HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!

Can vitamin D help with autoimmune disease? Dr. Cicero Coimbra is a neurologist who developed the Coimbra protocol, which involves using high doses of vitamin D3 to put autoimmune diseases into remission. Watch this fascinating interview with Dr. Coimbra as we discuss the amazing benefits of vitamin D.

5:25 Vitamin D dosage

9:58 How to find doctors trained by Dr. Coimbra

DATA:

Dr. Coimbra first discovered the benefits of vitamin D when he noticed significant improvement in a patient with Parkinson’s disease and vitiligo after giving them 10,000 IU of vitamin D per day.

As Dr. Coimbra learned more about vitamin D, he began to increase his patients’ dosage while closely monitoring them for symptoms of toxicity. He found that he could prevent an increase of calcium in the urine caused by higher doses of vitamin D by asking his patients to decrease their dairy intake. Magnesium can also be taken with high doses of vitamin D to help control calcium levels and aid absorption.

People with autoimmune disorders often have polymorphisms affecting any of the nine genes that vitamin D requires for proper function. Vitamin D deficiency is also related to modern lifestyles that limit sun exposure.

In 1988, it was discovered that we have vitamin D receptors in almost every cell of the body. This triggered an increase in vitamin D research and the understanding that vitamin D was important for far more than just bone and calcium. If you have a problem with vitamin D metabolism, you could be prone to many diseases.

Dr. Coimbra explains that some health concerns must be addressed with doses of up to 600,000 IU of vitamin D. This dosage may also be helpful before surgery.

When treating people with autoimmune diseases, Dr. Coimbra gives his patients 1,000 IU of vitamin D per kilogram of body weight.

I so appreciate your information about Vitamin D. It’s so important that this information gets out. In 2010 I was having symptoms of M.S. I went to a Neurologist who found lesions on my brain, but stopped short of diagnosing me with full-blown M.S. because I didn’t meet all of the criteria. He told me to come back when I had my ‘second episode’. While I was there, I had a conversation with the nurse who told me it was not uncommon for their patients to take upwards of 40,000 I.U.’s of Vitamin D3…so from that point, I started taking 40,000 I.U.’s of Vitamin D3. I also got serious about the Keto diet around that time. Since then, I’ve never had those same debilitating symptoms that led me to the Neurologist in the first place, and I also cured a life-long issue with depression.

Dr. Berg, I have been seeing your videos on YouTube for years and thought you were just another MD on YouTube trying to make a buck. I have suffered with “idiopathic peripheral neuropathy” for years. My A1C has always been below 5.4. I can’t tell you how many nights I have not been able to sleep because of the neuropathy. My doctors just keep throwing gabapentin in my face. I was desperate, I would have taken decon if someone told me it would help. I found your videos about benforamine. I got a bottle, and within 2 days of taking it I have stopped the gabapentin. I can’t thank you enough. I am finally able to get some rest without the 8000 volts of electricity shocking my feet and hands, or the bugs crawling up my legs. Thank you SO SO very much. I put this on a newer video so you would see it. Again, I can’t thank you enough, and please don’t ever stop what you do, you are making a difference in people’s lives.

      Did you mean benfotiamine?

  14. @siskodefiant4275 on March 28, 2025 at 1:18 pm

My vitamin D level was 8. I was prescribed a weekly 50,000 IU dose for I believe 8 weeks. Got me up in the 30s. They didn’t continue me on Vitamin D and, of course, it went back down. During that time, the most prominent issue I had was extreme pain when waking up. I honestly just thought that was normal to have that kind of pain in my 40’s. In December I just took it upon myself to get a D3/K2 vitamin as well as a multivitamin. Now, I don’t have any pain when trying to get out of bed.

    • @Drberg on March 28, 2025 at 2:43 pm

    • @di4085 on March 28, 2025 at 6:15 pm

It depends on what vitamin D was prescribed to you. Doctors Cannon will prescribe vitamin D2 and what we need is D3. That could be why your levels didn’t go up as high as they should. Has Dr Berg stated you can start out at $10,000 IU’s but being that you’re really super low I would go higher.

    • @thisorthat7626 on March 28, 2025 at 4:34 pm

100% this can help many, many people. The link between Alzheimer’s and aluminum now becomes clearer, IMO. Lack of vitamin D allows the aluminum to build up in the body/brain. Silica is not a common supplement but is dirt cheap and is required by our body.
