Well done doc. I went from a 34 waist to a 30 and no more sweating or breathing heavily when exercising. So much energy at 59 years old. My sugar switch (addiction / hunger) is “OFF”

    • Iridescence93 on January 8, 2019 at 11:11 am

@Rumple Stiltskin Maybe he just wanted to feel better. Weight loss isn’t even the main benefit of keto, just a bonus,

    • Rumple Stiltskin on January 8, 2019 at 1:16 pm

@Paul Naude A troll, A TROLL ? Touche’ Yup, I am. But I am also working on getting my weight down to 180 from my current 210, and I’ve already lost 30 bls. some of the latest investigations into diet have proven the being skinny is not healthy, depending on your age. Vegans are proof of this. Eating just fruits, vegetables and nuts is also not healthy. You may feel fine, but how is your Immune system Paul, because now is when you’ll need it in top notch shape as you enter your older years. Doctors and scientist have found that having a little fat on your body as you age is not as bad as they used to think, and may actually be healthy.

This is, by far, the best, most simple, most easy-to-understand explanation of the Keto diet that I’ve seen. Thank you so much for helping THIS Keto newcomer out!

Literally the clearest Keto video on YouTube. Thank you!!!!

    • Francis Chavez on May 25, 2019 at 4:59 am

Man i have been watching other gurus on keto and they just confuse me everyday. This is the best and all direct to the point!

  6. T Dub on October 30, 2018 at 7:53 pm

I’ve been interested in trying Keto but many if the videos were broad. You really broke it down to where anyone could understand. I just started the intermittent dating on Monday 10/29 and will be adding Keto in real soon because of this video. Thank you so much.

  7. Evelyn Castro-Lake on November 6, 2018 at 1:12 pm

Great video. Straightforward and concise. My problem is the sugar addiction. Very tough to break that cycle of eating it especially since there’s so much of it hidden in foods or labeled in ways that folks wouldn’t know that it’s sugar, like sucrose and fructose.

  8. Aga Es on November 6, 2018 at 2:18 pm

I came across this video and subscribed after watching it as it was really informative, not too overwhelming and easy to understand explanation of keto diet! Really liked it!
I always suffered with bloated stomach after every meal literally and often stomach pain. I have been doing keto diet for 10 days now and already feel the difference – no pain and not as bloated as before although I do crave sweets and bread…hope the cravings will stop once I’m adapted πŸ™‚

  10. Angie's Recipes on November 13, 2018 at 9:42 am

I love all the veggies that you listed! My problem is that I eat lots of veggies, like about 1kg daily. I don’t miss fruits, haven’t had a single piece of fruit since I started keto 3 months ago. But if I didn’t eat enough veggies one day, I would crave so badly…so I want to know if it’s okay to eat that much of veggies ( mostly brussels sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower plus salads made with celery, kale, radicchio, bok choy, radish, etc.)?

  11. Cristina Inamine on November 21, 2018 at 3:52 am

Dr Nick Zyrowski, thank you so much for your great explanations. I’m 65 years old and started the Ketonic Diet on November the1st because I had gained 27 lbs lately. I lost 11 lbs within a week, but then nothing happened….lol. Although I stopped taking 2 Janumet 500+50MG CO and 10 units of Lantus insulin daily, my tests are ranging from 90 to 126 mg/dl. My endocrinologist told me yesterday that my blood test for glycemic levels was at 110 mg/dl as usual, but there were a bit of protein traces in my urine, adding that I shouldn’t be concerned about it. I’ve been taking Emolax for a while due to constipation. My concern is that I had a cholecystectomy 24 years ago and some doctors say that it could be a problem while following a keto diet. Last week I got some headaches and cold symptoms, but are almost desisting. I would like to know if I can consume pork, besides in my area of Quebec its hard to find pasture-raised or organic foods, if I do its extremely expensive. God Bless you and your family. Shalom.

