5:15 Ingredients in ultra-processed foods

With just one scan, you’ll see the percentage of sugar, starch, and seed oils lurking in your food. These are the 3 deadly ingredients in ultra-processed junk foods—and my app helps you quickly identify and avoid them.

You'll be surprised at how many “healthy” foods are actually loaded with these harmful ingredients!

Don’t be fooled by "zero sugar" labels. Starch is basically hidden sugar, and it’s just as harmful to your body. Most junk foods are packed with toxic ingredients like rancid seed oils, processed starches, and artificial chemicals—yet they lack the essential nutrients your body craves.

Did you know the average person consumes over 100 pounds of modified food starches every year? it’s in everything from baby formula to pet food—and it's a huge part of a teenager’s diet. It's time to take control and make smarter food choices!

Junk foods are “dead” foods. They’ve been stripped of vital vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals—and loaded with preservatives, coloring, and MSG. That’s not food; that’s just a bunch of chemicals your body doesn’t know what to do with.

Download the app now, and let me know what you think. Plus, get access to a link sharing simple, healthy food swaps to replace those junk food choices. It's like having Dr. Berg right in your pocket—giving you instant guidance on what to eat and what to avoid every step of the way!

This app must be made available worldwide for all smartphone users!

I discovered your channel recently and found a goldmine of health resources here! The discovery was all the more important because I was suffering, until recently, from a severe vitamin D deficiency (ironic, as I’m from southern India, a tropical region with almost year-round sunlight) due to an unhealthy lifestyle. I have since inculcated some of the health tips you have offered and have started to notice substantial improvements in my physical health and cognitive function.

Thank you Doctor! Please keep up your good work!

October, November and December 2021, I watched Dr. Berg videos everyday. January 2022, I started Keto, OMAD and walking 8 miles every other day. I threw away EVERY unapproved food in my house. On October 1, 2022, I had lost 73 lbs from my peak weight. With help from my doctor, I got off 7 medications I had been taking for 20+ years and I had the best blood test results ever. My doctor told me I had a 2% chance of continued success. He had seen me lose weight and regain weight for 30 years. I have sustained my life-style for three years, 31 days. I still watch Dr Berg and other like minded content creators everyday to keep me motivated and to remind myself why I do what I do,.

Here in France we use the Yuka app. It shows all the ingredients and the added stuff and E numbers. It actually tells you if the ingredients are hazardous and would add short notes about such hazardous ingredients on how it can cause cancer

  14. @bettinajahn6648 on January 31, 2025 at 3:47 pm

I am german, living in Spain, so I cannot use the App anyway but thank you all the same for all your work to help humankind stay healthy.❤❤❤❤❤

  15. @janecantrell7155 on January 31, 2025 at 4:12 pm

I downloaded the app this morning and went through my pantry. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this app. Thank you sooooooo much for teaching us how to choose foods and make us healthier as a nation.

    • @Cookieboy70 on January 31, 2025 at 5:17 pm

I literally did the same thing. I was so surprised how so things I thought we just ‘bad’ are actually ‘ultra bad’ and things that were just ‘good’ as ‘ultra good’. I will definitely get rid of allll the ultra bad and minimize the bad, and make sure all the ultra good is always stocked in my fridge/pantry.

  16. @ProtectiveDadPranks on January 31, 2025 at 4:39 pm

THE APP IS AMAZING! So fast to use. Helps me realize what I’m putting in my body. Can’t wait for future updates. The designer did it right! Thanks Dr. Berg

    • @marks.2909 on January 31, 2025 at 5:48 pm

Where can I find this app , i don’t see it on this video,.Thank you

    • @ProtectiveDadPranks on January 31, 2025 at 5:53 pm

@ – currently it’s only available in the Apple App Store

  17. @mattjohnson2526 on January 31, 2025 at 5:00 pm

It’s disappointing that this app is only available to iOS users. There are nearly 150 million Android users in the U.S. I don’t need to use this app because I avoid ultra-processed foods, except for special occasions like birthdays and certain holidays. Yet, having this app for the valuable information it can provide would be fun. Please make it available for Android users.

    • @michelled2993 on January 31, 2025 at 5:58 pm

I agree when will it be for Android users? Helium messes with the apple phone so I have to have Android I would appreciate if I could get this app in Android friendly version

    • @CellChaos-e2s on January 31, 2025 at 5:59 pm

It’s available on Android. The app is called Yuka

    • @Free-Gee on January 31, 2025 at 6:16 pm

Great points but we don’t really need an app, just avoid all processed food AMAP. – As much as possible 👍

    • @captnhuffy on January 31, 2025 at 6:27 pm

What? That’s crazy! Android based app needed.!!!

    • @humanactivated1017 on January 31, 2025 at 6:29 pm

  18. @roxane7432 on January 31, 2025 at 6:00 pm

I share your videos to everyone i meet. 😂. My diet (most of my life, and im 62) consists of red meat (grassfed, local raised beef, deer meat eater, and fresh farm eggs. Im so glad i found this channel and Dr. Berry ,is also a blessing., cause my med doc has been scolding me for 20 yrs re: my high protein diet, red meat and egg diet. He says, I need to cut red meat out of my diet, and eat carbs, even though Im 62 , never been prescribed pharm drugs, havent had so much as a common cold since 1997, all my lab test come back perfectly healthy. Last time i seen my med dr, i shared one of dr. Berry and one of uour videos with my med dr., re: carbs, sugars, protein. He didnt say a word about red meat, egg diet.

  20. @jencrews on January 31, 2025 at 7:07 pm

I’m breaking my New Year’s resolution of not posting comments on YouTube to tell you that this is like a miracle. My daughter just got diagnosed with prediabetes and she’s 12 and I’m struggling because I feel like I’m working against so many forces to keep her on a healthy diet. This is going to help so much because she loves scanning with other apps but none of those apps show seed oils. Thank you, thank you thank you! I appreciate you so much for all the work you do.
