This is a life process. Don’t ever feel defeated just pick up what you learned throughout trial and error and eventually you’ll have your personal plan to stay fit. 🥂🥳 You can do it just take it little by little each day. Change comes with consistency and imagining yourself being the best you. ❤️

      How did it go

  2. hamingja_X on November 15, 2021 at 7:53 pm

Your journey is so similar to mine (which just started this spring). I lost 10 kg without actually making difficult changes. One day, the famous switch flipped and I started exercising 5 times a week and making better choices about what I eat (portion sizes, more fruits and veggies, no meat). And now here I am, still loving to exercise, feeling better than ever and I’m very close to finally manage a toe push-up. I’m so much more confident and even my lipedema can’t get me down anymore.

    • ione alexandra on May 27, 2022 at 8:06 pm

And what’s the problem with eating meat?

    • hamingja_X on May 27, 2022 at 8:09 pm

@ione alexandra I never said there was a problem, it was just the right choice for me stop eating meat 😊

    • Tuatha De Sidhe on June 13, 2022 at 4:42 am

@ione alexandra absolutely nothing, I’m gaining health, and muscle, and losing fat on carnivore.

That idea of having a fruit tea after dinner, giving you time to properly about whether you actually want a pudding, is a stroke of genius! I always crave something sweet after dinner. It’s too late for me to try this tonight 😋 but I’ll definitely give it a go tomorrow! x

    • Ohnoitsruthio on March 8, 2022 at 1:30 am

@FIFII fruit flavoured tea, not fruit. Also, you might have a gastrointestinal problem if a piece of fruit causes you that much of an issue.

    • FIFII on March 8, 2022 at 8:53 pm

@Ohnoitsruthio not something I experience personally but a nutritionist recommended that if you were to consume fruit, doing so before a meal will help reduce bloating. Like you said, fruit tea is different…

Really appreciate you Lucy! This year I finally just took the uncomplicated approach that you share and have lost body fat over a sustained period of time. I feel so proud of this slow + consistent approach. It honestly doesn’t feel super difficult because I was just eating the same foods, just making small switches so I hardly felt different while I lived a normal life. Some days I ate way more than normal, like at a fam dinner or gathering etc. but I didn’t stress about it. Over 9 months I’ve lost 14 pounds and I feel really good about that. Not too fast, not too slow. Not always consistent but that’s life. Thanks for all the info you put out. It’s very helpful to the rest of us that haven’t studied nutrition science! 🧡😘

I felt the same way as did many other of you guys liking this post, so much so that I paused it at the 17:32 mark and called a friend to share that same sentiment. It pretty much knocked down the walls standing in the way by simply scrubbing all your graffiti “knowledge,” of all the expert advice, to a four word phrase a child can comprehend, “Move More, Eat Less.” Your tips offered were as simple, but brilliant!! It was positive from beginning to I’m sure the end cause it’s still paused, but I’ve been on the move!!

This video came to me at the right time <3 Been working out for about a week now and limiting my calories while still getting to eat some of the things I like (never really liked sweets so I guess that's a plus) and I've lost over a little over 6lbs in the past week. I must say, skipping rope really helped. I do at least 900-1.2k daily and it's just so much fun. Got 3 inches off my waist and a half inch off my arms. I also do some 10-minute yoga after waking up and before bed and I found that it helps with my mindset. Once I started feeling light, I knew I had to workout again. I never want to feel that heavy feeling again. So excited for this change in my body and the positive thoughts it brings to my mind everyday.

Hi loved this is really inspired me thank you what spices did you use in the Moroccan soup please I can’t find in the description x

    • Rui Rui on May 16, 2022 at 2:20 am

what kind of after dinner desserts would you have before vs after you started your weight loss journey?

