Let’s talk about the top foods that deplete nutrients. You need to be aware of both sides—foods that provide nutrients and foods that lead to nutrient deficiencies.

Limit or cut out these things that deplete you of nutrients:
1. Raw egg whites
2. Refined sugars
3. Refined grains
4. Alcohol
5. Caffeinated beverages
6. Trypsin inhibitors (soy, grains, beans, nuts, seeds, nightshades)
7. Tannins (tea)
8. Excess calcium or consuming a lot of dairy without enough leafy greens
9. Oxalates (spinach, beet greens, almonds, almond flour, chocolate, Swiss chard, grains, beans)
10. Phosphoric acid (soda)
11. Phytates (cereal)

Consuming these things can deplete you of important nutrients, including:
• Biotin
• Vitamin B1
• Zinc
• Magnesium
• Vitamin C
• Certain amino acids
• Fat-soluble vitamins
• Calcium
• Iron
• Vitamin B3
• Chromium
• Copper
• Manganese
• Vitamin D

These nutrient deficiencies can lead to a myriad of symptoms. One of the most common nutrient deficiencies is magnesium, which has a lot to do with energy production. Learn more about magnesium and energy in my other videos.

Very good information, Dr. Berg. But please explain how should we prepare some of these foods that are healthy (beans, nuts, spinach, beets…) but not healthy if eaten raw. So people don’t eliminate them entirely. Thank you! ❤

    • @liveloveride1676 on October 26, 2023 at 10:38 am

Are foods high in oxalates good for you?
Should you avoid it? People who tend to form kidney stones may benefit from a low oxalate diet. However, healthy people trying to stay healthy do NOT need to avoid nutrient-dense foods just because they are high in oxalates. Oxalate is simply not a nutrient of concern for most people.

Exactly. I know my coffee consumption wrecked my electrolyte and vitamin levels. Only one cup a day now. It was just like drinking too much water and dying from lack of sodium. I’m on the path to recovery now and feeling good with that D3👍🏼

All you need to do is offset the caffeine intake with hydration and electrolytes. A good rule of thumb is 2:1 water intake around the time of having a coffee. And for myself I take homemade sodium pills, potassium and magnesium with my water. Just a couple times a day, not with every glass. Take care.

Any time you constrain yourself to one source, you run the risk of consuming biased information or even worse content just for the sake of getting views. Broadening the information source would be the solution. Normally YT does not recommend you many new channels if you keep watching every video from a single channel. The workaround would be to directly search for a specific topic and watch other channels. Then the algorithm will start promoting those new channels to you later on even if you don’t subscribe to them.

    • @efrem_1167 on November 5, 2023 at 9:31 pm

@@DayaluGauraDasa Problems with some vitamins deficiency can especially occur if nuts are not soaked, if seeds are not germinated and if legumes or grains are not germinated. But common legumes and grains especially, are usually too high in carbs to be worth the vitamins they may contain, even if they are properly sprouted.
So only nuts and seeds would be worth the effort, anyway.
To me it seems lupini beans have the least amount of carbs off all beans, with only 15-20g of carbs per 100g, and are also quite omega 3 rich and high protein (30-40%), but lupini beans need 3-5 days of soaking in order to become edible. If you cover their carbs with fiber (for example from a big salad) it would be ok.
That is my opinion. You can take it in consideration or not.
As for the fitness personalities, they usually do a lot of anaerobic exercise, which usually asks for a certain amount of carbs, higher than the average person. So that may be the reason why they eat some grains or beans and don’t gain that much weight, for example, or they don’t feel bloated.

I believe this 💯. I’ve become strongly gluten intolerant and couldn’t really explain what it was to the doctors because I had SO many symptoms. Each doctor just gave me several types of pain meds and labeled me with having 3 different auto-immune diseases and chronic asthma. I’m only in my early 30’s, I exercise and am at a normal weight range for my height! What was going on?? I got an allergy test for gluten and dairy and it came back negative, yet since i gave up all gluten and have limited dairy/caffeine, my symptoms have all vanished. Neropothy, numbness, extreme dry eyes, dry skin, vertigo, stomach issues, bowels issues, joint issues I could go on. I am in the healing process now. I believe this is true that grains, especially in America, deplete your body’s minerals. Food used to be of better quality. I wish we had higher standards for soil quality and food quality here in America. It truly feels like we are being poisoned. Anyone else have similar experiences?

    • @jameslivermore4481 on October 27, 2023 at 12:20 am

Similar with me. I picked up a book titled “Wheat Belly” at a library. I followed everything the author told me to do diet-wise and it was incredible. I don’t have debilitating gluten intolerance, but cutting out all grains, gluten, and refined sugar for even a couple of days made everything better. Once I ate something rich in wheat flour, grains, gluten, or sugar, I became bloated, less energetic, and not as mentally sharp.
