Let’s talk about dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. A lot of Alzheimer’s disease research is focused on getting rid of amyloid plaquing. But we may have been looking at this the wrong way.

New research suggests that this plaquing is actually a very important antimicrobial peptide.

The immune system has two parts:
1. The innate immune system that you’re born with.
2. The acquired immune system that you develop over time.

But, the brain only has the innate immune system, and they found that the plaquing is an innate immune system reaction to a microbe. This reaction leads to neuroinflammation and collateral damage. This infection is typically subclinical and develops over time.

Key pathogens associated with Alzheimer’s disease:
• Herpes simplex
• Spirochetes
• Chlamydophila pneumonia

Some people may also have a gene susceptibility to Alzheimer’s disease. If someone has this gene, they may also be more susceptible to allowing the herpes virus to cross the blood-brain barrier.

Potential factors involved in Alzheimer’s disease prevention:
1. Supporting the immune system
2. Supporting the gut microbiome
3. Supporting healthy blood sugar levels
4. Consuming a keto diet
5. Avoiding alcohol and smoking
6. Exercising
7. Consuming foods with antioxidants
8. Keeping stress low
9. Getting plenty of sleep
10. Avoiding harmful chemicals
11. Fasting (OMAD)

Thanks for the info Dr Berg. I still think, besides what you’ve already recommended, activities like: learning new skills or practicing a hobby may delay it, as well as consuming turmeric on daily bases, which will come handy as well for most common health probs.

The microbiome in the gut and the brain are connected. Education needs to be a priority in society about gut health and alzeimers and dementia.

Lost my mom to it, May 2022. It is an awful disease. Do everything you can to prevent doing this to yourself and your family. It’s the hardest thing I have ever been through. It’s why I started keto and fasting (that and my A1C creeping up). It’s how I discovered Dr. berg.

One fact that many don’t know if the Delta Variant of C19 is causing alot of Dementia and A/D in people who got it age 65 and over. My Mom got Delta when I did October 2021 and immediately following the infection her memory and cognition began to deteriorate. Our Long Covid Doctors are Professors Of Neurosciences and Microbiology. They are actually using on us, Monolaurin, Tocotrienols, and NattoZyme along with 15,000iu D3 and 180mcg K2 They also are using NAC and Glycine together with us daily called GlyNac, those two are very anti inflammatory and anti coagulant. They told us the Spike Protein in Moms Brain and mine entered our Brain through the Olfactory receptor of the Nose then through Viral Persistence the Spike Protein continues to cause damage to Neurons. Two last things they are adding from the 3 year reasearch, Nicuteen 2mg chewed 1-2 times daily for 5 days, then 5 days off, as well as low dose Methylene Blue USP Grade ONLY. I bought capsules to put the Methylene drops in for her by Doctor instructions. I just put 1-2 drops in an empty capsule then takenit with water to avoid the taste. This stuff is helping alot. Alot of Doctors are now realizing that the drugs they prescribe are worse often and or ineffective compared to non conventional.

Dr. Berg, I know I’m in the minority here, but could you please make a video on transverse myelitis and ways to overcome it? I think it might be the single disease you haven’t touched upon unless I missed something. Thank you very much.

    • Healthy Disrespect for Authority on January 21, 2023 at 2:13 pm

      and ostiomyelitis too..

    • alexpakha on January 21, 2023 at 3:48 pm

I’ve read some reports that some people who got the vaccine after a few months developed transverse myelitis but obviously they won’t link the two and two together 100%. I think watching any of his immune system videos and how to improve yours could really helpful in general.

Rain falls on me just like in “The Truman Show” just right in my lap and nowhere else. Got me a bed in hospital as I went a little hypothermia then as fortunate would have it one patient gets the new covid strain so the whole hospital in lockdown including me for 5 weeks for free. Nice shower, clothing, food and medical care… Thank you God.

    • Ro Ro on January 21, 2023 at 2:20 pm

What scientific evidence do you have of an angel realm?

    • Doug M on January 21, 2023 at 2:45 pm

@Ro Ro PLENTY of evidence if you open your eyes. Try doing a search on the net researching some history on the matter and praying to Jesus and your eyes will widen. Good luck.

The rate of progression for Alzheimer’s disease varies widely. On average, people with Alzheimer’s disease live between three and 11 years after diagnosis, but some survive 20 years or more. The degree of impairment at diagnosis can affect life expectancy.

