This Carb Spikes Blood Sugar WORSE Than Sugar

The most dangerous carb in the world is not sugar. It’s not even classified as a sugar, yet it spikes blood sugar higher than sugar itself.

This factory-engineered carbohydrate bypasses every warning label you’ve been taught to look for. It’s marketed as “zero sugar,” costs pennies per pound, and is added to thousands of everyday products, including gluten-free foods, baby formula, baked goods, and sports nutrition.

And the health consequences are massive. The average person consumes 65–250 pounds per year of this industrial starch without realizing it.

      Good luck

    • @LeahM1111 on February 2, 2026 at 1:18 pm

Lol I can’t have most packed food I avoid them all because lectins kill me. Meat, a few different veggies and a few fruits is all I can have if I don’t want full body pain. Now I don’t even crave them they make me a sick so that is not appealing. It’s definitely doable.

    • @ashleyjames8954 on February 2, 2026 at 1:48 pm

Hard to do. Even fruits n vegetables are packaged in plastic containers contributing to our microplastic epidemic and thats before we get to a better understanding of what all is actually in our now mostly lab grown, GMO’ed fruits n veggies. Theres simply not much left to choose from for food much less actually enjoy eating it.

    • @pault1440 on February 2, 2026 at 2:58 pm

@ashleyjames8954You’re talking about plastics (which are actually macro plastics and not microplastics) and she’s talking about something completely different. Lmao. Just like to hear yourself talk???

Yeah my Diabetic nurse told me last year its starch l need to cut out not sugar. I thought she was exaggerating at first. I started eating flours like chickpea, Almond, oatmeal etc. My hbc is now getting lower.

    • @chefgeo1010 on February 2, 2026 at 1:08 pm

Lol it’s not either or. You still need to cut sugar. Smh

    • @DancingAndPraze on February 2, 2026 at 1:15 pm

      Huh

    • @suegray8296 on February 2, 2026 at 1:43 pm

Where u get that kind of flour please 😊

    • @BlackJackPoodle on February 2, 2026 at 1:57 pm

@suegray8296clearly you’re a bot if you don’t know where to get any of these flours. 😅😅😅😅😅

    • @YeshuaKingMessiah on February 2, 2026 at 2:01 pm

Starch is sugar lol it turns to sugar in ur body. It’s usually easier to get rid of sugary foods first and still eat starchy veg, beans and wholegrain breads and pasta. Then u cut back on those so ur not eating them every meal and then cut out any snacks.
U have to get enough protein and increase ur fat to do all this.

  10. @shannonjones8877 on February 2, 2026 at 11:48 am

I’ve noticed that this stuff is used a lot to give sauces that thick texture. So i mostly tend to just stay away from those nowadays.

    • @SabiParamount on February 2, 2026 at 12:05 pm

You’re right .. I don’t eat processed food .. but every time I make chicken wings or roasted veggies I use lot of that sauce dressings.. whihout noticing just one gram of those sauce is 100 calories and where those calories come from just 1 spoon is these statches

    • @dripxskylark9752 on February 2, 2026 at 2:39 pm

This must be why pizza always feels like it’s hurts all of the fake starch and acidic sauce

  11. @carolflower9672 on February 2, 2026 at 11:50 am

    MALTODEXTRIN & MODIFIED CORN STARCH A V O I D !!!

    • @SumakwelVictoria on February 2, 2026 at 3:02 pm

MODIFIED Maltodextrin. Keyword is modified. Probably mixed in with something during processing.

Natural maltose from Barley is healthy. It has existed for centuries.

    • @amonratpeavy9717 on February 2, 2026 at 3:03 pm

      TY 👍🏻

    • @txt4r on February 2, 2026 at 4:06 pm

Dr Berg needs to get to the point instead of list 100s of bad effects first

    • @ellencameron6214 on February 2, 2026 at 4:06 pm

Modified corn starch (e.g., Glycosade) is designed to digest slower, resulting in a more gradual, sustained release of glucose compared to the rapid blood sugar spike caused by regular cornstarch. It provides a more stable glycemic response, making it superior for managing overnight hypoglycemia in glycogen storage disease (GSD).

  12. @RosePhillips-e8l on February 2, 2026 at 11:52 am

    That’s why I don’t eat stuff in a box.

