Good timing, in 2 hour, I will achieve 48 hours of fasting
Congratulations 🎉
Pięknie- powodzenia 👊
Good for you! I imagine that you do not work as a bricklayer!
Respect. Good luck.
You got this!
I noticed when I started eating low carb I started feeling better. No way im going back. Sugar no no no
I feel good on high carb (180cm, 60 kg)😁
you are wrong.😂😂
@@harmzijlstra7328
Everyone feels good on high until..
I 100% agree
Agave sounds natural and healthy, but this video really opened my eyes — it’s even worse for the liver than sugar!
Do you drink any alcohol?
@@loganwolv3393there is a Type 1 diabetic on YouTube that did a video about how different alcoholic drinks spiked his blood sugar. Straight bourbon has less sugar and carbs than mixed drinks, the yeast ate the grains, and the oak barrel adds more flavor without adding a bunch of sugar. See the Howtown video about alcohol safety, moderate drinking is likely safer than driving 10 thousand miles a year, for most. Especially if your ancestors lived where people drank alcohol for thousands of years and are more adapted for it. Asian people may have the genetics to get sick from just one shot of alcohol.
@@loganwolv3393No
@@loganwolv3393 Never mind, with Agave you can develop a non-alcoholic fatty liver.😂😂
Brilliant explanation on how fructose and glucose impact the body differently. Now I understand why agave can silently worsen metabolic health.
one of my favorite tea drinks changed their sweetener to Agave Syrup and I stopped drinking it because I new the fructose to glucose ratio was off the charts
Fructose is the bad one, much worse for your liver than glucose. Both should be limited to avoid diabetes in your 40s or older.
I found Stevia to be a superior substitute 🤝
Xyzltol is way nicer tasting and only need a 3rd of the amount than stevia.
@@Wil_DsenseXilitol is also an ultra processed food, so stevia is better 🤷🏾♀️
❤ Sugar is just like a cheap bad street drug that messed up so many people’s lives Thank you Dr.Ekberg ❤
Ha, I don’t need a replacement, stopped using sugar all together without needing anything else.
Over a year ago I did your 30-day challenge to not eat sugar. Thank you. It was a life altering experience. I actually extended it to 45 days because I had lab work then. ALL my labs improved. My doctor was shocked. It sent me down the wonderful rabbit hole of healthy living/life style. I’m 69 and living pain free, getting stronger, and loving the way I look.
Thank you for sharing! I was doing the same, but slowly let sugar creep back into my diet. You’ve inspired me!
@@lisaware9697if I want something sweet (after my big meal of the day) it’s homemade (by me) and I use allulose. It’s not as sweet as stevia, but satisfies my addiction. I eat one small piece(two bites) and I don’t feel out of control or deprived. We don’t keep bread or tortillas, rice or potatoes in the house either. They are pure glucose.
I love the deeper understanding you make possible… thank you.
Agave would be the last of my choices .
Fasted yesterday (24h). Omad now.
Fasting is the GOAT.
I’m super grateful to Dr. Ekberg and other knowledgeable content creators who helped motivate me to cut out unhealthy sources of carbohydrate.
Dr Sten, could you educate us about allulose please?
Dr. Ekberg says agave is not a good sugar substitute, especially for people with pre-existing health conditions.
High Fructose Content: While table sugar is 50% glucose and 50% fructose, agave is around 80% fructose [09:43].
Metabolic Impact: Glucose can be used by every cell in the body, but only the liver can metabolize fructose [03:57]. An overload of fructose can lead to the liver converting the sugar into fat (triglycerides), potentially causing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and insulin resistance over time [04:51].
Misleading Glycemic Index: Agave has a low glycemic index of 25 [10:05], which is often a reason it’s marketed as a good substitute. However, Dr. Ekberg argues that this is misleading because while it doesn’t directly raise blood sugar, its high fructose content can still lead to elevated blood sugar levels indirectly by causing insulin resistance [07:33].
Dr. Ekberg advises that people who are insulin resistant, pre-diabetic, have a fatty liver, high triglycerides, or a high-sugar/sedentary lifestyle should avoid agave [11:30], [11:48], [12:16]. For metabolically healthy and active individuals, a small amount might be an acceptable alternative, but it is not a universally “good” sugar substitute [13:40].
Who else just randomly found Dr. Sten Ekberg videos one day and had been watching ever since? 🥰🤷
I’ve been sugar free since 2018 for me to get up in the morning and walk in a bakery to get coffee.
SuA nurse said to me over the phone what ever you do never again let doctors give you a shot for pain….. she also told keep away from younger doctors. Come to find out My eye doctor said that steroids effects cataract and glaucoma after that my cardiologist the shot can worsen your heart problems. I remember that Nurse because she said that she following Dr.Ekberg advice and he’s have a good methodical speaking voice. I wish more doctors listen to
