Let’s talk about the best natural remedy for pain or inflammation. If you’re on a COX-2 inhibitor or another type of pain medication, this video is for you.

Many people take certain medications that are COX-2 inhibitors for pain relief, but these medications have a lot of potential side effects.

It turns out that there are genetic weaknesses for inflammation and pain. If you have a problem with certain genes and you also experience the right triggers, you may have more pain and inflammation than other people.

In my opinion, the #1 best natural COX-2 inhibitor is willow bark. Aspirin was actually discovered through this natural plant. It also contains incredible phytonutrients with additional benefits.

Other natural COX-2 inhibitors:
• Turmeric
• Bromelain
• Boswellia

Here are a few additional things you can try if you have a genetic weakness for pain and inflammation:
1. Omega-3 fatty acids (while avoiding omega-6 fatty acids)
2. Vitamin D
3. A low-carb diet
4. Magnesium
5. Vegetables
6. Folate, vitamin B12, choline, and vitamin B1
7. Intermittent fasting and periodic prolonged fasting
8. Infrared therapy
9. Probiotics
10. Cold water therapy
11. Avoid smoking and alcohol

Garlic reduces pain in the body , it’s also anti-inflammatory, strengthens the CNS – central nervous system.

@Zakaria Abderrahmane Sadelaoud I use garlic in the morning on an empty stomach , peel clove or two, chew and swallow, very good for many many health benefits including suppressing appetite, fighting pathogens, reducing inflammation, thinning blood, boosting immune system response and so on 🙏.

    • Johnny Magee on January 6, 2023 at 11:36 pm

I try to avoid garlic after 6pm as it is a stimulant and has disturbed my sleep at night

    • Jav carulli on January 7, 2023 at 5:08 am

Garlic is a stimulant and is highly acidic learn from dr sebi

    • Pamela Timbush on January 7, 2023 at 7:35 am

      @Johnny Magee
I NEVER knew garlic was a stimulant 🤔.
Well I need to eat more then for energy since I have none anymore 😔…course I’ll not have it at night at dinner (bummer) since I already have insomnia from chronic pain.

I just settled on a fasting schedule monthly cycle. 1-3 weeks: 6 days OMAD, 1 day fast. Week 4: 4 days OMAD 3 days fast. I’m excited to see how much progress I can make this year! I lost 100lbs in 2022 and it’s mostly thanks to the things I’ve learned from this channel, so thanks!

  6. Rob Gardner on January 6, 2023 at 11:44 am

Hi Dr. Berg. Would Willow Bark still have the anti cancer properties as aspirin or was it the fact that it reduced inflammation that made it anti cancer? Great informative videos by the way. Top of my YouTube subscriptions!

    • G. Dixon on January 6, 2023 at 12:26 pm

Aspirin is made from Willow Bark.

    • Rob Gardner on January 6, 2023 at 12:31 pm

@G. Dixon I know that, sorry. My question was that since Aspirin had been mooted as anti-cancer, would willow bark be more or less effective given it was the more complete set of compounds, including salicylic acid.

    • G. Dixon on January 6, 2023 at 1:26 pm

@Rob Gardner truly speaking extracts have a greater potency and are more complex than a derivative. But I’m sure you can find that on a reputable herbal site or a record bowl medical site.

    • Jonathan Heywood on January 7, 2023 at 6:59 am

@Rob Gardner the natural product is always better

  7. Disha V on January 6, 2023 at 11:50 am

Hello Dr.Berg, I have a question regarding the joints in the knees. Majority of the elder people(60+) around me are have knee pain due to cartilage erosion. I was wondering what could be the reason. And most importantly, how can I take care of the issue so that I don’t have any problems in future. Thanks

    • Lynda Rina on January 7, 2023 at 8:42 am

@Wen Thank you. I am going to start taking unflavored gelatin for my chronic knee and back pain. It’s inexpensive and available in almost every grocery store. How much do you take daily?

