Thank you for sharing your dear Grandmother’s story. I’m sorry her last years were spent in pain. You are a blessing to all of us who have been lucky enough to find you and your videos. ((Hugs))

You have single-handedly transformed my bad attitude toward exercise. Thank you!

    • Kim Kendrick on June 10, 2021 at 6:45 pm

      Ditto!

      Me too!

    • Lori Law on June 20, 2021 at 4:25 am

Yay ladies you have inspired me. I will start tomorrow morning.. I walk every morning for 4 years with my dog but it has never done one thing to change my body. Im still out of shape and loss of all my muscle tone. I’m so sad. I will not wear dresses skirts or short sleeves.
      I’m 62, 145 & 5’5″. But complete flab. 🌻🤪🤣😂 I’ve got to do something different

    • Cindie McReynolds on June 20, 2021 at 11:54 pm

@Lori Law I am 56, 5’ 9”, 125 lbs & I am also all flab…my dr calls me skinny-fat & not as a compliment😲But Pahla makes me think I can turn this around…even in my 50’s so I am doing her workouts. I am hopeful for the first time ever that I might be able to tone up😬🙏

    • jjcrazi on June 22, 2021 at 8:49 am

Give yourself some credit there! Your mindset couldn’t have changed unless you were willing to change it and do the work! Don’t give away your power 🥰

  3. Erica Martin on June 10, 2021 at 12:36 pm

Great reminders. I love walking, but I also love strength training and everything it’s done for me. And I’m confident that as I get close to 50 and beyond, I won’t have as many broken bones from falls (or as many falls, period) because of your workouts. Thanks for everything you do!

  4. g c on June 10, 2021 at 1:53 pm

Really liked the walking skeleton. Seriously, my interest in exercise has been decreasing and that was a great booster. Thank you

    • Pahla B, Weight Loss Coach for Women over 50 on June 10, 2021 at 1:56 pm

The walking skeleton was my favorite graphic, too! 🤣🤣

  5. Irma Gonzalez on June 10, 2021 at 5:01 pm

Thank you Pahla ! You really encourage me to keep exercising for the sake of being healthy . I love your personality. I am 64 and retired last June. I enjoy your exercises every single day! God bless you!

Loved this video, story and all the right reasons to walk, work out with weights and maintain my STRENGTH and BALANCE! Thank you Pahla!

Thank you for this video! My sister and I have both been diagnosed with osteoporosis at a rather young age! I’m glad I found your workouts to help me stay strong!💪💪💪

Good morning! I am an internal medicine physician. You explained this very well. In a way that is clear and INVITING!! Sharing your grand mother’s story is so impactful. It is hard to get adults to embrace “exercise” in general. Add lifting weights and ohmygolly!! I will point them to this video/channel!

This video brought tears to my eyes. I’m 52 and fit but I’ve been trying my hardest to lose my expanding belly. It hurts my ego now that I have to work even harder to look great in my clothes. I just have to accept that my body is changing and now I have to fight harder to maintain my standard of beauty and fitness. The reason that I am a bit tearful is because I remember the pain and agony that my maternal elders experienced in their later years. I walked 7 miles in two hours this morning so lost in the sun and wind that God allowed me to experience today. When I walk I walk to enjoy myself and strengthen my body, and I also walk for those who are no longer here or who are unable to walk. I’m going to get back in the gym and get a personal trainer to help me with strength training. Thank you and bless you. Thank you also for sharing your lovely grandmother with all of us.

My dear friend, you don’t have to work HARDER (in fact, that’s often the *problem* rather than the solution!), you have to do the RIGHT work. This video explains everything you need to know about losing weight at our age: https://youtu.be/tqcJM2kANQA

    • Panthera Pardus on June 18, 2021 at 7:57 pm

Go keto and low-carb. I have lost 57 lbs. my heaviest was 207 😮I weigh 148 now. Walking and quitting carbs.. bad ones any ways, help me shed the lbs. I am late 50’s.

  10. Julie Willard on June 15, 2021 at 8:57 pm

I used to live in the US and I found it difficult to walk anywhere as no sidewalks. I used to have to go to a college track and walk that. Now back in the U.K. I love being able to walk out my front door and into the countryside. I started weight training a few months back and can see the difference in my posture and upper body strength. Thanks for the great video.

    • Feebee on June 18, 2021 at 5:31 pm

Where in the US did you live that had no sidewalks?!? Lack of sidewalks has never been a problem for me.

    • Julie Willard on June 18, 2021 at 10:44 pm

@Feebee I lived in Dallas and then Georgia. I remember my mum and I trying to walk along a main road as no sidewalk and people stopping asking if our car had broken down. I appreciate the whole of the US is not like that.

    • Marlies Yanke on June 22, 2021 at 2:54 am

Julie. Same in S Carolina. No sidewalks. We found a big cemetary nearby and walked there.Yes. people stopped once to ask if we needed a ride. 😂
Most areas in Minnesota have no sidewalks either.

