Great points. Once my lab results for fasting blood sugar was high and my doctor wanted to prescribe medication, but I didn’t accept. Now I know the reason. I didn’t sleep that night so my blood sugar was high.

I’m confused about him saying blood sugar is higher after exercise?? I always thought exercise lowered blood sugar and that’s why you’re supposed to exercise after eating carbs and sugar. Can someone explain??

    • @libertariancountry3920 on December 22, 2023 at 4:40 pm

Because the body is using its own storage of fat, turning it into fuel to use. You’re not eating but you’re increasing energy burn.

Good to know. I was just diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I’ve spent the last year eating no meat, which led me to eat too many bad carbs. I was always hungry.

    • @KetoWorks on December 28, 2023 at 9:01 pm

I bet. Some of Dr Berg’s videos /articles on pre diabetes and on the difference between meats may be of interest.

    • @ohitsprivate6391 on December 29, 2023 at 5:01 pm

@KetoWorks  Yes! They have been. I ate keto-friendly for 20 yrs, while Dr. Atkins was alive, so I’m familiar with Keto. I am just tired of meat. I gouged on carbs throughout 2023 while living in my husband’s hospital room. Night snacking and daytime pizza was the menu. 40 lbs later, and I’m pre-diabetic. My fault! Hubby and I are back home, and I have started focusing on me again. Dr. Berg’s videos help a lot.

    Thanks Dr.Berg . I get it.

  9. @faithevrlasting on December 23, 2023 at 12:21 am

True, bit those other stressors do the same thing to the body- inflammation. The label doesnt matter. It does the same damage.

  10. @dennismoore2245 on December 23, 2023 at 12:25 am

Test it after a covid shot! It’s been high for weeks. Just coming back to normal after almost 3 weeks.

    • @silvianencheva527 on December 29, 2023 at 3:03 pm

Well he said sugar goes up during and after an infection, and vaccines sort of make the body act as if there is an infection going on, creating antibodies and stuff… so this might be the reason for your high results.

  11. @aztallon3597 on December 23, 2023 at 12:35 am

My fasting sugars can be normal upon waking and then I take a shower and it’s in the mid 200s. Without any food. Crazy!

    • @silvianencheva527 on December 29, 2023 at 3:05 pm

If you take hot showers, your body might perceive them as stress!! And stress raises sugars like nothing else …
