Let’s talk about Ozempic. Ozempic is an injectable drug that’s used to help people lose weight. Yes, it may work. But it’s expensive and has serious potential side effects.

Ozempic increases a certain receptor that helps slow down digestion and decreases appetite and cravings. It also helps restore insulin levels and blood sugar levels.

Potential side effects of Ozempic can include:
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Bloating
• Abdominal pain
• Headaches
• Gas
• Constipation
• Diarrhea
• Heartburn
• Dizziness
• Thyroid cancer
• Suicidal thoughts
• Pancreatitis
• Kidney disease
• Retinopathy
• Muscle loss
• Gastroparesis

The question is, will Ozempic really solve your weight loss problem without giving you a different problem? How about an alternative? Thousands of natural chemicals in plants have therapeutic health benefits with rarely any side effects.

The best natural remedies for weight loss:
1. Panax ginseng
2. Berberine

These home remedies for weight loss are great to use in combination with changing your diet. The best diet plan for weight loss is the Healthy Keto® diet with intermittent fasting.

Not only will the Healthy Keto diet and intermittent fasting help support weight loss, but they also help reduce hunger and cravings. This is a weight loss plan you can do long-term and at a fraction of the cost of Ozempic.

The top benefits of the keto diet that go beyond weight loss include:
• Improved cognitive function
• Better mood
• Enhanced liver function
• Preserved muscles
• Healthy digestion

I love how he mention that you may find help from plants❤️ Im from Finland so those exotic plants are quite hard to find ..but we have our own plants that helps too.. best is that in Finland you can go and pick up anything in forest for free. We have forest like everywhere so you dont have to travel ..even in capital city you just open door and there is forest :D. Finns have roots deep in our kulture with forest. We are ofc not as popular as asians. Well i guess everyone regonize wooden sauna 🙂

    • Spam Mouse on August 30, 2023 at 11:46 am

Not sure which Finland has more of: Forests or Lakes? 🤔 In any case, welcome to NATO ! 👍👍👍

    • Αgapy on August 30, 2023 at 11:48 am

Saunas and angels in the snow. Most exhilarating.

    • P L on August 30, 2023 at 11:51 am

@Spam Mouse Haha tbh im not so sure either but id guess forest..Anyway per capita we have both quite much. Also we have one of cleanest air on earth. Im truely happy I born in Finland.

Hi Dr. Berg. I think one piece of the puzzle is the nutrients. Some people eat to find the missing nutrient or vitamin to fill the void. I found Fish Oil (Omega 3) was something that also will help. A balanced diet is good as long as you find the nutrients/vitamins that may be missed.

    • Rebecca Towner on August 30, 2023 at 11:51 am

Definitely truth in this. I didn’t realise I had pernicious anaemia and was really deficient in B12. During that time I had a raging appetite and wanted to eat all the time. This dissipated once I got diagnosed and was given B12 loading shots. My body was urging me to eat more and more, desperately trying to get more B12.

    • TooTall Dan on August 30, 2023 at 12:08 pm

@Rebecca Towner Yes. I have the MTHFR gene mutation so I use natural sources. Plus, I use Nutritional Yeast since I gave up bread too.

    • Bianlinka on August 30, 2023 at 12:16 pm

That is my theory but not a lot of people belive me. I noticed this with my dogs.

  6. Andy /// on August 30, 2023 at 11:47 am

Doctor Berg, the 2nd week of May 2023 I started your apple cider vinegar program and two meals a day this may just be a salad. I mostly do what I call semi dirty Keto. As of last week I have found myself several times just doing one meal. I have also found that I can go off of the program for one meal about every week or week and half and I still lose weight. I was 204 lbs at the start. As of this morning I am at 177.5 lbs. My target weight was or is 170 lbs not sure if I can go lower or if I should. For the understanding I have learned from your videos. I will say thank you! PS I had the eight and seven transposed. It is now correct. Down 26.5 lbs.

    • Spam Mouse on August 30, 2023 at 12:08 pm

Well done Andy, include exercise as well.

    • L G on August 30, 2023 at 12:47 pm

      All the best.

    • Andy /// on August 30, 2023 at 12:55 pm

@Spam Mouse I just made some corrections on the first post. I am actually at 177.5 but to answer your question. I am on medical social security and I am not supposed to lift over 10 lbs not even 5 lbs consecutively. Exercise will happen if or when my doctors clear me. As my weight comes down I have been able to do little projects around my home since being on Doctor Berg’s program. I also take a number of vitamins per his video suggestions. I am planning to ad berberine. It is not likely that I can ever hold down another job for medical reasons. My last job last 32.8 years so I feel I have done enough. Maybe some urban farming call it an elevated garden.

    • Spam Mouse on August 30, 2023 at 2:01 pm

@Andy /// Thinking about someone I met a few years ago he was confined to a wheelchair because of years of drug abuse, he still managed some upper body exercise. Maybe discuss with your medical team about what you can do, I’m not saying be a gym-bunny but every little helps in the long run.

  7. Gulden Akinci on August 30, 2023 at 11:58 am

I use it from 2022 february to 2023 march. I didn’t loose weight, actually I increased from 106 kg to 118 kg. It helped my bloodsugar to decrease. My dietist said I should it 6-8 meals per day, because I always ate max 2 meals per day normally one meal.
My conclusion is that this ozempic is good for people who eat a lot and not have other complications like high kortisol etc. I have multidiseases and I never eat much but became fat because of other diseases, protein leakage, high bloodsugar and pressure, big fat liver, gall stones, a lot nodules in my thyroid, vitamin and deficiency, inflammation, acl rupture in both knees and no meniscus so I can’t walk long or rapid. Ozempic kan help help people with only diabetes or insulin resistance or who eat a lot.