    • Acashy on June 12, 2022 at 10:28 am

I spied around on a few other Moroccan recipes, and here is what I added:

      1 1/2tsp salt
      2 tsp crushed coriander
      2 tsp crushed cumin
      2 tsp mild paprika
      1 tsp crushed cinnamon
      2 tsp chilli flakes
      2 tsp garlic powder

I didn’t add fresh garlic, instead I used chopped tomatoes with garlic with the powder as extra.
Not sure if these are the exact quantities or spices she used. But they are what I found to be common in Moroccan cooking. And the soup ended up tasting great 🙂

I really love this video. Thanks for showing healthy and sustainable ways of getting fit and healthy. I’m currently on my own fitness and weightloss journey and I’m down 11kg in 4 months. It’s all about portion control, making healthier versions of your meals, moving a little bit more and just adjusting here and there. Another thing that has helped me is NSV (non-scale victories) like pushing through a workout, being less tired, feeling better, clothes fitting looser, … . And most important thing: there is no bad food/food groups … you can eat carbs, you can have dessert, you can eat pizza. It’s all about portion control, making healthier versions of your meals, moving a little bit more and just adjusting here and there – NO restriction!

What you just described applies to relatively metabolically healthy people and who are not utterly addicted to (bad) carbs/sugar. Know thyself. Are you a moderator, or should you be an abstainer? Great example: moderators can buy a bag of chips or cookies. Then have a few and come back later so late that your treat has gone stale. However people that need to be abstainers are those that buy the same treat, but find that they’ve consumed it all in a rapid period of time. Or if trying to moderate your consumption of it is like psychological torture…

  9. allthingseve on January 6, 2022 at 10:19 am

Thank you Lucy, today is my first day in diet after the “lightbulb moment”. I lost 25kg and gained them back the last couple of years, so here I am back on track. Your video is very realistic.

    • Baby Cakes on March 6, 2022 at 12:40 pm

@allthingseve That’s the problem with diets. The weight will always come back. I did that too and the moment I stopped dieting the weight was coming back with a vengence and more. Now I changed what I eat and I don’t need to died anymore. My weight shifts 3pounds up and down, but I don’t need to worry that I will gain 15 pounds in 2 weeks. Best of luck to you. You can check Chef AJ an all her guests, that might give you some god ideas too.

You can definitely do this. Don’t forget this is a lifestyle change, not monthly change. 🫶🏽 Don’t feel defeated, just pick up the keys you’ve gained from trial and error and eventually you will have your meal plan down packed, your workout plan down packed. Change something little by little. Baby steps and build that momentum and one day it’ll just be in your nature to make good choices without thought. 🥳🥂

    • Kristina Isakovic on August 6, 2022 at 11:58 am

Make small adjustments and take your time! It took me almost a year to lose 8 kg I put on but I was losing about 1kg per month or month and a half. Don’t restrict yourself and try to move your bofy whenever you can. You can do this!

  10. Ashanti Green on January 20, 2022 at 12:27 am

Out of dozens and dozens of YouTube videos, i honestly love this the most!
A lot of what you said, my doctor told me as well. Like smaller portions but sticking to what you like, and it doesn’t matter what exercise you do walking is perfectly fine and underrated!
So not only was this very informative, but it was honest and good advice. ♥️

  13. Super_goop on March 22, 2022 at 5:11 am

You are spot on. The exercise is an acceleration for what you’re already doing with just the right diet/ deficit. The kind of exercise doesn’t matter, as long as you’re active, you’ll lose fat faster. Also you lose fat EVERYWHERE, not just one place. You can’t just target your stomach or just your arms, because it’s doesn’t burn in one place of the body. It’s burns all over. ❤️✨ keep up the great advice!

My elder mom was obese most of her adult life. She spent thousands on diets, and Weight Watchers. I was stuck w/ her during Covid, I eat healthy (long-time healthy vegan) and did the cooking, she went from 2-3x to size16 and has maintained it. We learned much of her health issues were solved by not eating dairy. She has muscles for the first time, she can kayak, and she had a healthy colonoscopy. Learning to eat healthy as a lifestyle is the best investment in our health. It is wonderful you were able to make this change at a young age. My siblings have diseases from their lifestyle choices. Great video.

I just stumbled onto this video and I am so glad I did! Excellent advice! One question I have is how long are your workout sessions? Mine normally go from an hour and a half to 2 hours (3-5 days a week) and I feel I am maybe overdoing it, as I feel the motivation to do workouts this long the next day starting to wane. I also go indoor rock climbing 2 times a week.
