I am 79+ pushing 80 & I have been doing squats for about 3+ and living proof that squats help the body & mind… To start I took hold of the kitchen sink & when coming up I took my hands/arms overhead… I also took hold of door jam when I wanted to do something different… or not at home… Just improve the body/mind…. Thanks!!!!

I’ve been with my doctor for 28 years now. He’s in his 70s now and he not like the 5 minutes doctors So I told him About fasting and I told him about Dr.berg and Dr.Ekberg . 3 years ago because he wanted to know what is making my Blood work results look so good. Things like for many years my vitamin D3 and B12 was a problem. That I had to get B12 shots every 2 weeks and take more than usual 50,000 of vitamin D ³ . Also my weight wasn’t moving from 410 lbs My legs were So swollen since 2010 They tried everything physical therapy, medication, compression machine and others. But from doing fasting within 2 weeks everything started freaking me out. I was so excited to see results from going cold turkey no sugar and seeds oil, carbs, wholegrain etc. I am going to stop right here. Dr.berg and Dr.Ekberg Thank you guys. Now my doctor is doing keto fasting.

It is no wonder that in the military squats are the first exercises one is introduced to do.

Good morning Dr. Ekberg! I’m in physical therapy, and the goal is to do squats, so this is a timely video! I actually did a couple pretty good ones yesterday! I was relieved to hear you say everything from not having to squat way down, to proper posture that will really help! Thank you for the information! This is very life applicable, and useful! Hope you have a great day! Don’t forget to soak up that wonderful winter sunshine…one of my favorite things!!😊

    • @drekberg on January 30, 2026 at 1:03 pm

Thank You @angelfriend3710. Glad to hear it. Maybe your PT clinic can recommend the video as an instructional 😀

His advice works wonders! I talk about him all the time. I had just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer when I found him. Now the cancer is gone but I’m not. I had my final chemo treatment 12/31/25, and hopefully won’t ever get it again. His advice definitely helped me to get through the chemo without losing too much weight. Most oncologists tell you to eat anything you want. If you crave it, eat it. But it’s the opposite of what needs to happen.

    • @9thebear on January 30, 2026 at 2:52 pm

@julianokleby1448I hope you stay cancer free. Please look into the peptide PNC-27 it may help you. All the best!

Dr Sten Ekberg Monday I got my Blood works results back my LDL cholesterol was 239 now 89 , vitamin D was 32 now 70 Triglyceride was 87 now 57 ❤ Thank you Dr EKBERG ❤ 🐐 👑 Also I was telling my doctor about you. He said that he didn’t know about the things that you are teaching us ❤

    • @drekberg on January 30, 2026 at 1:01 pm

      Thank You @donrundy3767. That’s awesome 😀

    • @julianokleby1448 on January 30, 2026 at 1:02 pm

That’s fabulous! My numbers got worse but it was because I stopped taking the cholesterol meds he was prescribing me, I don’t believe in them any more. I asked him how much nutrition information they got in medical school. He said “one basic class but that’s it.” I have told him about Dr. Ekberg and a few other doctors but he would rather stick with big pharma. Sad that they all basically sold their souls to the devil to keep giving people pills for the side effects of their other pills and it just builds. I was on 19 meds at one point before I finally realized what they were doing.

Thank you Dr Ekberg. You help people’s lives improve with age. Im turning 70 and wanting to give my body the best opportunity for a better future

  17. @Arttevino on January 30, 2026 at 1:11 pm

I’ve always hated doing squats. 😖 My knees make a faint grinding sound that is just awful, tho they are never painful at all. Dr. Sten’s explanation of the multiple benefits of squats (as well as a few of the comments here) have inspired me to give them a try again. Just did my first set of 25! 👍

  18. @deepost2604 on January 30, 2026 at 1:56 pm

I am doing this..plus walking 30+ minutes per day. Age 83, and I’m getting stronger every day.

    • @MediterraneanD on January 30, 2026 at 4:03 pm

Protein synthesis has to be higher than protein breakdown. Daily squats will age you. You need time to repair. This doctor has no clue. Only food will hypertrophy muscle. If you do squats daily you are in constant muscle breakdown and no time to repair.

    • @MaRia-vs2ln on January 30, 2026 at 4:03 pm

      Danke für ihren Bericht!!

    • @rlc2978 on January 30, 2026 at 4:24 pm

      @MediterraneanD by doing 25 squats a day? 😂

    • @MediterraneanD on January 30, 2026 at 4:33 pm

@rlc2978You can poke fun of it all you want but I am a exercise physiologist. Muscle is post-mitotic meaning that it doesn’t divide. You can hypertrophy it only with food after you break it down with resistance training. If protein synthesis doesn’t overcome breakdown you just simply build back the same and accelerate aging. So protein is key and recovery. Daily squats just promotes breakdown and not recovery. You need at least 96 hours of repair especially at your age. 96 hours for muscle repair. Tendons and ligaments could take even longer.

    • @kutykutyka on January 30, 2026 at 4:50 pm

@MediterraneanD You’ve heard some things and what you’re saying is partially true if you’re doing heavy weight training like bodybuilders do, however, common sense needs to be exercised here. Your heart muscles do work 24/7, yet they don’t burn out. Walking a few miles even twice a day will not overwhelm muscles as a daily routine. Your body is designed to do hundreds of squats a day with no issues, otherwise no one would be able to complete an 8-hour workday, not to mention people who do 5-7 days a week. 🙂 Also heavy exercise does not cause protein break down, it’s called micro tears in muscle fibers due to high stress on them and when they get repaired, they’re rebuilt stronger to the higher demand. That type of exercise has to be pretty vigorous though, to experience a lot of muscle soreness next day.

  19. @raulbaerlocher on January 30, 2026 at 2:10 pm

Squats are my all time favourite exercise.

  20. @mssoiree67 on January 30, 2026 at 4:18 pm

Watching from London, i will start doing squats daily 😊
