What I Ate In a Day to Lose Weight – 30kgs

Hey Guys ❤️, I have been asked a lot what I actually ate to lose weight and so I filmed a typical day of eating when I was going through my weight loss journey. I worked on reducing portion sizes and snacks and making some easy swaps but didn't track or cut any foods out! I hope this gives you a few ideas, let me know if you would like another similar video with more of my favourite meals from this time!

Can’t wait to see how similar your diet is to mine, I’ve already lost 12 kilograms since August following a mediterrean style diet supervised by a nutritionist! Would love to see and learn different dishes and learn about their nutritional content, would you consider making a video with maybe your 5 fav. lunch and dinner recipes? Love you, keep up the amazing work 😍😍

    • Holly Stalham on November 22, 2020 at 9:49 am

@Alka Singh Its a traditional mediterranean diet. I make sure to include lots of veg and fruit with all of my meals, a piece of lean protein and carbs only in the morning. So a typical day might be toast with olive oil and coffee, a fruit mid morning, a vegetable omelette and slice of turkey breast for lunch, yoghurt and nuts or seeds mid afternoon, and vegetable puree o soup for dinner with another protein, probably fish. However all of this is supervised by a professional nutritionist who makes sure I’m getting all the necessary nutrients and types of food every week. One of my favourite tips of hers is to make sure my plates are full of colour, and to minimize the amount of food I eat directly from the packaging as it normally contains too many additives and conservatives. I hope this helps!

That’s amazing! Sometimes working without a specialist gets you to your goals way faster than trying to figure things out on your own. Your food looks amazing!! I’m DEFINITELY making that Penang chicken tomorrow 🤤 although I can’t imagine eating such a small portion, for that or any dinner 🙈 but I’ve reduced lunches, snacks and takeaway orders, which was where I was really going mad and it’s working away slowly! Thanks for all your great content 💕

    • Lucy Lismore on November 25, 2020 at 10:22 am

Hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much, I know what you mean I always love big portions but I realised I was eating far more than my body actually needed. Slowly but surely make changes and it’s so much easier like you said! Good luck and thank you for the support ❤️

Love your content Lucy! Trying the panang chicken this week 🙂 Would definitely love to see some more recipes – I’m 15 lbs down, but still have a way to go, and I’m fed up with what I’ve been eating for the past couple of months!

Hi Lucy, thank you for sharing this video with us and also starting up your own fitness channel. After watching this video, I was wondering if you made sure you consumed a certain amount of protein per day (since it seems like the foods you ate in this video were relatively low in protein aside from chicken at dinner and maybe the oats at breakfast)?

    • Divya Joseph on November 6, 2021 at 10:18 pm

I had this same concern while watching this video. Her breakfast and lunch in this video were very low protein. I am hoping she made up for her daily protein needs with the dinner. Cutting a bunch of foods out might get you to lose the weight but make you lose out on other vital nutrients you need as well. Not trying to patronize. Just voicing a concern for the sake of her well-being and that of her viewers. For anyone watching this, I recommend consulting a dietician for how to create well-balanced meals for weight loss.

Such a great video!!! I need to lose 15kg after 5 kids.. I’ve definitely been having too much care. I reduced my meal sizes recently and am seeing steady loss. I’m on 69kg for 2 weeks now instead of my previous 74kg for past 2 yrs. Yay. Thanks for giving me more tips and showing me what I’m doing is probably right. Loved the carrot cake oats BTW!! Yummy

  13. Ashleigh Wardell on February 17, 2021 at 11:44 pm

A little tip about the light coconut cream! The only thing different about the “light” and regular version is added water. So go ahead and get the regular version if you want and add water to make twice the amount of light coconut cream! You could double the recipe or just have some coconut cream left over for another recipe 🙂

    • Maya on March 7, 2021 at 2:42 am

I’ve heard that “light” and “low-fat” actually has more sugar. Better to use full-fat.

    • antoinette158 on March 10, 2021 at 7:17 am

      Thank you for this tip!

    • bubblebuffy on May 27, 2021 at 6:16 pm

Thanks for this! I find the different kinds of coconut milk and cream to be a bit confusing 😅

    • sg on August 10, 2021 at 8:48 am

@Maya it depends on the thing. Its always good practice to have a look at the calories instead of just buying the light version cause thats a much better indication

    • Mina on September 5, 2021 at 3:59 pm

@Maya I think it’s generally a good idea to check the ingredients of canned goods. Sugar is often added to canned things when it’s not really necessary (or you could add it yourself later, if need be). Obviously canned stuff usually needs some sort of stabilizers and preservatives, but there’s usually no reason for there to be added salt or sugar anyway.

But in general, that is very true. The “fat phobia” that started a few decades ago is still here in full force, but people forget that you either get flavor through fats or added sugars, so yeah, you end up with “low fat” versions that are insanely high in sugar instead.

Today I tried your dinner recipe and it was very tasty, thanks! 😊
Oh and I also did the banana with peanutbutter and cinnamon and it was deliciousss!

Hi Lucy, great video, very informative and aligned to how I’m trying to eat currently. If there are more recipes you can share I’d appreciate it (I particularly struggle with dinners), you are inspirational in the journey you’ve been on and also big thanks for sharing the highs and lows on Insta.

Just found your channel and love how this “what I eat in a day” is actually sustainable!! I made the Penang chicken with tofu and it was absolutely amazing! Love all of this! ❤️

Hi Lucy, I loved your lunch suggestion, I tried it with toast today and it was DELICIOUS! My cherry toms were so sweet and the avocado worked so well together… thank you 😁🙌 any other quick meals that you could share?🤔 all I keep making is soups, which are great but its nice to take a bite into something sometimes, if you know what I mean…💖
