I took ACV as a diabetic, but I monitored my blood sugar as every diabetic should (I’ve been keto almost two years, and my blood sugar is under control.)

    • Peggy Vorse on July 9, 2022 at 11:42 pm

And by the way I intermittent fast too, that idiot what’s the difference on your medication if you decide to intermittent fast it’s gonna drop too low.

    • Carbage Man on July 10, 2022 at 3:37 pm

@Peggy Vorse I don’t know what you tried to say, or to whom.

    • Carbage Man on August 10, 2022 at 9:03 am

@Mindful Muscle You should have told me that four years ago. I’ve been keto ever since. There is no substance for your “heart disease” claim. I continue to get healthier. Go troll someone else.

    • Sasha L on September 18, 2022 at 6:31 am

Does ACV drop blood sugar too low?

    • Carbage Man on September 18, 2022 at 4:44 pm

@Sasha L Some say it does.

  2. Liz and Skatz on September 18, 2020 at 9:30 am

↖️We have loads of it!! Get through a bottle a week and it’s helped with indigestion when we were eating a carb heavy diet. Now we’re 100lbs down between us and we use it to stem hunger whilst fasting (keto/IF) and we’re waiting for blood results as to whether hubby has reversed his type 2 diabetes πŸ’•

    • Liz and Skatz on September 23, 2020 at 5:50 pm

@Reyes R Tellez For quite a while really. We started on keto/IF properly in late May and we’d lost quite a bit by the time we got to the end of July. Have a peek at our channel Reyes and you’ll see the timeline there. I use a tablespoon in the morning in my green tea, another in my water 500ml for walking (2 hours + per day) and then some before bed in my chamomile tea as it helps me to sleep which is a very important factor in weight loss. Hope this help Reyes. You shouldn’t take any if you have an ulcer but otherwise, I’d go for it as it’s amazing stuff. I had an ulcer years ago owing to large amounts of anti-inflammatory medications being prescribed and never truly recovered in the stomach area until I started taking ACV xxx

Dr Nick. Along the same lines as “not all health food is necessarily good for everyone”, you should do a video on collagen supplementation, and how some people might be sensitive to certain proteins.

      I agree.

  4. Lauren McCullough on September 27, 2020 at 3:46 pm

Funny. I’ve been taking a tbsp every morning and I have never felt better. I dilute it with water because I’m not an idiot.

I always drink 2 tbsp diluted in 500mL of water every morning before my first meal. I’ve been doing this for 4 months and lost 9lbs already:) I’m also doing intermittent fasting 16:8 so it helps a lot in my diet journey.

  6. theDiabeticBeast on October 29, 2020 at 6:54 pm

Hey Doc I had a reaction where my blood sugar went very low. Don’t know if it was a bad mix or not. This was just before eating and after having taken short activity jnsulin. The only case with me it wasn’t ACV but it was a clear type vinegar in Italy but due to the reaction it dropped my sugar so quick I needed to treat it before the main meal. Are other vinegars stronger than ACV ?

    • Dr. Nick Zyrowski on October 30, 2020 at 2:25 pm

Not necessarily, ACV is a pretty strong vinegar

    • DarkLinkAD on January 4, 2022 at 11:20 pm

Its by % on front. 2.5% kills most bacteria and is ideal for pickling. 5% is standard ACV in the states. 10% Ive seen over seas.
Ive also heard of some 3rd world countries using a propane derivative, likely related to acetone (for cleaning)

  7. Asia Aliyah on December 8, 2020 at 1:03 am

Hold up…Why would you take a full glass of acv? Sheesh. A tablespoon or half shot will do.

    • Ann Muni on July 27, 2022 at 1:26 am

  9. Dancing Nancy on March 14, 2021 at 10:36 am

I did keto with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day for months and lost 70 pounds within a year. I’ve stopped and I’ve put about half that back on, I think I’m going to get back into.

    • canadien superman on June 13, 2022 at 10:21 am

that is the main issue with keto you can never stop or you regain it back

    • Hege Lianne Williams on August 29, 2022 at 7:31 pm

@canadien superman Yup. I gained 3x the weight I lost on keto. In like 2 months. And it ain’t coming off.

    • Brian Josephy on November 7, 2022 at 2:37 pm

Thats because keto makes you drop water. If your not eating carbs your body will drop allot of water

    • Marcia Diebold on November 16, 2022 at 3:27 pm

same here! I am starting to gain again with same carbs without ACV!

