Let’s talk about one of the best remedies for eczema, also known as dermatitis or atopic dermatitis.

This is a skin condition where you have extreme dryness and sometimes a red rash or itchiness.

Typical eczema treatments, like steroids, have potential side effects. So, we want to focus on natural alternatives for eczema.

This condition could be due to a deficiency of essential fatty acids caused by a poor diet or a genetic problem.

The #1 remedy for eczema:
• Black currant seed oil (GLA)

What to do:
1. Take five drops of black currant seed oil and rub it in your hands to warm it up. Then apply it to the affected area.

2. Take a black currant seed oil supplement or a few drops with water orally.

I had this a while ago, due to a cold snap at that time, and I tried first tamanu oil, which has improved it a lot but didn’t heal it completely, until I bought Dr Berg’s D3 & K2 supplement. Honest to God: it was completely gone in 3 days. We honestly can’t thank you enough for helping us with every health issue, and updating us with info all the time 😊

But that stuff smells, do you wear it over night then wash in the morning?

    • Sabrina and husband on April 13, 2023 at 5:02 pm

@Anonymous you mean tamanu oil?! It smells a bit like grass in mud, yes at that time I used to apply it at night only , but if you’re going outside during the day time, you can apply it on the affected hand and wear gloves.

@Grace Cotton they just did allergy test i have not got the results yet and she a picky eater basically simple foods like rice and beans some pancakes and soups she wont change or try anything new i been trying creams all kinds you think if i try the black curannt seed oil will help I haven’t tried it is it safe around eyes too, I been giving her a medicine at night for her to sleep which it’s for allergies but that’s it and aveeno lotion

    • celly R on April 14, 2023 at 11:49 am

@Jaseeka Rawr where can I get this oil?!

    • Grace Cotton on April 14, 2023 at 1:05 pm

@celly R What type of beans? What type of soup? If they are from tins, make a list of the contents from the tin label, and then we can check them out. They may be O.K., but I have to be very careful, myself, with tinned food.

I do not know about blackcurrant seed oil, only that blackcurrants, themselves, are supposed to be high in salicylates.

    • celly R on April 14, 2023 at 2:06 pm

@Grace Cotton where can i get this stuff?

    • Grace Cotton on April 14, 2023 at 2:48 pm

@celly R You didn’t answer my questions. If you don’t sort your child’s diet out, you are setting yourselves up for big-time trouble. Search through Dr Berg’s videos for how to feed small children who are fussy eaters.

    It comes from leaky gut!
I had to take heavy antibiotics when I was 12, and at 16/15 I got eczema… and my dermatologist looked at my history and said “oh yeah you had staph infection very common to have eczema afterwards, almost 100% likely!”

    • thisisyol on April 13, 2023 at 1:07 pm

do you mean gastric ulcer when you say leaky gut? Sorry, no native speaker.

    • Michelle Turpin on April 13, 2023 at 8:09 pm

@thisisyol no, leaky gut syndrome is very different than gastric ulcer.

Thank you for your tremendous dedication, hard work and effort you put into all your videos. You don’t realise how you much you help people all over the world Dr Berg. I truly admire your work ethic, your honesty and great understanding . Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it’s really appreciated ❤. I just wanted to ask, what would you recommend for one who suffers with salicylate sensitivity? I’ve almost given up on life at this rate, I can barely eat anything 😢

    • Fozia Ar on April 13, 2023 at 12:39 pm

@lombmusic07 thank you I’ve always been plant based, only have fish now and again, so it’s so hard to adjusting to life without fruits & veg. Most days I feel like I can’t even eat anything it’s so depressing. Or I’m so scared to have anything or I might have a bad reaction or flare up. This leaky gut is no fun.

    • Fozia Ar on April 13, 2023 at 12:40 pm

@lombmusic07 just hard finding foods that I don’t react to,

    • Maria CANCER on April 13, 2023 at 3:34 pm

Thank you so much for your videos! I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((r

    • Doug Roberts on April 13, 2023 at 3:38 pm

@Fozia Ar I would recommend listening to Dr. Chaffee on YT. He only recommends a carnivore diet. I know you said you’re plant based, but maybe this is the problem according to Dr. Chaffee. Best wishes to you and never give up

    • Fozia Ar on April 13, 2023 at 4:25 pm

@Doug Roberts thank you I really appreciate your kind words 😊

  6. vfranco on April 13, 2023 at 10:48 am

I had it in my hands, refused to keep with the cortisone and started applying aloe pure bio gel every hour. And gradually the eczema disappeared 👍
And now I always wear gloves when dealing with cleaning products, my fault!!!
But I will keep this video in my favorites list 🤪
    Thank you Dr Berg!!!😊

