Thinning Hair? It’s NOT Your Age!
Are you losing hair and don’t know why? It’s not your age. It’s not just your hormones. The real cause may be a hidden mineral deficiency that over 30% of people are lacking and it’s rarely tested by doctors.
This essential mineral plays a major role in hair growth, scalp health, and cell regeneration. Without enough of it, your hair may become thin, brittle, or fall out.

How much zinc should you take a day?
All of it.
@@Geardrive427-ip8vj😂😂
15mg zinc to 2mg copper.
I would say 25mg but make sure you are taking copper through a multivitamin or alone by itself. I’m 63 now, my hair started falling out around 40. Every stroke of a comb would pull out 5-10 hairs. 4 years ago I started taking Zinc and dropped the carbs and my hair no longer falls out and I have even noticed new growth. Note* This will not cure male pattern baldness but it does stop hair from falling out.
That’s great to hear! Zinc and lower carbs can definitely help reduce hair shedding, especially if there was a deficiency or inflammation involved. It is important to add copper too.
25years almost no beard growing about 6 months ago started exercising a supplementing Zinc/Magnesium daily and almost have a full beard now. It works
Can you please explain about daily excercise or zinc magnisium intake?
@@osmanrasheed40 I went to a Naturopath and learned to read the label.
All magnesiums are not the same. Pay attention to the second word and study them. For example, Magnesium oxide is not good for the body. It’s the cheapest least useful.
Magnesium glycinate is better for you.
Calcium carbonate is ground up seashells and worthless, even harmful, but Calcium citrate is better. Too much to write here, that’s why we need Dr. Berg.
Happy about your positive experience however, my partner has been taking those products for males getting bald….he’s now on month 14, and his regimen contains vitamin a, biotin, zinc and other vitamins that I now don’t remember on the top of my head, then he also takes finasteride and minoxidil. No improvement whatsoever in 14 months. Baldness is same and the beard and the hair that he has it’s the same, not even growing faster or longer which normally happens with minoxidil. So it doesn’t work for everyone. Supplements are good but zinc didn’t work for him.
@@yoursugarismine Did you guys do blood work? To see if he’s absorbing those nutrients?
@@yoursugarisminedoes he take steroids?
Thanks for preparing the video lovely dr Eric Berg
also i have a question
Dose caffeine block ZINC in our gut?
thanks for any one who answers me😊
Does this apply to women, as well?
For women is also important to take iodine..every day 3-5 drops
Zinc, Vitamin D3, Vitamin A and a healthy diet. Those are some of the vitamins and minerals you really need to maintain your hair.
And from real foods not synthetic isolated vitamins that do not exist
Beef liver contains all these nutrients and even more.
How much zinc do you recommend taking
@@eloisapastrano5646I eat around one pound of beef liver a week.
@@eloisapastrano5646 Between 15 and 30mg daily should be fine and be sure to get copper as well so you don’t grey as fast.
Thank you for reminding me of zinc.
This is not true, I personally know people on the carnivore diet who eat tons of zinc and no carbs, and they are still bald after years on the diet
I think heredity plays a big role aswell
male patterned baldness ,inherited from mothers family line
Not very good, baldness, even if Diet is very good
Dr.Berg please talk about Tonkat Ali.
I think not only zinc. Why we have same diet since your youth but then just hair thinning when getting old? That is hormon balance and digestive system becomes weak (not strong enough to absorb enough substance). Strengthen digestive system and try to balance hormon are keys
Zinc affects the male hormones that control fertility also ..
What a coincidence, I literally went to the doctor today to get a blood test for zinc and selenium.
You need PRP and a lot of meaty items for hair growth. For hair growth always use derma rolling and use alcohol to clean the bacteria of derma rolling after using it. Use 1.5mm micro needling for hair growth.
ALL hair loss is not caused solely by a Zinc deficiency.
Correct, not all hair loss is from zinc deficiency. It can also be caused by stress, hormones, thyroid issues, or iron deficiency.
….And genetics. Nice work Doc 🤦🏻
@@Drbergexactly, I had a complete hysterectomy at 64 and my hair thinned a lot. Is there anything that can be taken for this?

@@Drbergthen why did you suggest that, knowing very well you will mislead people?
Thanks for this.
Most welcome. Thanks for watching!
If you decide to take zinc supplements, make sure they include copper (zinc can deplete copper).
Thank you 🙏 Dr Berg has the magnesium with zinc 😅
You can’t take both at the same time
@@TaylorPhasewhy not?
@@LightVibesthey compete and cancel each other out. You can’t absorb both at the same time. Some people say take zinc in morning and copper at night
Thanks doc you are best
Thank you so much Dr. BERG ❤
Most welcome, Yolanda!
I tried everything…everything. The only thing that worked was a zinc and copper combo. Thanks, Dr. Berg.
I did the same for my dad. I got him zinc & copper, plus magnesium, potassium and d3 for sleep. It worked! He´s like reversing his age
@laurelharris1081 what brand and dosing do you take? 🙂
@@HairExtensionsJarneEggs and meat. Eat these daily and no need to supplement

@@sfrealestatedealmaker6001A veces huevo y carne no lo solucionan. El.stress es un factor determinante. Como huevos higado, carne ,todos los días, pero padezco SIBO, eso lo arruina todo. De igual forma, muchas gracias
Magnesium as well.
If you are deficient in vitamin d and despite getting it enough for the day, it might not be properly absorbed due to magnesium deficiency.
I have been bald for over 30 years, can my hair grow back?
Maybe you never know
I don’t zinc so.
