Let’s talk about the best ways to detox your lungs naturally. Air pollution, cigarette smoke, and cleaning chemicals are just a few of the things that can affect the lungs. But, certain natural remedies may help detox the lungs and potentially help decrease the risk of conditions like COPD and cancer.

Cancer tends to spread into areas of inflammation. If the lungs have inflammation, they become a target for cancer. Inflammation can also lead to fibrosis. So, we want to focus on natural ways to reduce lung inflammation.

When chemicals go into the lungs, they don’t stop in the lungs. Chronic exposure to toxins in the air can also lead to problems with the liver and heart.

The best remedies to detox the lungs:
1. Milk thistle
2. Tocotrienols
3. Vitamin D
4. Pneumotrophin PMG® (Standard Process)

Thankfully I’m not a smoker, yet it’s essential to have our daily dasage of knowledge from Dr Berg 😊 throughout his videos 🌸

What you and other’s don’t realize, is that when I grew up, smoking was considered normal and healthy. Doctor’s smoked, they even did smoking ads. My doctor smoked in his office, people smoked in hospitals, airports, etc. My parents and their friends smoked, too.

    • Sabrina and husband on May 6, 2023 at 12:16 pm

@Donna Baardsen it was everywhere ( not in my household though: no drinking or smoking were around) but that doesn’t make it healthy the fact that it was common to smoke in 90s and early 2000s everywhere

    • N Sudatta-Roy on May 6, 2023 at 2:23 pm

Yeah well, you have a million other lung antagonists to also be concerned about. There’s still that pesky radiation from Fukushima to worry about.

    • Sabrina and husband on May 6, 2023 at 3:31 pm

@N Sudatta-Roy we live quite far from Fukushima, in Europe 😅 we have different Fukushima of gang neighborhoods here 😅 and they are more deadly than smoking & cancer combined!

How about vaping doc? Former 1-2 pack daily smoker for 25 years but for the past 8-9 years he switched to vaping 24/7 using regular e juice and not the nic salts, and feels and breathes much better. He even had copd that went away. I hear it’s 90% safer than burning traditional cigarettes?

    • perijon00 on May 6, 2023 at 12:16 pm

@JRDNGIXX I heard it’s worse or as bad. Still consuming many many chemicals. I’d rather smoke a cigarette than a vape

    • Legendary Lithium Orotate on May 6, 2023 at 1:01 pm

@perijon00in my experience, I have less side effects and health issues arise from cigarettes than from that damn vape. They’re so nasty. Delta 8, 9, and 10 vapes sometimes do this but the higher quality ones don’t so if you do those, put the penny down for a better one that gives no side effects.

    • Richard on May 6, 2023 at 3:19 pm

@JRDNGIXXI’m not sure about other issues with vaping but the nicotine levels you end up inhaling are much much stronger. Even without nic salts typically they are at least 18mg and you usually inhale much bigger puffs.. all I know is I could smoke 30cigs in a day and still feel better than if I vaped the same amount of puffs on a 12mg vape. It makes me more dehydrated, my back worse and just overall can feel worse in the morning..l that being said If I get a strong one and just have two puffs each time instead of 10-12 puffs like a normal cig then it’s better. I think nicotine is just a very damaging toxin. It’s also has no benefit to you whatsoever other than reliving the withdrawal symptoms created by the cigarette. Any other benefits are just perceived benefits. It makes concentrating harder, it makes relaxing harder, it makes exercise harder, being active harder, the list goes on. It’s just pure addiction from both substance and mental. A hard one to quit but I’m going to try hard again tomorrow 😢. I’ll use vapes a little bit to help but ultimate goal is to get off then for good so I can start really truly enjoying life as I did when I was young and didn’t smoke and never got sick or pains.

Loving it! I have seen Milk Thistle affect on fatty liver and sometimes for chronic liver cirrhosis. It works like magic.

  10. lostasadorespr on May 6, 2023 at 12:30 pm

God bless this man. Dr. Berg is a national treasure. He should be appointed to rewrite the doctor’s code of ethics and modern medicine curriculums at med schools. But we know the elites won’t allow that.

  11. Mark B on May 6, 2023 at 12:58 pm

I wish I’d never smoked or drank alcohol. I smoked from 16 to 31 and quit around 10 years ago. I still feel tired easily when I exercise and I still drank very heavily for another 8 or so years. Don’t abuse your body people, you feel old and tired before your time if you do, and often cut your life extremely short. Life is better living clean.

  12. BC C on May 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm

I know three people in one town who got lung cancer. Two died, one is fighting. They ALL smoked, but since everyone who smokes does not necessarily get lung cancer, I have to conclude that the factory in this town could have contributed. The one fighting now is my father. 🙏 So many at risk without even knowing.

I grew up in a New England mill town. I’m 36 now. Seems like everyone in the area has Cancer of some form. It really sucks.

  14. TopSecret on May 6, 2023 at 2:39 pm

Been using Milk Thistle on and off to help my liver for what seems to be ages, nice to know it also helps the lungs, i was a smoker for many years before i quit just several years ago.

  15. Richard on May 6, 2023 at 2:50 pm

Thanks Dr. burg! I’m going to give this a go. I’ve been smoking for 20 years and in the last 10 I smoked heavy. I can say that It completely destroys your quality of life. With energy and back most of all. My back got to a point I couldn’t even sleep or leave the house without strong nerve pain meds. And every person I’ve met with really bad chronic back pain is a smoker. You end up realizing your ruining your life for something that doesn’t even really give you anything other than relief from withdrawal symptoms caused by smoke in the first place.

Anyone got any recommendations for vitamin E Annatto Tocotrienols? Dosages, brands etc?

    • Chris Hynes on May 6, 2023 at 4:26 pm

Amazon has a brand or 2 of Tocotrienols. They’re a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for.

  16. Sharon Coble on May 6, 2023 at 3:02 pm

I had one husband die of lung cancer and one from COPD. Also, 11 family members and close friends who died from lung cancer. This is a real situation!😳

I just started growing microgreens last month and just looked up Milk Thistle. Apparently it’s high in Silymarin and is a nutrient dense food as well. They are meant to be very easy to grow 🙂 I have a few things on the go now, what’s one more lol

  19. Exiled in the US on May 6, 2023 at 6:33 pm

Dr Berg you have been an insightful and versatile research tool for medical and dietary information and I appreciate the effort. I enjoy your show. I hope that the industry doesn’t pervert your message. Thank you, Dr Berg.

I quit smoking 3 years June 20th, what I have found out is that before I could only hold my breath for under 17 seconds, I now can hold my breath for 30 good seconds. I feel great!
