Dr I have a question.. another Dr said his nutritional yeast supplements don’t cause yeast infections but they have. Why would they?

    • _carnivore_joe on April 21, 2023 at 3:49 pm

I just had my yearly checkup with labs after being carnivore for a little over a year. My blood work has never been better. After more than a year of eating nothing but beef, eggs, and butter. Full of saturated fat. Sometimes a dozen eggs in one day along with 5-6 pounds of ribeye steak, snacking on butter from time to time, and cooking beef fat trimmings. My total cholesterol dropped 17 points. My HDL went up 10 points. My LDL went down 25 points, and my triglycerides went down 113 points. My kidney function improved from 80 to 90. In that year, I lost 150 pounds, reversed type 2 diabetes, reversed high blood pressure, reversed low testosterone, and no longer suffer from autoimmune arthritis issues. I was also able to come off all medications.

    • Luiza on April 21, 2023 at 7:06 pm

      @_carnivore_joe Bravo! 👏😊

The man who uses himself as an experiment. Wooow….
You deserve an award for risking it.

    • Dr. Sten Ekberg on April 21, 2023 at 11:54 am

Thank you @francisnartey2585. I appreciate that, but so far only the SAD diet has been a risk. The rest are more like cleanses. 😄

  3. Navi Nathane Charlotte on April 21, 2023 at 10:23 am

I do not even need to watch, because I have been eating Bacon, Eggs & Butter for 2 years. It cured my fatty liver, improved my blood chemistry and I have feel stronger than ever.

    • Stefanos Prokopis on April 21, 2023 at 11:58 am

Do you eat the bacon with nitrates?

    • Navi Nathane Charlotte on April 21, 2023 at 12:01 pm

@Stefanos Prokopis well, to be honest is not really bacon what I eat. I buy thick slices of pork belly, I salt them and put them in the fridge. I ate a couple every day for breakfast.

    • Stefanos Prokopis on April 21, 2023 at 12:10 pm

@Navi Nathane Charlotte ahh ok. You know I ate pork ribs today for breakfast. I’m fasting today and will wait 25 hours to eat again. Not easy after 12 hours I’m getting hungry but I can’t eat now especially since I have covid induced heart arythmia. If I eat before I go to bed I will feel like I’m having a heart attack.

    • Dr. Sten Ekberg on April 21, 2023 at 12:21 pm

Thank you @navinathanecharlotte6787. Good for you. 😄

What else did you eat with the bacon eggs and butter

  4. angelfriend on April 21, 2023 at 10:31 am

Thank you for this video Dr. Ekberg. It is important information because I tend to quit my ketogenic lifestyle when I go on a two week vacation to visit family. I eat out a lot, and I’m not careful because I do keto all the rest of my year. This video made me a little scared. I’m not thinking about how all that is hurting me, so thank you for changing my focus about vacation eating. Hope you have a great weekend!

    • Dr. Sten Ekberg on April 21, 2023 at 12:33 pm

      Thank you @angelfriend3710 😄

    • Jan VdB on April 21, 2023 at 2:37 pm

I do the same but I still fast 16:8. I cant go to like India and not enjoy the curries and street foods. I just eat small portions and skip rice or bread always. There is ghee in everything.

    • Futura 2500 on April 21, 2023 at 2:57 pm

I do exactly the same on vacation normally to Greece, i can’t not enjoy all the greek food, so for 2 weeks i always break Keto/ low carb im not changing that tbh. also going to cornwall in June for 5 days – have to have a real cornish pasty and cornish ice cream, cream teas etc.

  5. Plumair Albannach on April 21, 2023 at 10:41 am

Thanks for your videos. I have totally changed the way I see eating, lost some unwanted weight but more importantly am putting things in place for a healthier future, thanks to your advice!

