My GP referred me to a specialist as I have ulcerative colitis. During my conversation with her she said weight was a matter of calories in and calories out. I couldn’t believe she said that. I left and didn’t go back. Even though I knew nothing about it at that point I knew from my body that was wrong.

Dr. Ekberg, I work as an electrician, and the work is quite active for most of the day. I do not exercise outside of work time. Can you please do a video that talks about if this is a good thing, or a bad thing? Since I’m pretty active at work, I don’t see the need to do other activities.

I was a sheetmetal worker. I was a physical job
I did not do EXERCISE. I was in good condition. But no amount of exercise will outrun a poor diet. Trust me, I know from experience. Now I am 77 and feel great on a 2 year ketovore diet and exercise.

Just one correction. Protein does not raise blood sugar, at least unless you overeat it, or are not an unrecovered diabetic. In fact, when I watch my CGM, I watch the blood sugar go down. This is because my insulin spikes when I consume high protein. Shortly after, my blood sugar returns to normal, after the insulin spike comes down. Note, I don’t test insulin (you can’t, really, at home) but this is the best explanation.
PS: Also be aware that the insulin spike from protein is not necessarily bad either, as long as you don’t already have high blood sugar (because the spike tends not to come down.) This is because protein also spikes glucagon, which suppresses fat storage and encourages fat consumption.

I used to be a professional Olympic kayaker and kept training into my 50s and still gave myself type 2 diabetes and prostate cancer with my high carb, high sugar diet. You can’t exercise your way out of a bad nutrition!

there is no guarantee you would be healthy if you ate vegetables and proteins 100% of the time, many things are genetic or you might get sick through contact with poisons or dangerous sustances, those things are out of your control

Agreed, one of the best metabolic health YouTubers existing. I don’t pay so much attention to weight as I do belt holes, lol! I’m down about five holes in a similar amount of time which probably equates to about 40 to 45 pounds