Dr Berg, I am a new subscriber from England. I wanted to say that you are not only fascinating, but I find your presentations very easy to follow. I have put myself on vitamin D3 with K2, M7 at more than the dose recommended here, which is very low. I have also started Magnesium Glycerate, plus your guide on Cod liver oil. I can honestly say, after years of being put on high dose pain medication, which is dished out by my doctor, then increased as it is tolerated and the body requiring more, I am now finally feeling much better using some of your recommendations which I have watched here. I have even begun to lower these awful pain meds they give out like sweets.
I would be interested in any suggestions to ease the effects that certain higher pain medication has on the colon, senna, doesn’t work and the issue is more sluggish, even though I drink a lot of water. I began a low carb diet 3 weeks ago, so I am restricted to 20 carbs a day and cannot have as many vegetable variations as I would like. The great news for me is I am feeling so much better and I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for providing these inspirational videos, that I would never have had the access too, or been lucky enough to be a patient. Thank you kindly for giving me the tools, to start to feel alive once more it’s a feeling I think so many of us need to feel again.

@Malik Aubrey “Never listen to your doctor” is TERRIBLE advice. You don’t even KNOW their doctor. That’s black and white thinking. That’s toxic.

      NUANCE!

    • Enlightened Patriot on January 21, 2023 at 6:24 pm

@Lillian The same Doctor (Nurse) Campbell who pushed those highly damaging serums over the past couple of years, before back-peddling now all the bad news is coming out about them? Like very many people in Africa (I believe) who also rejected such medical advice, if only for cost reasons, I bought some Ivermectin from the USA for my family here in the UK, and used that instead after catching the virus in hospital A&E. My immune system should now be better for that.

    • Mark Freeman on January 21, 2023 at 7:03 pm

conditional essential nutrition will do that for you.

    • Mark Freeman on January 21, 2023 at 7:04 pm

pain medication is a poor substitute for conditionally essential nutrition….

Dr. Berg love your stuff! I look forward to my days with coffee in the mornings whilst watching your content. Best doctor I’ve had thus far from having an autoimmune disease and heart problems as a 21 year old, your stuff has been greatly helpful.

Question/video idea: how to bullet proof your BBB? That would be a cool video!

Also: how to increase GFR function in the kidneys? My mother has stage 1 kidney disease. Would be great to see!

    I’m recovering from Alzheimer’s.
My brain started to fail with a fluoroquinolone (broad spectrum antibiotic).
Dr. Berg you missed a HUGE trigger… hidden water damage in buildings resulting in MOLD.

    • Hello2 on January 21, 2023 at 2:07 pm

Thank God you are recovering that is a big hope for the rest of us!! and Thank you so much to mention dump walls and mould are my concern too!!

    • N0 WDBs on January 21, 2023 at 4:04 pm

@user-tj2ut7wy4m  mold is a huge problem in the US. Even in desert areas, houses and apartment complexes are built in the rain and they might dry a little, even 5% humidity is trapped in the walls and flooring with tyvek.
About one more year of treatment and I want to join with a construction firm to start changing this atrocity!

    • Serina ASMR on January 21, 2023 at 5:12 pm

I was also poisoned by environmental mold in a unkept apartment building . When I went to sue for unfit living conditions we all including the judge , found out the owners were from and living in China . The USA has a huge problem with not holding owners and landlords responsible for unfit water damaged / mold living conditions. Water damage can not be cleaned it has to be removed and the remaining area has to be sealed off an ozoned. Mold exposure snd moyotoxins exposure leads also to cancer . This is a major concern for the USA allowing out of country investors to buy up our land and large buildings and not following standards . The laws need to change and education needs to be taught about this subject

    • Wide Awake2 on January 21, 2023 at 7:06 pm

There actually studies now linking mold to Alzheimer’s, ALS, MS, autism, Parkinson’s, cancer, etc etc. it’s the ROOT of most diseases.

  16. Babbs In SC on January 21, 2023 at 1:44 pm

Your research is helping many understand we are not always being told the truth and the medication treating these illnesses are expensive and rather useless. My father had Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease as he aged and I felt it was connected to autoimmune. He took supplements of all kinds when he was younger. We ate veggies grown with some questionable pesticides, not realizing, and he had a lot of stomach issues. When he was younger he ate low carb “Atkins” type diet. I did also when younger, always felt better following that diet.
It’s sad to see an aging parent go down that road.
We need to save ourselves from this disease. I’m in my 60’s and am GF since in my 40’s . That helped me so much, but it’s a difficult road . I love all your great ideas and your research !! Thank you for helping others to expand their thinking. The junk food of today could kill us all !
    😉