Thank you @plumairalbannach8492 for sharing your great results and helping inspire others. That is so awesome. I am thrilled that you have seen such great results. Keep it up! 😄

  6. Sweet Drahthaar on April 21, 2023 at 10:44 am

My grandmother ate that every morning for I don’t know how long. Most of her life. She was not obese. She lived to be 99.

    • Diesel Bourbon on April 21, 2023 at 12:45 pm

Mine was a couple months shy of 99. Bacon and eggs every morning. Butter on everything. She ate predominantly a high fat low carb diet with lots of meat. Chopped wood into her 90s. She had zero problems until she was put on statins by her doctor at 92. Two years later she had a stroke and it was downhill from there.
The greatest person I ever knew. She passed 16 years ago but I still smile about her everyday.

    • Sweet Drahthaar on April 21, 2023 at 1:21 pm

@Diesel Bourbon she sounds like quite a gal. My grandma came west to get away from the dust bowl, and I was foolish enough to not record all her great stories. She saw the invention of the airplane in the automobile and space travel. 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    • Ade Larsen on April 21, 2023 at 1:35 pm

@Sweet Drahthaar That’s pretty cool. I wish you good health.

  8. Sal Lazuka on April 21, 2023 at 11:07 am

Crystal clear! The results you had were absolutely amazing. I have a number of friends who could really benefit from following your program Dr. Ekberg. I’ve been following your teachings for two years now and can honestly say I feel better now than I did in my 30’s. I’m 67 now. Thank you.

Thanks for doing these experiments. I have been low carb for a year and carnivore for a month. Never yet had ketones over 0.3. Your health must be amazing. Congratulations. I am inspired to keep going.

    • Resist the Lizards on April 21, 2023 at 12:13 pm

Try fasting or the sardine fast. Eat nothing but sardines for 36 hrs (time starts on the first can). Also Bulletproof MCT oil in your coffee. Be sure you don’t have sneaky carbs like creamer or anything with Maltodextrin. Most keto products aren’t actually okay to eat if you want high ketones and weight loss/autophagy.
One other thing. Be sure you add fat to your meat. High protein just converts to glucose giving you and insulin spike and ketones go down.

    • Blue Sky 007 on April 21, 2023 at 3:50 pm

@Resist the Lizards Why sardine fast? What ITS correlation with ketones production?

    • Resist the Lizards on April 21, 2023 at 4:08 pm

@Blue Sky 007 Well, it’s zero carb, high fat fish that has all the omega 3s you need in 1 can and your sure as heck aren’t going to overeat them but you can eat a can whenever you are hungry. Overeat anything and you get an insulin spike (kills Ketone production). Man it worked for me. Hot sauce is your friend. Be sure it doesn’t have sugar in the ingredients of course. You could do a water fast if you’re up for it but most people aren’t there yet. It’s an intermediate step perhaps.
Sardines are definitely a super food to eat anytime though. Best kind of fat known to humanity.

@jammin Thanks. Im feeling good about it. Its not all about weight, wanna be healthier. Made keto brownies last night, and courgetti which was suprisingly pasta like. Cauliflower pizza base tonight

      ❤ 👏🏽 yay, congratulations

  13. Peter Johnson on April 21, 2023 at 12:00 pm

I have discovered this channel about March 30th and started intermittent fasting and eliminated junk carbs. I’ve been eating bacon & eggs for years and was stable at 216. Here it is the 21st and I weigh 205. I’m 5’11” and the ideal bmi says 160. I am not worried about getting that thin. But I feel more energized already and am going to make this a lifetime habit. I figure once I completely master this program my weight will settle exactly where it needs to be.

    • A Microtyger on April 21, 2023 at 1:53 pm

@Dr. Sten Ekberg I’ve been wondering for a long time, can a person follow all the correct foods for a keto diet, not do the proportions correctly, and still get a healthy cholesterol reading? 🤔

    • Missy Gee on April 21, 2023 at 4:44 pm

My boyfriend is 180 at 5’7″ and looks great but looks gaunt at 165. I don’t care what the BMI chart says, 160 at 5’11” is skinny and unattractive. 200 is a good weight at 6′ for most men. In my opinion, at your height, anything below 190 would be pushing it. But it all boils down to how you feel in your own skin.