When was it introduced in mass into our foods ? Asking for anyone that’s noticed the obesity difference in old pictures between the 70s and now.

    • @Anonymousey44 on February 2, 2026 at 12:30 pm

This is a good point. Wondering this too.

    • @YeshuaKingMessiah on February 2, 2026 at 2:07 pm

It’s been in baby food forever
My brother was born in 68 and I used to feed him and take bites of his fruits, they were thick. I got older and was babysitting in late 70s and noticed it on labels. I asked my mom n she told me it was always in there.
He (& I assume me too) also had homemade formula from evap milk and corn syrup. It’s amazing we functioned at all as children or at school. Humans can tolerate a lot of physiological abuse. My brothers had 2 cancers and I’ve fought obesity, esp central obesity (worst kind) my whole life.

  14. @jewelgirl514 on February 2, 2026 at 12:11 pm

Maltodextrin=Splenda, what stevia sweetners as well not all are pure Stevia, the add maltodextrin as the first ingredient. I found it on a mayo label the other day. Juat have to read everything, they hid all of this stuff in our foods, fillers…thank you Dr Berg!
I stick to fresh veggies and buy my meat from a small farm and I know the person who owns it. It’s a shame not everyone can do that…

    • @YeshuaKingMessiah on February 2, 2026 at 1:56 pm

      Splenda is not maltodextrin
      It is sucralose
But some sucralose has maltodextrin added
Splenda isn’t good for u either tho even if u find it w/o additives
Use stevia and monkfruit with or without erythritol or even erythritol alone

    • @straubdavid9 on February 2, 2026 at 2:35 pm

@YeshuaKingMessiah I believe that allulose is another good sweetener.

    • @ViaVeritas on February 2, 2026 at 5:18 pm

In Finland, a man sold organic stevia, but large companies took his company away, and he said that now they mix other substances with it. :/

    • @falbucklin101 on February 2, 2026 at 5:42 pm

@ViaVeritas he is correct. Look at the ingredients on the green stevia packets. I used those packets for a while then I looked at the ingredients. First one is dextrose next ingredient is Stevia leaf😮

    • @YeshuaKingMessiah on February 2, 2026 at 5:45 pm

      @straubdavid9yes

  15. @PeeeKaay on February 2, 2026 at 12:15 pm

This ingredient should be BANNED !!!

    • @ROBERTMOELLER-m9y on February 2, 2026 at 12:23 pm

      Yeah, I think Kennedy will get around to that, he’s already banned 16 additives w/a total of 36 coming l o l 😅 yow 😮 !!!

  16. @MyJameelah on February 2, 2026 at 12:17 pm

Thank you, Dr. Berg for being such an excellent teacher.

    • @Drberg on February 2, 2026 at 2:19 pm

It’s a pleasure, truly appreciate your support!

  17. @AnonymousWon-uu5yn on February 2, 2026 at 12:54 pm

    It needs to be illegal.

    • @stanspb763 on February 2, 2026 at 4:27 pm

It is too profitable so no legislator would dare eliminate it. Some countries so not use it and you can see it in the general health of the population and lower cost of health care. Billions of dollars are gained by making Americans some of the most out of shape people on earth due to what is allowed in processing to explode profits. I moved from the US 25 years ago and see very few people who are out of shape. I never see obese under 50 years old, every one is so healthy and spend far less on food. I have not seen an overweight girl under 40 in 10 years in a city of 5.5 million. So to where young people gather and they are all so fit and active, and overall have a reputation of being the most attractive and educated in the world.

    • @edwardgarcia2544 on February 2, 2026 at 6:47 pm

      No

  18. @Janesmithy on February 2, 2026 at 1:08 pm

Cornstarch=natural thickening agent, you could make in your kitchen. MOD cornstarch=made using chemicals.

  19. @curiouscat3384 on February 2, 2026 at 1:37 pm

I even found maltodextrin in a supplement sold at my local health food store. They’re usually good at vetting sources but they didn’t know about this until I asked after seeing dr. berg talk about it several years ago.

  20. @PhantomFilmAustralia on February 2, 2026 at 4:01 pm

This method of waffling on throughout the video only to reveal the answer at the very end isn’t a strategy that hooks me in with eager anticipation to find out what it is. It makes me tune out and not care, and I watch something else.