  10. BB_BB_BB on April 21, 2021 at 2:15 am

    things not to do:
    1. keep drinking acv if you experience burning
    2. drink acv without asking doc about interactions with meds
    3. drink acv if you have low potassium levels
    4. drink acv if you have signs of an allergic reaction

    • Woozy Cool on March 29, 2022 at 5:57 am

@Majeel Glover I once had the worst gastric issue ever, it was exactly at the left side of chest, basically felt like a heart attack. Except for the fact that, I wished that it was just a heart attack, I’d survive or die within an hour, get it over with.
Instead, that gastric pain stayed on that left side for like, a week. It slowly numbed out and disappeared, but it sure took it’s sweet time.
Turns out, even if lying on your left side is a good position to lie down after consuming food, it doesn’t matter how bad, you NEVER try to sleep it off after a hearty meal. Maybe if u had a literal small bite or two, u might be able to avoid acidity issues by lying on left side. But if u noticeably feel fulfilled, then nope. Slap yourself, keep yourself awake.

@Woozy Cool I can Soooooo Relate!!! You are absolutely right!!!! I have acid reflux and I know that I should not go to sleep or lie down after eating but I’ve done it before and OH MY GOODNESS 😱, I’ve regretted it BIG time. 😱 The pain on my left is the worst and the scariest! Once I realized exactly why this was happening, I was relieved but also this reaffirmed that I truly cannot play around! I must not eat anything after a certain time. I can no longer chance being tired and falling off to sleep after I have eaten late. 😳
Anyway, yup, I know Exactly what you’re talking about! That’s some serious pain!!! 😳 😯

  11. Krystal My on June 9, 2021 at 11:22 pm

Apple cider has taken the pitting in my lower legs away. I still have a little fluid but not anything like it was. That is even after I stopped keto. Still very minimal. I love drinking apple cider. It must help your kidneys alot too.

Great. Some of the symptoms can be your body’s healing reactions.. the body doesn’t work instantly. Sometimes you see the greatest purge and health crises after introducing a new or strong purgative.

This is something to consider that I don’t think that Dr. Nick mentioned in this video.
So it may not be that you can handle vinegar, it may be that you don’t understand how the body purges. Causation does not equal correlation.

And yes of course something with the PH of vinegar can affect your teeth.

Hello. I’m interested in tinctures. I wanted to ask for advice, if possible. I have a few herbs and I couldn’t find them in a more bioavailabile form sadly (Wild indigo, tongkat ali, tribulus terrestris). I’m thinking about making a few tinctures myself. Do you have any experience in making a vinegar-based tincture? If so, I would like to know if in your opinion vinegar of approx. 3.3% acetic acid (less than 4%) is sufficient. Unfortunately, I can’t use glycerin (I can only do something simpler) or alcohol. With kind regards, Jon.

Great video DOC thanks, I was wondering if skim milk is recommended for people suffering from acid reflux as an alternative to whole milk or would you recommend soy or almond milk instead of skim milk ?

    • o0Avalon0o on August 30, 2021 at 4:12 pm

If you don’t want to take medication for it, I’ve had results from increasing my vegetable consumption (broccoli, green beans, peas, etc) while decreasing acidic triggers such as soda, tomato sauce, twizzlers, H.F. corn syrup.

Milk isn’t an acidic trigger but can be if taken with a large meal, as any large meal can cause acid reflux regardless of ingredients. If milk is causing you stomach pain/ digestive issues, it’s more likely lactose intolerance & can be resolved by drinking plant-based milk or lactose-free milk.

Best of luck, I hope that helps.

I remember drinking it with lemon and so many people recommended to do that but I felt ulcer pangs. I also was recently diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. I also had acid reflux and gastritis. So, I think it just hit me wrong. It’s best to dilute and drink them at different times in my opinion.

    • Nika on June 27, 2022 at 5:43 pm

It’s the lemon. It’s acidic. You should avoid it. Terrible advice when people say drink half a lemon on empty stomach. Terrible!!!

What’s really odd is I’m type 2 diabetic. 3 months ago my blood sugar was averaged at 333. For 3 months I’ve pour a quarter cup of organic apple cider vinegar with the mother into a cup undiluted and shot it down in one gulp before bed.
Today my blood sugar was 89. It averages At 97. Kinda amazing huh, the best part is that not 1 doctor, pharmaceutical company nor drug store is making a dime