    • Brandon Young on April 21, 2023 at 5:41 pm

Easy to say that about any diet that makes you feel good weeks into it. See how things go in a few months

    • JnA on April 21, 2023 at 5:42 pm

@Missy Gee I’m 5’7 at 149, which is what I weight at 18 (60 years ago). I was 195 for a long time and I guess friends are used to seeing pudgy-me. Now they’ll say “You’re too skinny”, when they look like basketballs. I don’t think the actual weight number means as much as where the weight is; muscles or spare tire. As I aged I was surprised how much muscle I lost, but with workouts it is coming back! Yay!

  14. Erik Swiger on April 21, 2023 at 12:12 pm

Mixing apple-cider vinegar with butter makes an amazing, simple, keto-friendly sauce/spread for so many things. I like it on baked chicken, with salt and pepper. Tried it one day because it’s all I had, and couldn’t believe the taste.

    • Karinya Boriskova on April 21, 2023 at 12:46 pm

Oooh, that sounds interesting. Will definitely give it a go! (I’m carnivore)

  15. Jeff Heer on April 21, 2023 at 12:12 pm

I can’t thank you enough. With your help I have figured out that I am insulin resistant and have had ketoacidosis! This has opened my eyes to the kind of diet or lack of diet I was on.

Once again a wonderfully insightful video!! You described my diet almost 100% while i was keto for about 5 years and felt very good on it. I love how you explain things and appreciate you getting more folks to understand nutrition and the true dangers from eating the wrong foods. Also so glad to see you dispelling the common myth of saturated fat being bad or unhealthy. And letting us know sugar, processed foods and seed oils are the major harmful players in metabolic unwellness. You are a true Health Champion!! And as a side note, i went 100% plant free full on carnivore over 1 year ago and my health exploded to the best i have ever felt even in my 20s. I am 57 now. I hope more people find your words of wisdom and begin their own journey to healthier living whatever works for them. Thanks again Dr Ekberg for inspiring me over the years!!!

Hi, have been watching your keto vids for years and appreciate your obvious dedication. I have learnt quite a lot from your youtube and it has helped me to turn my life around from eating crap food and now only eating whole foods. I have tried OMAD but very hard to stick to with work/social things going on. Either way, i fully appreciate your total honest advice and only wish that Drs like you were down here in OZ. Keep up the great work and advice and i will contiune to watch all of your new releases. Cheers from OZ

Hi Sten, congratulations for getting your blood work back to normal. Thank you for explaining everything. I have a query: for all your overseas viewers would it be possible for you to explain cholesterol with European and UK readings too as I have problems understanding the US system. 😊👍

  20. greenbeagle13 on April 21, 2023 at 2:59 pm

I am so thankful I found this channel. I have got a long ways to go. I had some catastrophic events in 2019 and 2020. I stopped everything, sat on the couch playing video game, watching YouTube videos (not this one, obviously), and just staring into the abyss of the internet. I ate and drank anything that could help get me numb. I pretty much gave up. I became obese and am on BP meds and recently started cholesterol meds. I was trying to start back at the gym, but my knee is arthritic and I can’t walk on it for a long period of time – hoping the new way of eating will help a little bit, and one of the worst things – edema. I get up all through the night going to the bathroom now. I have been eating “right” for about 1.5 weeks, and in that short amount of time, I am feeling better. I have to keep going. I want to get on the IF, but I am not good at that – yet.

    • Blue Sky 007 on April 21, 2023 at 3:55 pm

Good luck with your health journey. You can do it gradually. You still can have breakfast, like with eggs and bacon in small portion. Once you ready, you can do IF 14/10. Then improve it. God bless you.
