As usual, the devil is in the detail!

I’m following your advice from Keto to carnivore & one meal daily and over the last six years (took me decades to put the weight on!) I’ve lost 100lbs with relative ease (67yr old) and just 40 or 50 more to reach my goal. Very grateful for your free advice.

    • s2sailingfree on February 17, 2023 at 12:48 pm

      Congratulations.

    • Lawdog Wales on February 17, 2023 at 1:32 pm

Yeah, I lost the first 100 pounds fairly easily too. It’s the last 50 or 60 pounds that is proving to be much more difficult. Hope we both get it done this year!

    • ethio on February 17, 2023 at 5:37 pm

      Keep up the good work.

    • Keri Lockwood on February 17, 2023 at 6:32 pm

Do you drink coffee with milk?

    • Paul Taylor on February 17, 2023 at 7:04 pm

No. Just black coffee without milk or sugar. Probably about nearly a gallon daily without any sleep issues.

*Thank Dr. Sten, it was usefulπŸ”₯πŸ‘*

I have stated it here before but even raw organic oats stimulated my appetite as much as alcohol would . I was baffled by this until I found lots of diabetic forums ( I was probably pre diabetic then ) where diabetics were saying ” why are we told to eat oats – they spike my blood sugar ” . ✌️

Thank you Doctor! Have you done a lesson on Activated Charcoal? Or other supplements like that and how they impact our health vs just dieting without them? I saw a vid claiming we need to do autophagy while taking activated charcoal for instance. Would love to see your supplements analysis! Thanks for all you do Doc, you are the best!

I can only go off of my own study. 2 slices of bacon, 2 eggs and a half an avocado eaten at 7am will hold me all day. Blew my family doctor’s mind when I went for a wellness check and was able to give a fasted blood sample at 4pm. My bloodwork was beautiful so he’s slowly coming around to a LC way. 4 years ago I was 85 pounds heavier and diabetic so he’s seeing the study happen right in front of him. Thank Dr. Sten!

    • Abe Kartman on February 17, 2023 at 4:16 pm

That meal will only last me 1 hour lol.

    • Nick Buis on February 17, 2023 at 4:27 pm

@Abe KartmanΒ  if you don’t use fat efficiently then that is likely the case.

    • ethio on February 17, 2023 at 5:35 pm

@Heather White Also the health care system nation wide.

Laymen telling studied people about health is modern time audacity.

Thank you #1 Health Champion. Did you see the Tufts food scale? So heartbreaking that our most prestigious institutes would be so easily bought and betray public health in such a manner. And I believe that some of the breakfast cereals on the Tufts list are actually banned in certain European countries due to carcinogenicity. God help the children growing up from birth on this American garbage called β€œfood”.

Basically my diet for the last 14 months. Down 145 pounds and have satiety. I have lost lots of weight before on a low fat diet (94 pounds over 14 months), and I was crazy angry all the time. I feel full most of the time with my intermittent fasting (can go 16 hours with no problem and often get 23 hours). Praying I don’t rebound again on this approach.

  15. angelfriend on February 17, 2023 at 3:14 pm

Thank you Dr. Ekberg for pointing out all the “holes” in studies of this kind. We are so led to believe all the lies of the medical community that it is sometimes difficult to know what the truth really is! Please keep making these videos…they really do benefit people, and save lives! I don’t have the same apprehension about getting older, and quality of life because of you…good health is possible if you get off the carbs and sugar! Hope this finds you well, encouraged, and many blessings on you and yours! So grateful! Have an awesome weekend!

About 50 years ago I noticed that after eating a large sandwich, I was hungry again after 2 hours. But I didn’t draw any conclusions from that!

10 – 15 years ago, I started eating no bread, little potatoes and such, but much more fat. (Not keto, though.)
    Always full meals!

That made me go much longer between meals, because the fat seemed to make me not hungry for a long time.

After 1.5 years I had lost about 13 kg of weight I didn’t need. Without any attempt to eat less and, of course, not counting calories.

I still, mostly, eat more fat and less carbs. My weight is almost the same as when I was 26 or so, and in my best shape.

I do strength training regularly. But in my experience exercise doesn’t make you lose much weight. Perhaps 2 kg.
What it does is make you not lose muscle when you lose weight.

Just some personal experience. I’m sure this doesn’t fit everyone.

Sadly, some scientists still say that saturated fat is unhealthy. And that keeps many from lowering carbs.
Actually, saturated fat increases LDL, and higher LDL has a statistical correlation with cardiovascular disease. That seems to confuse some scientists into beliving saturated fat is unhealthy, and give advice accordingly.

Actually, high LDL isn’t causing cardiovascular disease. But if you have metobolic syndrom, it damages LDL and the liver doesn’t recognize it anymore. That, of course raises LDL, and that gives the statistical corelation the scientist are so impressed with.

These damaged LDL are called Small Dense LDL.
You can see that you don’t have them in the ordinary lipid blood tests your doctor does. If the quote between Triglycerides and HDL is low, it’s pretty sure you are OK, with high LDL!
Ideal is something like 0.75. But over 1.5 isn’t good.

A Framingham study showed tha the TG/HDL quota is 5 times more significiant than the LDL level. Now you know why that is!

Some research has shown that among elderly, high LDL is actually correlated with less mortality. Ponder that!
Few know that LDL has an immun system function. It might be that!

For some reason those scientists I talked about, doesn’t ponder that! I would think that they would ask themselves why that is, if LDL is so dangerous.
Perhaps they just consider it a paradox. Just as they talked about the French Paradox.
    Some scientists aren’t!

I began Januray 3rd, after watching videos for 2 weeks. Since that time I’ve been watching and learning every day. Today is Feb. 17th. I’m down 24 pounds, in weight, -22 points systolic Blood Pressure. Brain fog gone, bloating gone, all over body pain reduced, energy soaring, motivation in all areas of life restored. I trust Dr. EKBERG. As soon as I started learning the science, everything got easier.

Seriously..WOW….good for you..those are some serious numbers…you must feel reborn…congrats! Was that part of a New Year resolution?

I really appreciate you taking an actual study, and “critiquing” it. This is the kind of info the community needs. Most of us, I suspect don’t have the resources and the time to really examine studies. Having knowledgeable people like you, Baker, Chaffee, Kay and other, really dissect and explain nutrition studies would really go a long way in educating the masses.

    Thank you!!!

    • Oz B on February 17, 2023 at 7:26 pm

hi who are these, Baker, Chaffee, Kay?????? do they have youtube channels?

  19. Carbage Man on February 17, 2023 at 4:38 pm

I can’t think of anything I find more satisfying than a relatively lean (for the cut) ribeye, or a fat (for the cut) strip steak. Avocado is a good choice. Boiled eggs work. I like celery with a Greek yogurt-based dip. 2-to-4 stalks of celery can help round out a meal. I like to add extra virgin olive oil and nutritional yeast to my broccoli.

  20. Mahmudul Hasan on February 17, 2023 at 5:04 pm

    1. Avocado

    6. Beef with fat
    7. Chicken with skin
    8. Fatty fish
    9.Cheese
    10. High fat dairy