    • Dave Myers on April 14, 2023 at 12:17 am

but also, be aware that some disposable gloves are manufactured using chemical accelerants which can themselves cause contact dermatitis

  7. Yankee 🌹 Rose on April 13, 2023 at 11:08 am

  8. J. Clarke on April 13, 2023 at 11:35 am

Many members of my family have a salicylate allergy. From aspirin to food. Symptoms range from projectile vomiting to severe eczema. The eczema flair ups are related to high and accumulative salicylate load. This is something else to try…

  9. Czyz on April 13, 2023 at 11:47 am

Not too sure if this will help anyone but I was having eczema for the past 15 years, had it over my arms and neck, cured myself for free and within one week. That was about a year ago and am still free of eczema. What I did was fasting for 3 days. None of the doctors I was seeing told me about it. I did my own research.

    • Czyz on April 14, 2023 at 10:55 am

@Queen Ruth I’m trying to eat only 8 hrs a day as a rule but obviously in a real world it doesn’t always work this way, I keep my diet low in carbs, no chocolate, bread, pasta, potatoes etc

    • Joshua Elias on April 14, 2023 at 1:46 pm

Fasting has helped my skin as well, i still struggle with it some days and when i do i pay for it with skin issues. Fasting is the only thing that’s helped me. I do take black seed oil as well

    • mona Alsir on April 14, 2023 at 2:16 pm

This our Muslim month of fasting (Ramadan) we fast from sunrise to sundown no eating no drinking my eczema started to fade didn’t need any diet my normal routine.

  11. catitude4 on April 13, 2023 at 2:45 pm

I’ve had this since I was young. It started when I pierced my own ears and wore earring that weren’t gold, I was 14 so not the best decision making. In my 20s it was all over my left hand and fingers. Went to doctors and they were useless so I suffered with this for years. One day I got it in my mind to try the stuff you use on athletes foot. This killed it and I never had it on my hands again. I still use it when I get a stubborn spot. It is like little water blisters.

I’ve had some circular eczemas around my body lately (they usually appear after a mosquito bite) and I was looking for something to heal it, right now! You seem to put out valuable and life-saving videos on time Dr. Berg! Thank you so much!

    • Linda Sue on April 13, 2023 at 5:20 pm

You sure it’s not tinea aka dermatophytosis commonly called ringworm (it’s NOT a worm!😊)? The thing about them is that they are round.

    • tilly9749 on April 13, 2023 at 6:05 pm

@Linda Sue I had circular eczema years ago. Having had ringworm before I thought that was what it was. Went to a derm and he scraped it and dx circular eczema

This Doctor needs to be cloned and put into EVERY medical school to re-educate doctors with correct information about HEALTH. He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way.

Perfect timing. Saw a dermatologist yesterday for some issues I’m having with my skin and turns out I have eczema. And yes, a steroid cream was part of the suggest cream. I’m always very hesitant to take anything with that or any meds for that matter. I would rather try something more natural so I’m going to try your suggestions first. Thank you!

  15. Craig Forbes on April 13, 2023 at 6:36 pm

Dr. Berg. Thank you for continually researching remedies to these common and serious ailments we all face. You are a national treasure, and I agree with other commenters that we need more of you out there. Hopefully one day you may look into a remedy for PMLE outside of a light box.

Thank you, Dr. Berg. I don’t currently suffer from eczema, but I have in the past, due to very high stress work situations. So this is good info to refer back to.

I got severe eczema in the mid 1990s all of a sudden. I am convinced it was gut related as that’s when glyphosate started being used widely on crops. I’m sure that I wasn’t getting great nutrition with the gut problems. It wasn’t until I started eating organic more exclusively that my skin problems cleared up.

  18. GiOS on April 13, 2023 at 8:17 pm

I had eczema on my hands from my teens well into my forties. I’ll never know if I had the genetic predisposition to it, but I do feel that my high carb, high sugar diet made it worse. There’s also the stress factor. Since I retired, I’ve been practically eczema free, along with mostly eliminating grains and cane sugar from my diet and increasing the fatty acids.

All those years of suffering with itching and cracked hands. I wish I could time travel to my past self and tell her what I know.

  19. Wren Social on April 13, 2023 at 10:30 pm

Thank you Dr. Berg for your videos, absolutely life changing! Just wondering if you believe DHA and EPA deficiencies in a vegan diet could have led to recurring eczema presentations. Thank you!!

  20. Fiona F on April 14, 2023 at 1:32 pm

Can you do some more videos about eczema? It seems to be very common based on your comments! I’m from London, England and I tend to have more eczema during the winter than summer months so I don’t have it all the time. They tend to disappear when I go on holiday to hot countries, so it feels like I’m actually allergic to cold weather! 😂