New subscriber!!🙌🏾🙌🏼 I am 64 and I go to the gym 6 days per week, one hour on the treadmill, 45 minutes doing weight and strengthen the core!! Before I started exercising I use to get out the bed like a hunched back woman, knee hurt and shoulder also. I started taking my health seriously going on 4 yrs now and I feel amazing. I no longer have the pain in my knee or shoulder anymore. I tell folk that exercise is the oil your muscle needs, just like the oil in your cars engine. If you don’t have the oil in either one, you engine and your muscles will seize up. Let keep moving baby boomers!!💃🏾💃🏾💃💃

  12. Anna Akosua on June 18, 2021 at 12:55 am

I absolutely love walking! My favorite way to move my body – combined with time out in nature, natural day light, and stress relieving benefits: perfect ☺️. I’m also eagerly waiting on my rebounder (mini-trampoline). That’s great for balance, building muscles and your bones.

  13. Elizabeth Kowols on June 18, 2021 at 9:48 pm

One of the things that helps is actually….belly dance! Low-impact, good for hips, wrists, spine, core…arms & legs, of course. Any body type can do this. Any age, too!

    • quiet storm on June 20, 2021 at 11:55 pm

Belly dancing is how I started and then I literally graduated to strength training. Eating properly after that is key for me. I burn through my healthy foods fast.

    • Elizabeth Kowols on June 21, 2021 at 5:34 pm

The thing I’m concentrating on now, is eating healthier. I’m a choco-holic, lol! 🍪🍫

    • Quantum Explorer Revised Edition on June 24, 2021 at 4:56 pm

      Great idea!!

3 years ago, I was cycling too, I felt pain in my back and overall lethargic and stiff. I started walking, stretching, balancing , go to the gym for 1 hour and miraculously , no pain, very tone and back to feel like in my thirties ( 64 years old ). I encouraged you good people to do it, it works.

I want to share something. In the Iskands and Africa, its not so at all. My dad died at 98 , no bone loss, no muscle flabber. My Aunt same thing. Two granduncles 101 and 103 respectively still walk in Jamaica to Church. its the Western diet, its the mediation, its the bad food, its the constant driving around. TV watching, bad mental health. And stress. And to even prove I am correct. Once we started to adapt Western way of life. It now has begun to change, diseases that never existed back now, now is showing up. After age 65, I am returning home yo my father’s land. Eating from the soil and proper sunlight and non toxic foods. My granduncles, pure muscle. No fat and flab.

    • N'Tendo on June 27, 2021 at 2:51 pm

Yup, this is actually showing up in more studies too.

    • Marieke Bannnenberg on June 30, 2021 at 5:48 am

@Ashley no name diet. I eat dairy free, lots of vegetables, fruit, fish and chicken. Vitamin D pills. No matter what. It is in my DNA. I live carefully not to break a bone again.

    • Ashley on June 30, 2021 at 12:05 pm

@Marieke Bannnenberg you may want to try eliminating the chicken and fish. I’ve heard animal protein leaches calcium from our bones. Just a thought.

    • John fourteensix on July 15, 2021 at 6:38 pm

I absolutely agree. The weight and balance training she recommended in the video is important but no amount can outdo the damaging affects of the standard American diet. Like you mentioned, we have now “exported” our way of eating around the world, causing major health issues in cultures that traditionally never experienced them before. I would suggest for those interested, check out the documentary “Forks Over Knives”.

    • Bharathi Magdum on March 20, 2022 at 5:05 pm

Totally agree with you. It’s good to eat natural food compared to ready-made food..being under natural light and winds, not constantly being on phone or watching TV..I suppose all these work towards being healthy

  16. shayle62 on June 19, 2021 at 1:10 pm

I’m almost 59! 😳 I’ve been strength training, walking my dog, jogging, skipping and biking for a while now. I love it! The recovery time isn’t as it used to be but I’m hanging in there!

  17. Mel Lovett on June 21, 2021 at 12:53 am

I’m 54 , NEVER had a belly even after 3 children , but now, the menopause belly struggle is real. I’ve changed my eating and started overall taking better care of myself. Slowly seeing changes.

    • Kristin Guinn on June 22, 2021 at 5:15 pm

I’m the same age and have the same problem. 😣.

  18. Karen Hilbert on June 22, 2021 at 9:16 pm

What a blessing to find you! I’m 6 months into the new me in menopause. I started strength training 3 months ago and now I have you and Bob and Brad to round out the other days!! So excited 😆

  19. Mel Braks on June 23, 2021 at 2:00 am

Thank you! This was just what I needed. I’m struggling even though I walk everyday and do pilates. Between menopause and Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism it’s a struggle to lose weight. I’ll try adding some weight sessions.

    • Carol Coss on June 27, 2021 at 8:16 pm

I too have Hashimoto and hypothyroidism and do Pilates 4 x week plus walk 4 miles 3 x week but i didn’t start Losing weight until I started weight training. No diet changes/ I love chocolate.

    • Mel Braks on June 27, 2021 at 8:55 pm

@Carol Coss Thank you! Just the motivation I need to hear. Glad to hear something makes a difference. I ❤️ chocolate too but it doesn’t always play nice with my system(lactose intolerance). You’d think I’d stay away but it’s hard. The plus side is I indulge less frequently knowing the consequences.

  20. Aryany Funes on June 26, 2021 at 3:10 am

I’m 44 years old and my health changed 360 upon reaching this decade. I walk and do yoga videos from YouTube. This combo has really helped me keeping fit and healthy.
