In this video, we’re going to talk about the best and worst foods when dealing with a kidney problem.

The kidneys are composed of complex filters known as nephrons. A proper diet is crucial to support these nephrons.

If your nephrons are damaged, you may end up with a build-up of phosphorus, potassium, and sodium. It is essential to avoid junk food and minimize eating out.

One of the leading causes of kidney damage is diabetes, which comes from high blood sugar. Avoid sugar and compounds that act like sugar in the body, like refined starches.

Drugs, alcohol, certain medications, smoking, and ultra-processed foods all destroy the kidneys. Seed oils like corn oil, soy oil, cottonseed oil, and canola oil contribute to inflammation and damage to the kidneys as well.

Here are eight superfoods to include in your diet if you’re dealing with kidney damage:
1. Low phosphorus protein (sardines, salmon, cod, and sea bass)
2. Spirulina
3. Fermented foods (sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles)
4. Avocado
5. Extra virgin olive oil
6. Cottage cheese or goat cheese
7. Vitamin D
8. Baja Gold sea salt

If you have kidney damage, you’ll want to avoid foods that are high in oxalates, lectins, and tannins. Avoid things like nuts, spinach, meats high in phosphorus, eggplant, potatoes, beans, and grains.

Cat scans to examine damage to the kidney can also be very damaging. Opt for an ultrasound or MRI to assess kidney damage if possible.

If you have kidney disease or kidney problems, you can still consume vegetables. The following vegetables are safe options for people with kidney issues:

    ✨✨✨2 questions: ✨✨✨
1.) Wondering if you can make a video about iodine supplementation and how it does or does not assist with cellular saturation? The sublingual form, such as a 5% solution. Just wanting your opinion and suggestions on this topic. I was told to begin iodine therapy but am unsure due to the side effects, doing my research.
2.) I need to detox my liver, kidneys, and have low cortisol across the day, I saliva tested. I’m anemic and have many skin issues. What can I eat?!! What should be my ideal diet?

    • @thomassaddul on December 26, 2023 at 1:51 pm

Just eat fatty meat. That’s all. You will thank me in a few months.

    • @XOChristianaNicole on December 26, 2023 at 5:40 pm

If it’s iron deficiency anemia — I’ve started including a bit of fresh oranges, when eating beef (it’s the best meat for anemia).

You could do a 1/2 cup of orange juice, also (I do fresh oranges, to get the pulp/fiber).

The Vit. C helps iron absorb more effectively — up to four times better.

If you are anemic from B12 deficiency — HCI with betaine/hydrochloric acid with betaine.

This will help the body absorb the B12 more effectively, also.

Also, if it’s B12 — you could get methylcobalmine B12 liquid supplements; as it’s more absorbed into the body, easier, also.

I know a B9 deficiency can contribute, also — though, I have yet to learn much about that, yet.

      Oh, also..

I’ve been taking dandelion root extract, in an empty stomach — it helps clear the liver of biproducts, especially, estrogenic.

      Best wishes.

I go to a Recovery Cafe in Muncie, Indiana. One 75 year old with kidney problems is always asking me what I recommend. Others in the group are also tuning into my nutritional comments, much of which comes from Dr. Berg videos. I am going to turn them onto this video. Because many of the Recovery Cafe members are addicts with digestive problems due to drug abuse, this video and others will help educate them. Thanks so much for all your due diligence.😊😊😊 I believe the Recovery Cafe started in Seattle Washington but is all across the country. It’s so supportive and so are you. Thanks again Dr. Berg!!!

My cat had end stage kidney disease. Was on an IV drip for most of a month. Difficult to get it to eat even a tiny amount of food. It was a skeleton! I cured it completely so you would never think it had kidney disease. I gave it as much colostrum as it would eat every meal for 6 months. And it worked very quickly! Every day from day 1 he was noticeably improved from the day before. It’s the growth hormone. Oh yes, and he was 17 years old. Just some info someone might find useful.

      Colostrum in what form (pill/powder/liquid)?
From where (specific brand name) from vet/pet store/amazon?
      How did you administer?
Put in food or bottle/inject liquid in mouth?