    • Dr. Eric Berg DC on August 30, 2023 at 12:05 pm

Thanks for sharing your experience. Wishing you good health!

    • Gulden Akinci on August 30, 2023 at 12:16 pm

@Dr. Eric Berg DC thanks to God I saw your videos and I started your keto diet with if. My diabetes disease is gone now, thank you very much Dr Berg. After 5 weeks keto I started to get hungry directly after a meal, starving. And my weight loss has stagnated now. What shall I do?

Thanks for this info! I’ve been doing strict keto and fasting now for 3 months and lost 15 kg so far. If possible, could you make a video talking about different obstacles to longer fasting? Despite taking electrolytes, supplements and wheatgrass juice, I always start to feel dizzy, weak, and confused around the 48-60 hour mark and have to stop. I don’t get hungry, I just get these other uncomfortable effects. Only thing I haven’t taken is amino acids and E. Could those be the culprits? I’ve no idea why I can’t go any longer.

    Hello Dr. Berg
I recently started intermittent fasting specifically in the mornings and I’ve noticed it has helped with weight loss and cravings. I love that you promote the healthy versions to good health. Thank you ❤

Thanks, Dr. Berg. I have struggled with getting control over my eating habits for almost 10 years now. I heard good things about Ozempic and thought it could be for me. I’m having second thoughts now. Thanks!

The easy approach to losing weight always comes with a potential death sentence. January 2022 started Ketogenic diet + MOAD + walking every 8 miles other day = October 2022, 50 lbs lost, best blood test ever, stopped 7 meds with guidance from doctor. I’m still at it today.

  13. Rick Guillo on August 30, 2023 at 2:14 pm

Dr. Berg – Can you share recommended daily amounts or dosage of both the Panax Ginseng and the Berberine? I suspect it might vary by weight, age, etc. but even a range would be helpful. Thank you for all you do! I first learned of you via a friend that shared on FB a video of yours on insulin resistance, crediting you and the video with why he was finally losing some stubborn weight.

  14. Jørgen on August 30, 2023 at 2:21 pm

I used Ozempic for over a year, and it really helped me as I experienced zero side effects and I didn’t get hungry and if I ate something sweet like a cake, I got nauseous. But I quit using it as I wanted a more natural weight loss through a keto diet and I didn’t want to depend on a drug in order to stay permanently healthy and slim. But if it helps a lot of obese people lose weight when they can’t do it through diet, then it’s an overall good thing. It’s better to risk side effects of ozempic than to stay obese get the guaranteed side effects of being obese.

Seems simple, but I recently had a moment of clarity with Keto. Been doing Keto for awhile now (thanks to Dr Berg) and wasn’t really losing much wait. Then I decided to WRITE down my calories, carbs and protein for each meal and it changed everything. I didn’t realize that although I was eating low carb and healthy, I wasn’t eating enough protein and was eating a little too many calories. Keeping track definitely helps keep me on track. Knowledge is power right?! Also, Dr. Berg’s nutritional yeast flakes are a great way to increase your protein without a spike in caloric intake. His electrolyte powder too is a must. Especially for extended fasts.

Thank you for being most transparent, Dr. Berg in reference to the Ozempic trend and showing that it is a choice to make if you’re ready to deal with the other symptoms but there are alternatives as you said I appreciate you listing them😊

  17. bk luvr on August 30, 2023 at 3:25 pm

My A1c dropped 50% after naturopath put me on berberine. I’m no longer pre-diabetic. I’m a very fit healthy hiker of normal body weight so having this issue to begin with was eye opener. Thank you Dr. B!

    • K Booth on August 30, 2023 at 5:08 pm

How much did you take? I took some for a month but don’t think it’s strong enough.

    • Zeynep Yurter on August 30, 2023 at 5:41 pm

Have you used it together with Metformine ? Have you ever used Metformine at all ?

  18. Steve King on August 30, 2023 at 4:01 pm

Low-carb plus intermittent fasting (18:6 at the moment, though I did do OMAD for a couple of months) plus berberine helped me drop over 50lbs over the past 18 months, almost effortlessly. Even when I consciously slacked off over the summer to enjoy fresh fruit and barbecues etc, I still only gained back 3lbs due to the rest of the changes to my body and metabolism and that’s already dropping back off. Currently 172lbs @ 6’3″.

    Good advice here, thanks!

  19. joshua kincaid on August 30, 2023 at 4:04 pm

Even though I know this video is talking about the drug itself and alternatives. I always like it when doctor Berg does a deep dive and talks about other topics in the video as well. Like different supplements and eastern vs western medicine.

  20. Thaddeus Crane on August 30, 2023 at 4:11 pm

Your videos literally have changed my life. 115 days intermittent fasting OMAD every other day. Along with your Keto energy and k2 as well as the electrolyte powders and moderate exercise I have lost 65 lbs. I feel more like a machine now and consider food as fueling the gas tank. I am not hungry the entire 47 hours I don’t eat. It is literally a lifestyle and I want to thank you for being many peoples guru for a better self!
