Even though transitioned from keto to carnivore quite some time ago, I still enjoy watching Dr. Berg’s videos. Always informative. Ah, I remember how much I loved guacamole!

    • Lorena McGovern on February 24, 2023 at 5:11 pm

I’m carnivore except for avocados and olives.

    • Mit C on February 25, 2023 at 5:58 am

I did carnivore about 4 years ago for 3 months. It got rid of all sorts of intestinal issues I was having and haven’t returned.

@gibby jones Hawaiian papaya was the best tasting thing I have ever
      Eaten

    • mejseln on February 25, 2023 at 5:36 pm

Hi Mr Rationality, I responded to your respons to Anna Monroe. I there also had the question: WHY did you quit keto and go carnivore?

    • The Religion of Rationality on February 25, 2023 at 5:49 pm

@mejseln After awhile, on keto, I simply lost interest in eating plants. And the fewer I ate, the better I felt. Also, all of my inflammation problems (chronic sinusitis and bronchitis, and some skin issues too) completely disappeared. But, like I said, it was mostly because I just stopped wanting to eat plants once I was no longer ingesting carbohydrates. I never actually intended to go carnivore; it just kind of happened naturally.

Thanks for the info Dr Berg 🌸 I like guacamole too. I actually make avocado hummus (my recipe) 😅 in which I mix peeled sliced avocados with half a cup of tahini, garlic cloves, lime juice, salt and coriander (cilantro) in the food processor to a puree, and use it as a dip with keto crackers.

Thank you Dr. Berg. You are my go to for all things concerning health. I had a mammogram this past Monday and to my dismay it came back BIRAD4 for a suspicious mass. I’ll be having a biopsy on 3/3/23. I’ve already started to apply everything you recommend to get healthier in hopes of shrinking that tumor before the biopsy. If there is malignancy, I plan to do the 21 day water fast like Fred did. I have watched your interview with Fred three
times and it helps calm my anxiety. I will do everything I can to help myself before resorting to mainstream medical torture. I hope Fred is still doing well. ❤

    • DD H on February 25, 2023 at 11:32 am

@Deborah Rose Fistner No biopsy? I’m considering delaying it. May I ask why you suggest that?

Turkey tail tea or capsules help rid body of tumors. All mushrooms have anit cancer properties. You should eat an assorted mix mushrooms everyday. Check out Dr Joel Fuhrman for more info.

Dr Berg, thank you… like truly. Thank you so much. Yes, this info on guacamole is SUPER as now I have an argument for my case of eating this so often 😂 but seriously…thank you for everything you do. I begin listening to you some years ago. You seem very genuine, very caring. No one is going to do the amount of research then put notes together too for others just for clout. You rock! I pray God in Heaven keeps you safe and blessed.

Canned or fresh Jalapeños even healthier. Canned do have vinegar which is not bad.

I have to say that some minor changes to my diet changed my life. IE cutting out wheat, corn, processed foods etc. It has dramatically reduced the pain in my joints, something my doctor just shrugged his shoulder at and called it ageing “You’re no longer 18 years old, it is to be expected” he said .

    • Seattle Six on February 24, 2023 at 2:49 pm

The doctors statement isn’t surprising given the upside down food pyramid… several industries are making lots of money from it. Now there’s groups claiming obesity is not harmful (?) Just seems carefully complicit given the role diet plays

    • Patti Bond on February 25, 2023 at 1:05 am

I’ve been doing 2-3 avocados a day for 6 weeks on keto (mashed with Redmond real salt and Fresh squeezed lime juice) and all my bio markers have drastically improved. Blood pressure fell from 159/96 to 117/71. It’s my favorite food. I just eat it with a spoon.

    • Aaron Kubach on February 25, 2023 at 4:42 am

@Andrew Rivera I have been mixing that with mine as well with ghost chili for a long time.

    • Joanne B. on February 25, 2023 at 4:50 am

Avocados are $4 each where I live so it’s rather impossible to eat 2-3 per day.

Avocados are 5 for $3.48 I believe at Sam’s Club near me.

Hey Dr Berg, I LOVE guacamole! Thank you for the recipe. I’ve been eating an avocado 🥑 everyday with my six eggs, but now I will have it with guacamole. I follow your diet, lost 60lbs so far and when friends say how? I tell them to watch your videos. 😊 Thank you for all your research.

@Z S Dr Berg eats 4 a day and has spoken about how they do not contribute to high cholesterol, it’s carbs, processed foods, the wrong oils and sugar that do that. Jason Fung talks about it too.

  18. Nita Riggs Samuels on February 24, 2023 at 6:40 pm

Oh yes, an avocado video—awesome Dr. Berg! Last year I even wrote my own avocado Q&A post for my website! This may sound crazy, but I love calling avocados super-food jewels. Why?

    1. Because I learned how they’re not only rich & creamy, but packed with disease-zapping phytochemicals and monounsaturated healthy fats. Avocado’s such an amazing food!

    2. And I’ve gotta be honest–the more I learned about the jawdropping health perks of avocado, the more my eyes rounded. I couldn’t help but wonder how something this delectable could be so doggone great for us!

    3. Oh–one of the biggest shockers I learned about these creamy treasures–they’re bursting with both soluble and insoluble fibers. It’s wild how this dreamy treat is a top source of fiber–I guess since avocados are so silky smooth, I never thought about grouping them in the “help keep my colon clean PLEASE” fiber club.

Thank you so much for this waay cool video!!

“Nowadays in the grocery store, unfortunately tomatoes are pretty much tastleless”, this is why I love this guy, always speaking the truth and is in touch with reality.

    • Theyorkshirelas on February 25, 2023 at 7:37 am

I agree. I grew my own in the UK last year. Lots of plants! I jarred up many surplus tomatoes. So sweet and juicy when grown at home. There are so many varieties that many can be grown indoors too.

    • John Brooke on February 25, 2023 at 8:10 am

Supposedly, the lack of taste correlates to the lack of nutrition in the soil and commercial farming is all about quantity over quality. You can test this theory yourself by growing your own tomatoes in your backyard or where ever. You will be blown away by how much flavor is in your home grown ones because they were grown in soil that has nutrients in it. In fact, the flavor will probably be too much because many of us are used to the flavorless tomatoes we’ve been eating all these years from the grocery. I’m sure some people here can testify to this. Home grown veggies, in general, pack a punch. The Corptocracy is taking over everything, including farming, unfortunately. The problem with profits over people economic strategies is that they are not good for people as a whole. Monsanto poisons soil in order to kill pests(with Round Up) but ultimately the soil becomes toxic and it turns out that pesticides aren’t good for human consumption, either. Our current system is a bit of a zero sum game. The challenges of the future seem to be largely finding ways to UNDO our own mindless and self manufactured stupidities including poisoning and polluting our own environment. Oddly, we will have to step backward in order to move forward and more importantly survive as a species.

    • Sara Cruze on February 25, 2023 at 4:37 pm

I like to buy the cherry tomatoes.

  20. Weekend Wrenching on February 25, 2023 at 1:30 am

I eat guacamole every day pretty much as part of my keto diet. I make it with red onion and a habanero pepper (no tomato) and sea salt. I’ve lost 59lbs since mid Nov. Down from a 40″ waist to 34″. Your advice is great. Thanks
