Can you do one on whey protein. That has sweeteners
Can’t go wrong if you only drink plain or carbonated water!
Thank you @thereligionofrationality8257. Maybe with a squeeze of lime 😄
@꧁༒Set Apart༒꧂ Please explain, fact-based if you can. Thank you.
What about unsweet tea?
@꧁༒Set Apart༒꧂ I also have been researching on whether carbonated water is bad for the health. It seems you have found some evidence/study on that, please share.
@H Hh The only thing I remember reading somewhere is that carbonated beverages can be damaging to your teeth, but nothing serious. Use a straw, or rinse with plain water after drinking anything carbonated. Otherwise, it’s as good as drinking plain water.
10. Non-Dairy Creamers
9. Flavored water
8. Chocolate Milk
7. Sweetend Tea & Coffee drinks
6. Milk shakes
5. Juice
4. Sport drinks
3. Energy drinks
2. Sweet Tea (Coffee) ???
1. Soda drink
@Corliss Adams
all sorts of herb teas, small amount of coffee with natural non-dairy creamers & non-nutritive sweeteners, water with natural electrolytes & drink mixes that have no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners like True Citrus products, Crystal Light PURE sticks & some of the Sweet Leaf etc stevia products come with natural flavors to mix in water or coffee.
LOTS of healthy stuff to drink!!! LOTS & LOTS!!
Thank you for the list, even though I still watched the video.❤
@Eileen Lutz
If you avoid all of these, what’s the problem? We all understand it’s because they contain sugar, artificial sweeternes and or chemicals. One doesn’t need to know more than that.
@Becky Nelson 😕 What are you a 🤖
So water and beer are good.
I’m 65 and I can remember my grandfather telling me and my grandma when we was walking to the grocery store for her not to get one of them dopes I swear he called cokes and I remember him complaining that other people that worked around him drinking and things all day long and couldn’t do the job.
My jaw just dropped!
During World War 2, the Coca Cola company gave free Coke to the soldiers, hooking them for life. Cigarette companies gave the soldiers free cigarettes, hooking them for life.
During high school sports, they gave us salt tablets and water to consume.
@Thomas Pick In Vietnam our c-rations included a few cigarettes.
@Thomas Pick Yes. That was my father.
Great video. One needs to also highlight that such drinks are not only bad for your body but are sold in single use containers, so these chemical cocktails are bad for your body and the earth.
Thank you @ericbibeau5631. That’s a good point. 😄
I am 55 days free of Diet Coke- What a huge addiction that was and I had no idea until I quit. It was not easy but I will never go back.
Sweets more addictive than drugs IMO smoked for 40 years and quit 20 years ago much easier than sugar which I have yet to conquer.
@Crazy World Occupant buy 1 cart and drink it whenever you think of it, you’ll easily get over it.
@SharkFish That makes no sense. You don’t get over something by continuing to indulge.
@nabill arif I find brewing kombucha to be a great way to replace the soda. If you want the fizz, you can do a second ferment in a closed bottle for fizz. 😅
@It’s Just Me thank you 😀
“Can I please have a cup of Diabetes to go?” 😂 Made my day, thanks Dr Sten! Great educational wry-flavored video as always!
😂😅
Thank you @blackmMik for letting me know. I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.😄
My ex wife was 5’1″ 105 pound beauty when we got married in 1994. She was on the upswing with weight and downswing with health when we divorced 14 years later. She basically lived off coke and fries and potato chips. Coke within reach all day everyday every waking hour. Present day: she is 49 probably weighs 230+ and has had BOTH hips replaced already and still same diet. It is really sad.
@Erica Malast Lol. Like telling the depressed person to, “just cheer up!” (Yeah, why didn’t I think of that?)
@Winter Garden I am about 64 and never had a problem with menopause. I was healthy weight and in good health. Only problem I had was sleeping the first two years because I was so hot.
@take the step forward I tried to tell my ex when we were married when he was 30. Even paid for one of those meal plans ( like Jenny Craig where you buy the food in pkg) and go once a month for canceling. He was a drop out and would not do it. Now at 60 he paying the price. He did not care about his health.
@Erica Malast doubt it! My ex never grew up and did not care about his health
Been there, seen that 🙂 my x wife has cirrosis.
I remember growing up in the 60s soda was something we only got at birthday parties. Times have certainly changed.
@fewworddotrick Some 80s/90s kids always had soda growing up. It destroys your teeth and makes it very difficult to stay in shape. I quit soda and lost 30lbs myself. It’s odd soda was rare for you, everyone I knew always had soda. Always.
@Just Peachy – Our Mom was the same as Lady Lounge’s. All kinds of meds, whatever the Doc prescribed. We had the typical white flour, sugar, margarine upbringing in the 50’s and 60’s. Mom passed away last Friday at 95.❤ 😢
@theo wink
2 out of 3 ain’t horrible!
But we had cordial. At least we did in Norway. But when you make it youself, it’s only berries and sugar.
@I am who You say I am
He is talking about the 60 ies.
As a diabetic I’ve come to learn to only drink water, unsweetened black coffee (about 2x month) and unsweetened tea. Took awhile to get used to but I can drink it ☕️.
I just wish you could be plastered all over mainstream TV Dr. Ekberg. Our society is so loaded down with everything that is bad for your health. Thank you for putting that content out there. There are people who do pay attention, and our health has you to thank! Hoping you have a great weekend!
Become too effective at making a dent in public perception and you will be served papers.