    • Disha V on January 7, 2023 at 9:05 am

@Wen ya but I think I don’t have any right to kill any innocent animal

    • Wen on January 7, 2023 at 4:49 pm

@Lynda Rina I don’t currently take any. In the past I’ve mixed 6 or more spoonfuls of beef gelatin in broth and consumed it that way. It also seemed to make my skin stronger, firmer.

    • Wen on January 7, 2023 at 4:54 pm

@Disha V it’s a law of the animal kingdom. There are prey animals and predators. Humans are prey (mountain lions, bears, wolves, etc will kill us if they have a chance) and predator. Lions don’t have any guilt about eating other animals, because they require the nutrients only animals provide. There’s no guilt eating what you need to be healthy and live. That is how your body either was designed or evolved, depending on your beliefs. Everything dies at some point. Just because you don’t eat an animal to provide sustenance, doesn’t mean it will live forever. Death for your (human) consumption is more merciful than being chased and torn to pieces by a wolf, etc.

    • Randomness Personified on January 7, 2023 at 6:16 pm

@Disha V Ok, then you will need to search for the word knee on the home page. Assuming you see it the same way that I do on my computer screen: Directly to the right of “ABOUT” (just under Dr Berg’s picture at the top), there is a magnifying glass symbol (a circle with a line sticking out). Click that symbol and a box appears. Type “knee” in the box, and press the enter key. A list should come up that way. If not, then sorry, I don’t know what’s going wrong for you, as it works fine for me. Good luck! 🙂

The other thing is nigella or black seed oil, if added as drops to any daily hot drink; like tea or coffee. It’s helping with recent cold I have. Thanks for the info Dr Berg 🌸

    • Joy Hanson on January 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm

be careful for omega 3 to omega 6 ratio.

    • Sabrina and husband on January 6, 2023 at 1:06 pm

@Joy Hanson Thanks for letting me know.

    • Hyper Gamer Legend on January 6, 2023 at 2:26 pm

The oil is good but not the best. The best is the seeds and get organic and raw seeds. I grind it up and take a tsp almost daily

    • Sabrina and husband on January 6, 2023 at 2:55 pm

@Hyper Gamer Legend In the Middle East both are used: the seeds are always associated with bread and pastry, but the oil is praised more, and traditionally is recommended almost for every disease.

My Mom was terminally ill with multiple tumors and she could only tolerate White Willow Bark for months until it got really bad of course.
Thanks for this info. I take curcumin everyday but have white willow bark on my list to grab this month so this video came at the right time

    • Light4theWorld on January 6, 2023 at 5:34 pm

Please tell me where you can find this curcumin and will ow stuff.

    • Margie on January 6, 2023 at 6:03 pm

    • Dennis Delfina on January 6, 2023 at 7:03 pm

@Light4theWorld make sure it contains black pepper. You can also get a Costco and Amazon.

    • Becky D Holistics on January 6, 2023 at 8:12 pm

@Light4theWorld I am in Canada and purchase my items wholesale. ‘Can Prev ‘ has some great curcumin options. White Willow Bark can be found on Amazon. We have natural food and supplement stores in Canada and these can be found there

  14. Vanessa Lee on January 6, 2023 at 4:55 pm

Thank you Dr. Berg! In 2018 my husband flared up with a rare life threatening autoimmune disorder called Granulomatosis with Polyangitis after taking Levaquin. He nearly died causing systemic inflammation and damage to his organs and nerves. Previously a very healthy athlete, he became bedridden and had to learn to walk again and now on Rituximab (chemo) for life. The neuropathy in his feet has been the hardest part as he refuses pharmaceutical drugs of any kind now. I will try willow bark to help him with his chronic pain. Thank you!