Hi Dr Zyrowski, thank you for this great video. I’ve been dealing with Candida bacteria for a while. Got yeast infection many times and also thrush once. This diet might be a good choice for me since i can cut on sugar and carbs a lot. Do you think i could get help starting this diet with a coach at a gym. I don’t think i could do it by myself. Hope your response soon. Thank you!

Thank you for the great video!!
I have wanted to start a better eating life style for a while now, but I don’t think I was completely ready until now. This week I found out that I have type 2 diabetes, my weight is currently 256 lbs and I have been referred to a diabetes clinic for consultation. Although I have been referred to this clinic it usually takes a few months to get started and get an appointment date to be seen. I want to get started asap and my question is: with diabetes is this diet safe to do, and is there any other videos you have or you can suggest to watch to help me get started with this diet? Also, forgot to mention that My doctor said at this point I don’t need medicine at this time, but I don’t know if that will change when I’m seen at the diabetes clinic. My Doctor said that if I am able to lose this weight I will have a good chance of not having diabetes any more?
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!!!
If any one else has any suggestions or tips as well that would be great πŸ™‚

I was overweight with GOUT, migraines and right side pain (gal bladder stones?) The ketogenic diet healed me. Down 70 pounds and all that inflammation and pain gone within 6 months. I’ve known people to do KETO wrong and eat too much fat. They were eating bacon and sausage every day and got stuck after a few weeks of weight loss.. You can get plenty of good fats from other sources like raw nuts, eggs, coconut and MCT oils, butter, lard, avacados and beef with a little fat on it. So educate yourself with these channels because you only got one life. Take responsibility for your own health and spread this channel and other real doctors that actually heal and cure people with the KETO or natural way of eating, the way we’re intended to eat.

This video was great! So easy to understand. I’ve seen 100 vids today that left me confused and hopeless 😫 thank you so much!!

My husband has lung disease (hypersensitivity pneumonitis to be specific), his oxygen level when he is resting before keto was 92, we’ve been on keto for 3 weeks, he lost 15lbs (he started at 230) and his oxygen has risen to 93/94. He has GERD and has not taken his meds since starting and his sleep apnea is greatly improved, almost gone. I wish we had started keto sooner!!

Have you tried giving to Christian healing ministries or Christian outreach ministries? Some I give to for healing are Benny Hinn’s Christian Ministry, Joseph Prince Christian Ministry, CBN’s 700 Club and Voice Of The Martyrs. Benny Hinn , Joseph Prince, and CBN’s 700 Club have a prayer request area on their websites you can enter your prayer requests. I give monthly gifts , I give 10% of my income. Also, I believe reading the Bible out loud for a few minutes healed me because my terrible neck pain vanished after I did. So I read the Bible out loud every day now. Maybe doing this will heal lung problems also I don’t know but it’s worth trying also. God bless and I hope you do try these. πŸ˜‰πŸ™

Very thorough introduction. Also your 10% of carb recommendation gives me such a relief that I can never stick to 5% while I want to have 1 cup blueberries every day. And the Bonus tip of App recommendation is so great! Thank you so much!

I want to personally thank you for attempting to provide a 101 guide on the Ketogenic diet. Now my comprehension is much better. I watched your video 4 times and took notes to follow to ensure I understand the process.
Thank you for the time in helping us that have a myriad of illnesses.

Best explanation of Keto that I’ve come across yet! I was having a hard time understanding macros, why high fat nutrients is important and which foods I can have/avoid. You’ve gained a subscriber β™₯️ thank you!

  20. Roby Roby on July 20, 2019 at 11:23 am

Thank you so much Dr. Nick for suggesting me to watch this video! I’m getting familiar with the Carb Manager App and I find it useful, most of all to be aware of what I’m getting so that I can “correct” a bit my diet.
I don’t need to loose weight, I just want to keep in shape and live until 120 years old. Yes, seriously, if someone does, why not me? This is the reason why I care about what I’m eating. I don’t simply want to be fit from outside but most of all in the inside.
Thank you so much for explaining so clearly everything. It really helps.