@TheRexhim Like that time a Coca-Cola agent pulled a gun on me at the Sheetz and forced me to buy and consume a six-pack of Coke.
@TheRexhim : I was thinking the same thing myself. If they feel he is making any traction, watch out. You don’t mess with coca cola’s profits.
@elizabeth wamsley I saw a extremely overweight man, with O2 tubes in his nose, tooling around in our local supermarket this morning, in a motorized cart, with four, 12 packs of “fat” coke. Oh, yes, he was also missing part of one leg, a diabetic amputation most likely.
25 years ago, I was addicted to Diet Coke when it had aspartame in it. I had no conscious limit and drank many of them a day. Slowly, I started getting weak & shaky, almost MS-type symptoms. I ran into a reacher at work one day who was doing a paper about aspartame and it’s neurological effects on humans. I read the paper & decided to stop drinking Diet Coke. To my surprise, the neurological symptoms I had reversed in less than 3 weeks.
I only drink water, coffee with stevia & real heavy cream (2 cups in the morning), or unsweetened tea. I’m convinced that all these drinks are slowly killing us in one way (sugar) or the other (chemicals).
Eat straight veggies and drink water. Chips and soda shouldn’t be at schools.
After 60 years of a high sugar and high carb diet but always being very very active,I cut with sugar and carbs cold turkey.
Thanks Dr Ekberg your responsible for this. Then went to 20/4 intermittent fasting. Result 20 kilo loss in 8 weeks with no fatigue or headaches following the doctors videos carefully. I always keep in mind the goal is metabolic health first and its result is weight loss and homeostasis. Of course proper nutrition.
It was an easy transition for me once I understood the mechanisms. THANKS DR.EKBERG.
P.S After smoking for 30 years I can tell you its far easier to give up sugar than it is to stop smoking by a factor of 1000times in my own case.
It took me 4 months to stop the smoking and then another 6 month battle royal to get over the nicotine cravings. The consequences of this was a 10 kilo weight gain to fight off the cravings. In my personal life I always had an abundance of physical activity.
Luck I was born with good genes.
Go figure.
🤔🤔🤔🤔.
ONCE AGAIN THANKS DR EKBERG.
HEIGHT 187 CM AND WEIGHT NOW 95 KILO.
Seven kilos to go.
Cheers.❤😂👋🤚
Dam ! What a roller coaster, what about alcohol
No alcohol during keto and intermittent fasting.
I had arthritis for 30 years. 4 years ago, I quit added sugars and my pain greatly decreased. 2 years ago, I quit grains and my pain disappeared. I am 73.
Congrats. I’m just 4 weeks into Keto/Carnivore. I’m tired of pain.
Wish me luck.
@It’s Just Me Excellent! Consider combining Keto with intermittent fasting.
@Jim Ivey Thanks,. Jim.
Hi there..Im going on 2nd yr of drs not knowing what is wrong with me. Started with GERD, then symmetrical joint pain everywhere, then a rash which is mild visually but more like systemic and is affecting joints.. Sugar/carbs really affect it, especially at night. I am on an antibotic for possible SIBO. Any advice for me? I’m looking for help from people who have been in my shoes. My diet is quite restricted due to GERD. Did more food restricting to see if food intolerances..nothing really stands out, some gas with dairy and oils. Taking plant enzymes which really help. my labs are normal!! Please respond anyone who can relate! Thank you in advance. I only drink Almond milk and water 🙂
@Sue Bell almond milk should go too until you are sure it’s not contributing to the problem
This man has changed my life! I’ve been following his advice on nutrition and fasting for over a year. I’m 30 pounds lighter, leaner, feel better, and look younger. Once you realize a lot of our food is poison and adapt to healthy foods, there’s no going back.
2 weeks myself and 5lbs lighter just making 2 minor changes
I just want to say thank you for your free kind health advices. It helped me a lot. My fatty liver is gone after 6 months of consistent diet and exercising. And also fasting. I lost 70 lbs in 4 months and if you want to see my before after photos I can send you. Just wanted to say keep doing what you’re doing. You are helping guys like me who want to change and become better. Thank you.
Stay healthy man ❤
In college, I stopped drinking all drinks but water and lost 15lbs from that alone. I still have no idea why I decided to do it one day, I just realized I didn’t need it. I saw from that how much weight sugary drinks kept on me.
I gave up drinking Coke around 7 months back and it was the best thing ever. Drank it all my life from 11 years old till I was in my mid 40’s and thought I would never be able to give it up. Combined with diet I have lost 16kg’s in that time as well and I think a lot of it is just from not drinking up to 2L of coke a day.
Dear Dr. Ekberg, thanks for your wonderful and insightful recordings.
I am male, 31y, 70kg, 182cm, last year diagnosed with Colon Cancer Stage3-a. This week all scans showed that everything is clean and I am cured, with no trace of disease. I discovered your channel right after my diagnosis and adjusted my diet and lifestyle. I have a strong belief that it was a large factor that helped me to overcome illness. I can not express my gratefulness.
Also, all your extensive knowledge really motivates to various things. The first, of course, is to rise argument awareness about food consumption. And second to get back into the natural sciences like physics and chemistry.
I almost didn’t watch this because I knew that I was not consuming anything on this list. I am so glad I watched. I finally understand what the problem is with fructose. Note to self: never skip a Dr. Ekberg video! Thank you so much, Dr Ekberg.
Same here, I even didn’t know some of these ‘drinks’ existed.
