance training and yoga is next for me. In about 3 months I’m due for another blood test and will be curious how it will compare to the previous one. Thank you for all you do.

    • @drekberg on March 29, 2024 at 11:14 am

Thank you @SportsKnowItAll11. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain the principles and mechanisms of health in such a way that you start gaining an understanding and respect for the miracle that is the human body. I spend so much time on it because when we get “the why” and start owning the mechanisms we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄

    • @JennWatson on March 29, 2024 at 11:52 am

      The ‘why’ is very important!
      Thank you Dr Ekberg!

  9. @annmckeever5523 on March 29, 2024 at 11:03 am

I decided a year ago to remove all distractions and make exercise and proper eating with fasting my priority and my way of life. I was quite athletic for much of my life but then I allowed life to get in my way. It is a wonderful experience to prioritize the things that matter most. I’ll be 70 soon and my goal is to die healthy many years from now! Thanks Dr. Ekberg! You are an amazing teacher and you ARE making a big, big difference in the world!

I started IF and exercising two months ago to get ready for my husband’s Honor Flight next month. He has cancer and the thought of pushing a wheelchair around the sites of DC was daunting. If he’s going to have the best experience, I (56y/o and 4’11”) need to be able to physically make that happen for him (78y/o 178lbs) I feel sooo much better, so much stronger than I did two months ago. Plus I dropped my belly fat ! I went from 107lbs to 101!! 🎉

    • @mares3841 on March 29, 2024 at 11:57 am

      Rent a motorized wheelchair!!

    • @Pops2 on March 29, 2024 at 12:18 pm

Try to find and become comfortable with a very high quality wheelchair. One that is comfortable, light weight, space grade lubricated bearings, inflated large rear tires, etc. Walk backwards with the chair through doors and down ramps, and through busy crowds. D.C. is pretty flat. Use cabs for the long treks across the mall or to Arlington. Love DC. Enjoy.

I exercise 6 days a week I mix it up so I never get bored.Getting started is the hardest part

  16. @traceyarnaud8433 on March 29, 2024 at 12:28 pm

I broke some ribs hiking on a trail. It was so painful that I barely moved for 6 weeks. I couldn’t believe how quickly my health collapsed. My mental health was also affected. I am 66 and have always exercised so seeing the results of my sloth was frightening! I’m back to hiking in the forest near my home and the difference between moving in fresh air and vegetating on the sofa is extreme! Move people, move 😂

  18. @HeatherHasGame on March 29, 2024 at 1:14 pm

This is probably my favorite video you have ever made. Some really exciting ideas. I joined a gym and started working out with a personal trainer about 6 weeks ago, because I had no idea what I was doing and never deliberately exercised in any consistent way or with proper form. I am absolutely obsessed with it now. My body has changed a lot already and emotionally I feel better than I ever have before in my life. I had no idea what I was missing before, and I couldn’t afford to do this before but now I can so this has just been so amazing for me. My husband is also doing personal training. We love it. Very cliché but definitely wish I had been doing this my whole life instead of only just now. But you live and you learn 😅

  19. @Deeoj7lz on March 29, 2024 at 2:12 pm

This is true. I’ve been exercising 4 to 5 times a week for an hour for the last 12 years when I turned 50 because I started to notice weight gain. Didnt change my diet which wasn’t horrible but included potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Every year gained approximately 3 lbs. Fast-forward to Jan 1st, 2024. I gained 30 lbs over 12 years. I was never overweight my entire life and very active generally but now 2 lbs above my healthy weight category. Exercise probably helped me not gain 60 lbs but it never helped me lose weight. Jan 1st started Keto, intermittent fasting, cut out alcohol, took ACV/lemon juice, a few extended fasts (72, 36, 48hr) and today I’m down 25 lbs wth 5 more to reach my 48 yr old weight goal. All body inflammation gone, mental clarity unbelievable and energy excess! I wouldnt have believed it was possible. Thanks Doc!!!

    • @Tony-rf1vo on March 29, 2024 at 5:25 pm

Great…Do you still exercise ….or just keto?