    • voicesinthewoods on January 7, 2023 at 1:52 am

Whoaaaaaaah! I got totally poisoned by Levaquin too!
Major inflammation and ended up dealing with mast cell activation in the stomachs from it and allergic reactions and inflammation. Was fighting for my life every moment for 2 1/2 years and still healing up 5 years later!
      Doctors deny it was levaquin.
But I was totally fine, until the doctor gave me that when I passed out from dehydration from a flu. Said the gave it to me as a “precaution” in case it was sepsis. But it wasn’t. It was a flu. And took bloodwork showing no signs of infection.
Levaquin freaking sucks!!! I hope your husband heals up.
What has helped me is juicing a stock of celery every morning (whole thing) and drinking that on an empty stomach and waiting a 1/2 hour before eating or drinking anything else.
      And taking turmeric.
      Colonics helped too.

      Levaquin sucks!!!

      Hope your husband gets better!

    • Carol Bowen on January 7, 2023 at 4:34 am

@vanessalee35-I was diagnosed with neuropathy in my feet even tho’ I’m not even pre-diabetic) Came home and found Dr. Berg’s video-started taking ALA, BEFOTAMINE AND VIT E. PAIN WENT AWAY IN 15 MINUTES! I try to eat lecithin rich foods (like Pasture raised eggs to build up the Myelin sheath that was being destroyed by glycation (hamburger on a bun w. ketchup anyone?) I also do foot exercises to increase circulation-all helps-I only experience slight “burning” once in a while and immediately think-WHAT DID I EAT? HOPE THIS HELPS 🙂

    • Vanessa Lee on January 7, 2023 at 6:50 am

@Carol Bowen thank you so much for your response and advice. You are exactly right, when my husband eats too much sugar he immediately pays for it with burning and neuropathy pain. His rheumatologist told him food has no effect on his disease but it absolutely does. So grateful for all these responses. My main goal is reduce his pain so he can have a better quality of life. It affects our entire family when he is in pain because he can’t be present for our children when he is just trying to endure.

    • Vanessa Lee on January 7, 2023 at 6:55 am

@voicesinthewoods my husband was prescribed Levaquin + steroids for a sinus infection with no warning of possible side effects. Don’t understand how a black box medication could be used for these purposes. Thank you for your tips. Wishing you health in this new year!

    • ibra S on January 7, 2023 at 7:14 am

      Hope it helps him

  15. Sidera17 on January 6, 2023 at 7:55 pm

This is SO exciting to learn. I have really strange immune regulation issues (too little response or too much but never the correct response). Doctors are still puzzled and can’t figure out what this “officially is.” I’ve had to take ibuprofen at immunomodulating levels like candy every day which is going to be horrible for my GI tract, but they are the only things that seem to work. I suspect in my case whatever is broken has to do w the immune factors you specifically mentioned. It will be great to try the willow bark and see if it works as a safe alternative for my stomach to manage this. Thank you!!

  16. Ankit Chaturvedi on January 6, 2023 at 9:01 pm

Hi Dr. Berg, thanks for the detailed information. One question though, how regularly we can take vitamin B12 & vitamin D if we are pure vegetarians

  17. Yusuf Egbeyemi on January 7, 2023 at 12:10 am

Dr. Berg Your videos have helped me a lot. I just started my Keto journey and I gotta say I feel much better, and it’s only been 3 weeks. I was wondering if you could make a video on Lipoma and how to reduce it on the body. Thank you in advance.

  18. Adam Chenal on January 7, 2023 at 4:23 am

Dr. Berg! You must be getting graces from God to explain these things and have the wisdom and knowledge you do about medicine. I know to you some of it seems common sense but this knowledge is not, especially when it has been purposefully withheld for so long. God bless you in your work Dr. Berg!

  19. West Coast on January 7, 2023 at 4:43 am

Amazing video Dr Berg!! I’ve been following your advice with the cold shower therapy and after 2 weeks my muscle soreness is completely gone!☺️🙏 I’m also sleeping much better because I’m following all your advice. Thankyou so much!!👍
