Enjoy.
I understand the whole injury thing. I spent a lot of my 20’s and 30’s with annoying injuries, partly because I didn’t understand the best way to move my body. I really messed up my patella tendon in martial arts training because I have a potential to be very mobile. I have to consciously think to do things to support my joints that other people don’t need to think about. I used to also be way more forceful with my yoga practice resulting in hamstring tears, again caused by being overly mobile. At the ripe old age of 45 I think I have figured out what suits me best,no doubt it is change and evolve.
Currently my activities are;
Yoga (obvs I’m a teacher) but more strength focused than extreme flexibility.
Weights
Callisthenics
Also balancing my body. My back is tight so I’m working to improve strength and flexibility so my other hyper mobile joints aren’t compensating.
And most importantly I have to love it because life is too short to do anything you don’t enjoy.✨💜🙏🏻
An ultramarathon this year sounds like a bad idea for you. That could change. Only you know what you should do, but don’t feel like you’re stuck doing it because you told people it’s your plan.
