Today, I’m going to tell you how you can easily get rid of puffy eyes. Puffy eyes are also referred to as eye bags or periorbital edema. Puffy eyes are often treated medically with steroids, antihistamines, and other medications.
Cucumbers and undereye patches can provide temporary relief but do not solve the problem.
High levels of sodium can cause puffy eyes, and the kidneys are often involved, but the root cause of puffy eyes is too much sugar in the bloodstream.
When you have too much sugar in your bloodstream, you also have too much insulin in your bloodstream. This can eventually lead to insulin resistance and cause your body to retain sodium.
After long periods of excessive sugar consumption, your kidneys can become overloaded. This often shows up in the eyelids before other parts of the body.
Excessive sugar consumption causes fluid retention and sodium retention along with the following:
•Decreased potassium
•Activation of the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight)
•Increased renin
If you want to get rid of puffy eyes, you need to remove the sugar from your diet. You should also increase your potassium intake.

Thank you Dr. Berg👑🏆
yep. Keto got rid of my puffy eyes and insanely dry eyes
I love you all❤
Everything you say makes sense. One cause of puffy eyes, that no one talks about is blepharitis. Demodex mites that overpopulate your eyes cause major inflammation in the eye and around it. As we age, this can be a real issue that doctors ignore. Love for you to discuss this on your video some day and offer solutions. Thanks Dr Berg.
What can we do about the mites?
Exactly. Spray your bed everyday Lysol type spray. Also once per month spray the mattresses with a household bug spray. No mites.

If you research demodex on the NIMH, it will tell you how to treat them. Like lice, they can morph from one type to the other…hair to body and vice versa, hair follicles to pores and vice versa. A person infested with demodex can develop lupus, skin cancers, and many other skin ailments, of which exzema seems to be the beginning phase. I’m speaking from decades of experience here and elimination of the overburden. We will always carry a demodex population. The trick is in the balance. It’s important to note that individuals with weakened immune systems will carry a higher burden and have more difficulty fighting them off naturally. Also, people with larger nasal openings will have a higher burden. All this information is from the NIMH.
How does Dr. Berg know I woke up with puffy eyes this morning??
I love you all❤
This channel is so helpful
Happy New Year Dr. Berg. Thanks so much for these.
I’m wondering about floaters in the eye. Would you have some advice on how to deal with those?
Much appreciated.
Oh yeah. Dr Berg has a video on that too. Look for it. It’s on YouTube.
Yes it was posted in the last few weeks 👍
Also related to high sugar levels binding with proteins in the eyes. It will take approximately 4 to 6 months to clear up once you stop sugar and carbs
Oh wow I was just wondering the same thing. I have them lately in my right eye
Indeed he has released one about them. It about glycated proteins. Sugar, sugar, sugar!!!
I spent 10 days away from my mum and she ended up with puffy eyes and even had flashing lights in one of her eyes. When I asked her what she’d been eating, she listed lots of takeaways, junk and carbs! In 2 days of eating low carb, the puffiness has gone down and the flashing lights have gone away completely. This is all thanks to Dr Bergs videos and advice!
Dr. Berg is truly amazing. I thank God for him on the regular!
I definitely agree
I love you all❤
The best explanation of the best doctor ❤️

What I like about your answers is you’re consistent. You’re not all over the place where they say it could be this. It could be that it could be so many things causing the problem. Meanwhile when they’re all over the place what they’re demonstrating is they really don’t know what’s causing it. Do they realize that they’re not taking any accountability. All the shown is the degree that they went to school for to earn doesn’t prove that they’re qualified at anything except speculation. And they prescribe all these drugs that make your condition worse. Just another way to prove their incompetent. And it also proves even more so they don’t want to be held accountable. They just want to earn big bucks.
I love you all❤
Please mention this could be caused by heredity and no amount of carb, sugar, salt reduction will help. I had bags starting in my teen years. I was diagnosed as pre diabetic and put on blood pressure meds 2 years ago. After 2 years of strict reduction of sodium, carbs, and sugars, I still have them
You say you have reduced your intake of sugar, etc but you may need to remove it entirely for it to have the desired effect. Genes play a very small part, if any, in the outcome of health. Families who suffer the same issues likely live the same lifestyles. It’s your lifestyle and diet that influence your health the most.
I feel like mine are hereditary also. Even when I’m very consistently eating low carb and fasting they are still there. My parents have them too
@@mgouley Eye bags can be a result of fat tissue which pokes forward which is mostly genetic, and therefore the ONLY option is to have surgery to cut it. I know, because I had it done after trying everything. It’s disingenuous for some to claim that you can make lifestyle changes to cure that. It like saying you can make your nose smaller by making dietary changes. But I think this video is referring to puffy eyes, as in fluid retention, which is mostly from too much sodium. I think he goes overboard pushing the low sugar agenda. In most people it’s likely due to high sodium, as it’s in so much of our food, and not everyone drinks enough water.
I’ve had bags under the eyes since I was a teenager and never knew how to fix the issue. I don’t often eat desserts, but for New Year’s Eve, I bought ice cream and chocolate sauce. I indulged for two days, and I had no idea why I got up those two mornings (after enjoying the dessert) and noticed I looked like I’d been through a war, lol. Bigger bags under the eyes than usual! I sat down today and while eating lunch (a salad), I watched your vid. I truly believe your vid explained it all! Thank you!
You’re all valid ❤
Call a kid “overweight” nowadays and get shunned for being real. It’s very sad. Thank you, Dr. Berg! 💯
You’re all valid ❤
Hello Doctor, may I have a question: Is it permissible to take vitamin D3 after drinking tea? Does tea prevent the absorption of D3 like iron? Thank you.
Once I learned this from Dr. Berg, I use it as a measuring rod against my diet. I might be losing weight, but if my eyes are puffy I can almost always find some ingredient hidden away in something or that I was a bit too high on carbs the day before.
I wanna discuss with you ❤
Have the luckiest and the most wonderful New Year Dr. Berg. Thanks a lot🙏
Dr Berg you prove everyday that all so-called MDs should be required to take celluar biomechanics advanced courses, before they ever enter an anatomy classroom.
Not to mention nutrition.
Most mds are only trained to be salesmen for Pharma.
