Let’s talk about the interesting benefits of wheatgrass.
Typical wheat products like bread and pasta are made with the seed, or grain, of the wheat plant. Wheatgrass is the actual plant that the seed grows on.
The type of wheatgrass used in wheatgrass juice is at an early stage—usually less than ten days old.
I think how healthy wheatgrass is for you depends on what it’s grown on. Wheatgrass grown on soil may be more beneficial than wheatgrass grown in other ways.
Wheatgrass juice powder may also be more beneficial than wheatgrass powder products. Wheatgrass juice powder is more concentrated because it doesn’t contain any fiber.
One of the advantages of wheatgrass juice powder over wheatgrass powder is that people can consume it even if they can’t consume fiber.
Unlike grain, wheatgrass is gluten-free and is low in anti-nutrients, tannins, and oxalates. Wheatgrass juice powder grown on good soil is low-carb and rich in vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, and amino acids.
However, I consume wheatgrass juice powder for two main reasons:
1. 70% of wheatgrass is chlorophyll
2. It’s rich in phytonutrients
Both chlorophyll and phytonutrients have a wealth of beneficial properties. Research is also being done on using wheatgrass for a genetic type of anemia called thalassemia.

I was anemic during pregnancy and started drinking wheat grass and my iron levels went back to normal. Also my first time ever consuming it, I had the best energy boost I’ve ever felt… after the initial nausea from drinking it on an empty stomach 😅

@Don’t Fit nope not at all (never have been) I ❤️ meat ☺️ even during my pregnancy I was eating meat, no problems there…. But I was not eating a healthy diet either. I enjoyed way too many unhealthy sugary carbs 🙈😭 anemia can happen more easily during pregnancy I believe. I’m no expert either.

I think molokhia ملوخيه in the Middle Eastern cuisine is exactly like wheatgrass. Dr Berg should cook it and tell us if it’s a good alternative 🌱😊 yet I still think if it’s a product from Dr Berg ( wheatgrass) it’s going to be brilliant 🥤😋

@fsdxfsd11 I assume other African countries have it as well, not only North Africa, and it is a sort of mallow. I guess that what ancient Egyptians got the name from Malo changed to Molo- Khia , and Khia in hierograohic meant : poison 😅 First Egyptians thought it was poisonous because it has a laxative effect, then the story says profit Joseph was the first who tried to actually cook and it turned out to be delicious!

Quitting wheat has definitely improved my health — my intestinal discomfort is mostly gone. If only I had learned about this 20 years ago, I could have maybe avoided lots of unnecessary suffering. But in world’s wheat basket, wheat is everywhere.

I think American wheat is bred with a higher gluten content than European wheat. Some ppl claim they go to Europe and have no bread issues. Also fermenting the dough before baking neutralizes some of the gluten from what ive heard such as sourdough.

this would explain why I feel more energised after a wheat grass shot. where I used to live there’d be a juice place in every mall. Tray of fresh wheat grass like shown, wearing gloves they cut off a bunch and juice it, done. I never expect any juice or supplement to make me feel better. But this always did. 👍
The chlorophyll gets oxygen to your heart helping you feel more energized. Good stuff.
I’m sure it’s great for lots of people, but when I started adding it to smoothies my girls & I got really sick (stomach pain/diarrhea). Kale also makes us really sick. We switched to all-purpose einkorn flour for bread & baking and all of our wheat/gluten sensitivity went away.
They both tear me up. I usually puke it up so no diarrhea

I found that my bread addiction was tied to the addiction to the excess fats I was eating with it, butter, cheese etc. So I’ve adjusted my diet to have protein every day (eggs, or fish, or beans) and sprinkle crushed nuts in soups and on salad, for a healthier fat. Its been x1 week and so far it’s working, I only had 1 slice of bread with fat in 7 days. My goal is to give up bread completely.

This iced drink is the most satisfying and energizing drink for working all day in the hot, windy west desert of Utah. Severe burning pain in my knees for 20 years. Stopped consumption of wheat, pain gone in a few weeks. Still pain free 5 years later. I know what I know for myself. Can’t speak for others
I had needle-like pain in my hip joints. I dreaded even going to the store and buying groceries, it was getting to the point of me riding around in an electric grocery cart scooter and I didn’t want to get that started. I went off of gluten and it took two weeks for the pain to go away.
It’s been a while, but I used to drink the water as I sprouted the wheat berries. My skin, hair and nails loved it. Getting back into that practice ASAP. For the B vits, fermentation, and C. I’m thinking all that is needed for life is present in the seed. The berries I would put on a salad raw. Tasted like fresh bread to me!!

I’m 32 now, I’ve had joint pain, especially in my knees since I was 14. At first I thought it was just growing pains, then I thought I had bad genetics for joints. Eventually, I came across the idea of perhaps my diet was effecting me, as when I traveled I noticed my inflammation levels changed in conjunction with my eating habits. Fast forward to finding keto and wow what a difference. After about 2 weeks, I noticed that my wrist pain that I’ve had since freshman year in college was gone (I broke my wrist and it had bothered me since) and then I noticed that going up and down stairs no longer bothered my knees. I kept doing keto for a few more weeks and then wanted to test it. So I went on a carb heavy diet. Nearly a week later I could barely turn my wrist it hurt so bad. I did several more keto on and off rotations and the results were the same every time. On keto my joint pain is nearly non-existent and on my old diet the inflammation is nearly crippling in comparison. I would challenge anyone who suffers from chronic pain to try keto and give it a month to see full results. You won’t regret it…
Same basic experience here. I am 60 though 😂. I have not actually went off keto. I do cheat from time to time and I see changes. Dr Bergs version of Keto works for me.
