We’re going to look at some of the causes of trigeminal neuralgia and potential remedies.

There are two types of trigeminal neuralgia. Type 1 trigeminal neuralgia is characterized by unilateral, sudden, brief, shooting, or stabbing pain. It can reoccur every two seconds to two minutes from twice a day to 200 times per day. Type 2 trigeminal neuralgia is described as achy and chronic rather than intense.

Research has found associations between polyunsaturated fatty acids and several chronic diseases, including trigeminal neuralgia. Omega-6 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids that are highly inflammatory and are a large part of the average diet.

Research involving cadavers showed that many people who had trigeminal neuralgia also had certain viruses known to infect the ganglion (nerve bundles). The following viruses have been associated with trigeminal neuralgia:
•Herpes virus (HHV6)
•Epstein-Barr virus

These viruses are considered latent viruses because they go in and out of remission. Extract from shiitake mushrooms, known as AHCC, high doses of vitamin D3 combined with zinc, berberine, and stress reduction can help put these viruses back into remission.

PEA (Palmitoylethanolamide) + Luteolin can support your nerve tissue directly and target inflammation. DMSO is another powerful and penetrative anti-inflammatory that has been used to decrease phantom pain, post-operative pain, post-traumatic pain, and trigeminal neuralgia.

There’s an amazing technique that can reduce trigeminal neuralgia pain very quickly. It’s not a permanent fix, but I've seen it work to relieve pain in about 70% of cases.

Try the following technique for instant trigeminal neuralgia pain relief:
1. Isolate where the pain is coming from
2. Locate the mirror image on the opposite side of the body
3. Massage the area on the opposite side of the body (you should notice tenderness)
4. Check the bad side to determine changes to your pain level
5. Continue until your pain is manageable

    Dear Dr. Eric,

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude for the informative YouTube video that you shared. We learned a lot from it, so thank you.

I have a question regarding my 9-year-old son’s health. One day, his entire body went numb for about five minutes, but after this short duration, he returned to normal. Occasionally, after playing soccer for an hour and returning home or while traveling in a car, he experiences this numbing sensation again. I have taken him to a neurology specialist, but they couldn’t identify any underlying issues.

I am reaching out to you in the hopes that you can provide some guidance or assistance in this matter. Thank you very much for your time and support. May God bless you.
    Abraham G

I went to the dentists for a filling and when giving anesthetic she somehow she hit the trigeminal nerve. Felt like my face and eye were on fire. Thankfully it was short lived. I have the utmost sympathy for anyone suffering from trigeminal neuralgia

    • @MC1RPOSITIVESusieQ on January 9, 2024 at 2:39 pm

Exactly how were you diagnosed? I’m pretty sure that happened to me but which avenue should I take? Should I see a neurologist and get nerves tested? I’ve had vertigo ever since. Not the spinning /dizziness so much as I’ve had a boat like feeling. Facial pain on either side Started on the right at times I have it on the left?

    • @kristenc4512 on January 9, 2024 at 3:06 pm

I had the same thing happen but it didn’t go away.

    • @catitude4 on January 9, 2024 at 4:37 pm

Many years ago I had a molar removed and still had pain after for quite some time right in the jaw. Of course the dentist had no clue as to why. I think it was this problem. They couldn’t help me, just gave me a pain med. Eventually it went away.

Woke up extra energetic this morning, weighing 164 pounds again! 💪 Had a magnesium-rich, carb-less dark chocolate coffee and prepared a mineral rich meal to break my fast later. Eggs for molybdenum, oysters for copper and zinc, red onion for chromium, and staying away from fruits and other sulfites for sure! Thanks, Dr. Berg! Have a wonderful day, everyone! 🙂

I was ‘struck by lightning’ of TN in 2007! My TN pain is nearly nonexistent since going as close as possible to a carnivore diet. I also make gelatin using your hydration powder. I did have an MVD surgery in 2008 and again in 2015. After years of debilitating pain, I am close to being pain free. This video is extremely informative and after years of self experimentation, it makes sense! One thing I found is that I was starving my brain of fat. This is obviously not the place to write an article from my personal experiences, but I need to tell you, BRAVO!!!! Thank you!!!

    • @AA-mb7vp on January 9, 2024 at 5:59 pm

What do you mean by saying you were starving your brain off fat ?

    • @TLain1111 on January 9, 2024 at 6:19 pm

@@AA-mb7vpI went vegetarian AND was taking Lipitor. I recently tested my theory about Lipitor after researching (Not recommended-I am not a doctor). After cutting out fats and taking Lipitor for 7 days, I started experiencing pain and brain fog. On the 8th day, I went back to my normal high protein diet and stopped the Lipitor. I felt the full positive benefits within a few days.

My husband suffered from this for years. Very debilitating night and day. After being on medications that quit working and many mis diagnosis later….opted for the cranial decompression surgery. Woke up pain free! That was in 2003, still pain free. Did not know about you Dr.Berg then…thank god you will be able to help anyone with this information to relieve the suffering! We did so much research…

Thank you for sharing this relevant information with us, Dr Berg. You’re absolutely right when researching, everything has to be questioned. Kindest regards from the UK.

Thank you! All of your advice has been working. Even the smaller nuggets of it. You were absolutely right about how some behaviors _rewire the brain._ They are the cause and not the symptom of other deleterious behaviors after all. And through therapy I’ve come to the understanding as to why and the kind of signals I’ve been putting out into the world, as a result. So, yeah! I appreciate all of your work. It’s easy to get healthy and to break habits when you attack the cause and not the symptoms.

Thank you, always! For all of your insights!

After trying various things like injection and physical therapy for frozen shoulder developed trigeminal pain and migraines. Started following your nutritional suggestions. Yay! Secondary started back with my strength trainer and he caught that my posture was out of alighment… curving shoulders forward and wearing “wearing my shoulders for earrings”. We worked on strengthen the posterior chain from head to lower back. Double Yay!!

After recent covid (1st time) and fatigue symptoms, it’s back. But now have tools including massage.

    Appreciate you!

What you say makes sense. We never had issues with inflammation as I recall nor obesity when I was growing up in the 70’s. Even my grandparents didn’t complain much about joint pain and at that time we were using only vegetable oils not seed oils.
