Please tell us what diet you would follow if you were diagnosed with cancer.Could you do the Cantin diet for 30 days?
@@JediStockTrader if I may chip in my 5 cents, I don’t know what diet would I be on… or what is that cantin (I didn’t look it up or heard about it), but surely first thing to do – restrict carbohydrate intake as much as possible (maybe even to 0g) – cancer feeds on sugar.. so I’d remove as much fuel as possible 🤷♂️ that will suggest to me either carnivore or paleo or ketovore.. 🤔
as I said it’s only my thoughts and impressions at the first glance, but we don’t know the details or situation of that affected person.. 🤷♂️
I know this much. When my body pushes out the potassium and I get stressed I can even get heart palpitations. Keeping it balanced and controlled is key. Thanks Doc as always schooling us 🙏
Excellent attention to your body, you rock! So many people are completely oblivious and just fearfully run to the doctor with “heart problems” for a drug to fix it…and get one, unfortunately.
How does your body push out potassium?
Salt is the only thing that stops mine. I have to carry it around with me. I tried getting as close to the 4,700 mg of potassium they said you need and I was still having palpitations and tingles. Had a comprehensive metabolic panel done and my potassium levels were at the highest end of the range.
Make sure you have a good level of magnesium in your diet as magnesium is vital for the potassium to be able to get into your cells. I take 500 mg magnesium glycinate each day.
Magnesium is required for the proper functioning of potassium channels, which are responsible for the movement of potassium ions into cells Hypomagnesemia, a condition characterized by low levels of magnesium in the blood, often occurs alongside hypokalemia (low blood potassium levels)
While magnesium is not directly involved in the transport of potassium into cells, it does help to maintain the right balance of potassium in the body 1. In fact, magnesium deficiency can lead to a decrease in intracellular potassium levels, which can cause a range of symptoms such as muscle weakness, cramps, and arrhythmias.

Thanks for the video Dr. Ekberg! I’m definitely going to use more olive oil on my food. I’m going to try to do more of a Mediterranean keto (minus the bread), and I think olive oil is important to do it correctly. I’m so glad you were so thorough in going over your blood work to see the effects instead of generalizing them. Being concise is really appreciated! I know I’m not the only one who feels that way. Hope you have a great weekend!
Interesting experiment. Thank you for sharing. One set of markers you did not address was Omega-6 fatty acid related. The 100 tbs of olive oil has about 1400 grams of Omega-6. An extra 14 grams of Omega-6 daily is a significant increase and would most likely affect the Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio. However, this impact may not be detectable after only 10 days.
Um your math is terribly off ,14 grams and day over 100 days is 1400 grams not 140
Thank you for pointing it out. Yes, it was a typo. I left off a zero. Thank you.@@greenstripes6663
Dr. Ekberg, there are no words to express how absolutely delighted I am that you’ve been such a large part of my keto journey.
Since very early this year, I have been doing 8 TBSP of cold-pressed EVOO every day (2 TBSP x 4). I ordered an NMR LipoProfile the other day and will get the blood draw done at LabCorp this coming Tuesday morning. It will be interesting to see if my particle information indicates I am over-consuming. Keeping my fingers crossed that I am Pattern A.
“8 TBSP of cold-pressed EVOO every day” …..Why?
@@venkvelaga I’m HFLC and EVOO is my preferred fat, with saturated fats a distant second.
Please share your lab works here? I am on 4 tbl spoons of EVOO/day of the highest quality from Spain.
@@ash9x9 Okay, will do.
Way too much. You should only eat 1 to 3 tablespoons a day.
Hello Dr. Ekberg. Your videos are so well produced and the information you provide to us is so valuable. I was wondering if you could cover how healthy bones are maintained in our bodies. Maybe covering how to increase bone density and how to build strong bones.
I lived in southern Spain for about a year, back a while ago, and I can tell you that olive oils sold in places here are only PART olive oil, mixed with other oils. I know this because fresh organic first cold pressed olive oils is bitter, with a distinct bitter after taste, and with a with a fruity olive taste. The xtra virgin cold pressed oil was served as an appetizer in basically all restaurants, bars, and outdoor food stands, along with salted fish, also in olive oil. That taste, though I tasted it decades ago, is incomparable to today’s olive oils.
I suspect the bitterness is from unripe olives. This is from the method of harvesting.
Nope, the olives are ripe when harvested. It is difficult to extract oil from unripened olives. The olives offered everywhere, as I said, as an appetizer, were ripe, soft, unsalted, fruity, and bitter. @@venkvelaga
I recently bought on Amazon olive oil made in Greece, and this oil is bitter. I was very surprised when I tasted it first time.
@@e.l.9397 You got a good quality.
I have heard from multiple people who have visited Italy, Spain and Greece and even seen videos on YouTube that much of Olive Oil in USA (about 70%) is adulterated and not pure extra virgin olive oil and mixed with rancid olive oil or other seed oils.
There are big olive oil mafias all over Europe and North Africa that make a lot of money by rebranding and marketing and selling cheap low quality olive oil as high quality for a lot of money.
Taste (Bitterness, Fruity, Grassy, Herby, Buttery, etc.) varies by country and region and extraction and bottling process and how fresh or how soon you consume (typically within 12 months of harvest)
People who watch this guy, remember this, he seems to be backing up, all his claims, which if true, he’s the coolest guy you’ll ever have in your lifetime. He has the heart of a teacher.
Thanks, Dr. Ekberg, for your contributions to your fellow man.
Thank you for an interesting video Dr Ekberg! You were the one that got me started on my health journey about two years ago this month. I started eating less carbs, stopped consuming alcohol regularly, began to eat salads and good proteins, and began regular intermittent fasting which I do now on a regular basis. The result is a loss of 95 pounds from my highest weight and my first normal blood work in 15 years! I appreciate what you do very much!
That is the problem, most commercial “olive” oils are not from olive but mixed with other oils. Unless, people are pretty sure they are getting real olive oil, no sense to buy the other ones.
Ekberg is probably the most eloquent guy in the health/nutrition space. No wasted words, no meaningless filler.

