This and other videos from Dr. Ekberg have saved my life. My GPs were killing me slowly…none of them ever bothered to refer me for a dieticians assessment.
Watching Dr Ekberg and Dr. Berg has literally proven to me I have a combination of high insulin and extremely high cortisol combination.
I am working on removing certain foods all together…stopped sugar but still craving too much carbs…not sure how to stop the craving for carbs. Its crazy

i’m genuinely surprised how quickly one can add weight on holidays. Went from a size 46 to a size 34 in the last 6 to 7 months but it only took about 3 weeks of holiday feasting to go back up to 36 maybe 37.

Went from eating roughly 250grams of meat once a day for most of those few months, twice went 7 day fasts and a few times skipped a day or two of eating. During the holidays was basically eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with snacking in between. Candy, bread, potatoes, etc…

    • @ashdgee on December 29, 2023 at 1:07 pm

Holiday temptations are real. You will recover

    • @drekberg on December 29, 2023 at 2:46 pm

Thank you @ThomasRonnberg. That will do it. Fortunately it is reversible. 😄

    • @RedDragon-eh8hx on December 29, 2023 at 5:00 pm

@ThomasRonnberg most of that weight will be fluids if most of the extra foods were carbs. Go back to lower carbs and your weight will reduce (but you’ll probably be going to the lavatory a lot to get rid of the fluid.

    • @Andy-df5fj on December 29, 2023 at 5:56 pm

If you return to and maintain your healthy routine, the gained holiday weight drops quickly. I gained 6 lbs over the last holiday weekend. 6 lbs initially took me about a month to lose, but resuming my healthy routine burned off the newly gained 6 lbs in 4 days.

Dr Sten doesn’t really like you guys breaking it down for people. I know you’re meaning good… but he wants people to watch the video as a whole. To understand how everything fits together. It causes people to pick something and only watch a certain aspect he discussed. Sometimes it causes them to be unable to understand where he comes from or the bottomline of how everything ties together is missed or misunderstood. He spoke extensively about this in previous videos.

    • @LillieLong on December 29, 2023 at 1:08 pm

Thank you. Sometimes a person just wants the basic facts in as short a time as possible

    • @michellenordberg2747 on December 29, 2023 at 1:15 pm

I watch every video start to finish, but also return to some sections to study again. I appreciate the thumbnail of chapters or topics so it’s easier to find the section I want to revisit, and also see a complete summary to take an image for future reference. So I’m just going to say thank you for doing this!

Thank you, Dr. Sten, for all you do. I have lost belly fat following your advice. Would you please do a video for those who do not have their gallbladder?

  7. @TMB-B10M on December 29, 2023 at 1:52 pm

I’m down 70 pounds since watching your videos. Looking forward to getting some blood work analysis from your clinic when I can afford it, especially since I have no doctor that I trust and haven’t had bloodwork since 2019. I definitely can identify a few areas for improvement based on your list in this video.

Hi Dr. Ekberg. Thanks for all that you teach us in your videos. I use organic high-oleic sunflower oil which is pressed rather that solvent extracted. It is high in Omega 3. Is this a good choice? I use either that, Coconut Oil, or Butter depending on the cooking that I am doing. Thanks for your help.

Excellent video Dr. Ekberg! YouTube University is fortunate to have you here to help us out! I’ve watched many of your videos and it has been life-changing!
I watched your diabetes video five times before I felt like I finally understood this issue and could speak about it.
    It broke my brain!! Lol
This particular video is great because you are responding directly to those who misinform the public about sugar, artificial sweeteners, seed oils, etc.
You clearly debunk the myths that abound this topic. ((👊))
    Keep up the TKO’s!
    Much appreciated!!
    Happy New Year!!🎉

This doctor needs to be cloned and put into every medical school to re-educate doctors with correct information about health.
He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way.
I just love learning from his simple to understand videos … I respect this man immensely. 👍👍👍

  17. @etiennelouw9244 on January 2, 2024 at 6:30 am

I retired at 63, 69 now. 97kg (214lbs). My back neighbor had an accident so I had to go over a 6ft wall, grabbed my ladder and helped. Then I had a problem, getting back over, this is when I realized that I had rested too much and lost a lot of my strength. I did not like this so I started on the 100 push ups challenge (5 times 20). I ordered weights and started with that as well. On top of that I started intermittent fasting (19:00 to 11:30), but eating the same food. So far I lost down to 92kg (202lbs) in 24 days. I have to say that I am also a gardener and grow veggies like green and purple loose leaf lettuce, rainbow carrots, rainbow spinach’ tomatoes and then a bit more. Eating a lot less carbs as well.

Dear Dr. Ekberg, thank you very much for this very enlightening information. I have the following questions:
Sugar substitutes: I am currently testing the replacement of sugar with the sugar alcohols xylitol and erytrite. What effect do they have on the body’s metabolism, especially on the liver? Is this a sensible alternative?
Fish: depending on their origin, significant amounts of heavy metals such as mercury and cadmium have been found in many types of fish (including salmon, cod, mackerel and cod). How dangerous is this for a healthy diet?

Side effects at the beginning of the dietary change: during the first three months of the dietary change I experienced a kind of sugar withdrawal symptom despite appropriate preparation (whole grains, oatmeal, etc.). Is this normal? How can I counteract this?

  19. @mathewnottingham1006 on January 2, 2024 at 6:06 pm

I really like your videos and find what you recommend to be successful for me. I also watch Doctors Boz and Berg quite a lot and find their advice to be helpful. My big belly is all but gone in 3 months by eliminating processed carbs as much as possible, though I still eat low starch vegetables and leafy greens in my one meal per day and I do a 36 to 48 hour fast once a month. I’ve gone from 267lbs to 224 in 3 1/2 months and intend to be under 200 by the end of this new year if I can do so without losing muscle mass. I’m 68 years old so it’s a little more difficult to do in some ways but worth the effort based on how much better I already feel!
