What Are the BEST Supplements for Muscle Growth?

What’s the fastest way to gain muscle? Exercise is the most potent stimulus for muscle-building, but these 3 supplements can significantly enhance the effects. Add these 3 muscle-building supplements to your regimen to build muscle fast!
0:00 Introduction: The best supplements for muscle growth

1:20 Overtraining
2:20 Creatine for muscle growth
3:26 The best foods for muscle-building
4:29 Genetic barriers to muscle-building
Today, we’re going to talk about the best supplements to build muscle fast! Don’t bother taking single amino acids for muscle growth! Double-blinded studies have shown this isn't an effective way to build muscle or increase muscle growth. Amino acids can also turn into sugar, which can increase your blood sugar.
Avoid tribulus and fenugreek if you are building muscle. These compounds can increase testosterone, but not enough to build muscle.
As we age, testosterone decreases and cortisol increases. This combination can hinder muscle building. Overtraining can also significantly increase cortisol and shut down testosterone. Cholesterol is vital for essential hormones like testosterone, so avoid low-cholesterol and low-fat diets if you want to build muscle.
Insulin resistance can hinder muscle growth. Insulin resistance is often caused by frequent eating and high-carbohydrate diets.
Sleep is vital for muscle building because most muscle growth occurs while sleeping! Magnesium glycinate can help you sleep and also helps make energy to feed your muscles.
Try these top 3 muscle-building supplements to boost muscle growth and increase muscle size.
1. Creatine monohydrate
Creatine is found naturally in red meat. It increases ATP, performance, energy during workouts, and hydration, and directly increases muscle stimulus.
2. Whey protein
Whey protein powder provides leucine, which stimulates muscle growth. It also contains the other amino acids vital for muscle building.
3. Zinc
Zinc helps increase testosterone, and even a mild zinc deficiency can decrease testosterone production. Testosterone is vital for building muscle size and strength.
If you want to build muscle, consume grass-fed red meat. It contains creatine, amino acids, zinc, vitamin B12, and carnosine. It also contains healthy fat and cholesterol to help boost testosterone. Eggs and fish also support muscle-building.

I follow you since 2014, Dr Berg! I have to thank you a lot my dear friend.
Dr Berg im confused re whey previously you did not recommend as it spikes insulin and is highly processed and rancid
Exactly I dont consume that poison
@ i switched to casein as a result im wondering if this is better ?
He’s just talking about the most effective supplements for muscle building. They are not necessarily the best for overall health. I think most of us can get enough protein from meat.
@@karimkamel4295you don’t need that, just eat plenty of meat

That makes sense, thanks
Thank you Dr. Berg so much!
Thank God for a Doc that understands what you go thru as as we age. He gives us daily medivation
100% All throughout my 20s and 30s, most of my weight training involved pushing myself to the absolute max. Now at 40, it isn’t that simple anymore, and Doc is filling me in on info I never heard about that now applies to my age.

1. Creatine Monohydrate
2. Whey protein

I never bought any of this garbage, if it comes from food esp. meat I think that’s better than some silly powders.

Which form of Zinc?
Didn’t watch the whole video but my guess: magnesium glycinate, ashwagandha, and creatine
I legit love this guy, i was thinking about just yesterday how he haven’t made a video about muscle building supplements and about creatine and everytime HE NEVER MISS, he Just uploaded today crazy….!
Glad the timing is right! Thanks for your support!
I thought you said avoid whey protein powder???
From my experience creatine only helped a significant amount when i still had a garbage diet. Now that i eat plenty of beef and salmon i didnt see a decrease in performance when i stopped taking it for a few months. I still take an extra 3g a day now because its dirt cheap so why not. The only 2 supplements i feel are actually ‘necessary’ are vitamin D (mine comes with K2 as well, i’ll take it) and magnesium (bisglycinate of course). Everything else i can cover my demands with just diet. Im not camp keto like a lot of people here who don’t exercise but wanna stay in shape, but I wholeheartedly agree with the importance of animal proteins and fats. Its the foundation of my diet. The extra calories i adjust through rice on top of some fruits and oats and veggies, almost 600g carbs on training days now but of course thats individualistic. Have a great weekend everyone!
I’ve listened to this man for the last 5 yrs and I’m IN THE SHAPE OF MY LIFE. Thank You Eric Berg. THANK YOU

Best bet: organic, grass-fed whey protein.
Thanks for sharing this. Glad it has been working for you. Appreciate you watching!
I take L. Reuteri yoghurt for 3 months and i gained both muscles and bone mass. This fermented dairy increases testosterone as well 😊

Doctor Berg, I would really like to see you working with Dr. Oz and RFK to make America healthy again. We need you. The country needs you.
Probably, sometimes certain things they say don’t align with Dr.Berg.
@JomoBlanchfield-fk7et who asked you?
I was told by a doctor that creatine may affect kidney function. Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) which is a measure of kidney function. GFR measures how much blood passes through the glomeruli (tiny filters in the kidneys) each minute.
With creatine it may lower your kidney filtration. Why not get blood work from a doctor to look at the results? I don’t seem to react too well to creatine according to my blood work.
This is why we love Dr. Berg straight to the point