We appreciate this succinctness.
The speaker in the video ate 100 tablespoons of olive oil in 10 days and analyzed the effects on their blood. It was found that consuming this amount of olive oil did not significantly impact their blood glucose control or insulin resistance. They also discussed the importance of finding foods that can absorb the oil and advised against overeating. The blood work results showed a slight decrease in sodium levels and an increase in inflammation markers. However, there were no major negative impacts on cholesterol levels. The speaker highlighted the margin of error in blood work and the need to look at trends rather than individual values. Also emphasized that monounsaturated and saturated fats from high-quality sources are equally healthy. Overall, the video suggests that individual responses may vary, and monitoring relevant markers is crucial for assessing the risk of heart disease.
Why do you use the pronoun ‘they’ for Dr Ekberg? Does he have multiple personalities?
@@albrecht1635 I meant the researchers. Sorry
@@albrecht1635 fixed, thanks
Thanks, You are a Time Saver Hero. 👍
I’d love to see you do the experiment adding Red Wine Vinager, as the Mediterranean diet seems to combine both in their diet. I’ve been on the Carnivore diet, and adding the EVOO is probably why my weight loss is stalled. I may start eating more chicken and fish and replace the red meat with some veggies. Love your videos.
I’ve been making my own salad dressings for a few years. Olive oil is prominent in most all of them. I recently started making a classic Caesar dressing with raw egg, EVOO, Parmesan and anchovies among a few other ingredients. Delicious! You’ve made a huge impact on my life and health and I’m so thankful to you for sharing your knowledge with us.
My absolute favorite salad dressing is really quite simple- 1 tablespoon of olive oil with 1 tablespoon of ACV seasoning. Delish.

You are brilliant! I got blood work yesterday after doing 3 months of Keto and 1 month of mixed Keto+Low-Carb. I had weird liver values, high cholesterin/triglycerides/LDL and HbA1c of 6.9 and everything is normal now. HbA1c is 5.3 🤯 My doctor told me she never saw such an overall improvement before 🥰 And after watching dozens of your videos the main conclusion is: Cut the carbs and get healthy! Ah and I lost 15kg by eating a lot of fatty and satisfying meals lol

I just had to share with you, at the doctor today she kept saying perfect on all my blood work. One year ago this month I found you 💖 all except my” bad” cholesterol was 276 and I just watched your video on how doctor’s get that wrong.😊 last year I was borderline type 2 diabetic. Thank you ever so much 💞
Well, I also did an experiment on my mom’s friend who is 86 and she’s been living with high blood pressure for many years. After 6 months of taking only 1tbl spoon of good quality olive oil (on an empty stomach, in the morning) her blood pressure normalized at 120/80 and she stopped taking medicine. I did this on myself before but I didn’t have any health problems so I could not tell exactly what happened except that I noticed that I feel better and have less fat on my body. So, in my case 1tbl spoon of good quality of olive oil does magic.
