A 7 day water fast with exercise is a topic that we need to get clear on. Many people feel tough by going and doing a water fast and then hitting the gym as if its a badge of honor. The truth is that when doing a 7 day water fast the goal is to rest during this time and allow for the body to heal. The goal should not be to show people how tough you are and go lift weights in the gym when you havent eaten in days.

The 7 day water fast transformation is truly amazing. Many people will do short term fasts for weight loss but usually people who are doing 7 day water fasts are doing it for a greater purpose. That is to reverse a condition, solve a health problem, or they are using it for disease prevention. For people who have dementia or cancer that runs in their family it is important to utilize tools like fasting that increases autophagy in order to skyrocket their health.

There are some people who are interested in 7 day water fast fat loss. This is a worthy goal too because fasting will certainly help you burn that fat off. When fasting you are literally in a fat burning state for days. Your body is using the fat in order to fuel the body. Therefore throughout the fast you will have quite a bit of weight loss.

How to water fast for a week starts with the proper strategy. It is so important to make sure that when doing a water fast you consult with your doctor. It is also important to make sure you get proper rest, movement, and that you get proper water intake. It is also important to spend your time resting and not do the water fast during a stressful time in your life.

The best way to break water fast is to utilize steamed cruciferous vegetables. Not only are they nutrient dense but they also contain good amounts of fiber that will be healthy for the gut microbiome. At this time I also like to use probiotic rich foods in order to get good amounts of probiotics in the gut. It is helpful and 100% necessary in order to improve gut health. Eating foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, homemade kombucha. This is all good in order to improve immune and gut health.

      Really depends. I speak to woman who have no problem fasting for any duration they want and some woman are very sensitive to it. You have to listen to your body.

      I did 4 days could could not make due to I work with people physically. I’d have to do this on vacation lol. Do 4 days still bring benefits?

      You took the words right out of my mouth. Men and women can/should fast differently….especially during perimenopause. I wish more Doc’s talked about this and resisted overgeneralizing the benefits of fasting. Every BODY is different. I support fasting and do it, however, I feel the precautions for women really need to be addressed. Fasting can really impact female hormones, not always in a positive way.

      @@dr.nickzyrowski if you take bcaa’s during fast does it ruin it. I workout when I fast and wanted the recovery support along with Baja gold sea salt trace minerals. And what if you take omega supplement that has 3 calories but it’s just pure omegas no carbs does that end your fast technically? Thank you for you help.

    I completed a 14 day water fast with electrolytes ( sea salt , potassium ( NU Salt) through the strength of Jesus!!I 🙏) never felt better!! MentalClarity, sharp!, positive, energy, vitality! joint pain gone, BP lowered. Family says I look 10 years younger. I use to walk with limp slowly, went up stairs slowly holding rail, knee pain. Now walk quickly and can squat!! Glory to God
    Back to one meal a day ( 24 hr )with low carb under 10 net carbs. Now I do , once a week 50 hr fast ( eat one meal , 6 pm don’t eat dinner next day,, then eat at 6 pm next day

    I don’t think fasting heals hypothyroidism and have heard it makes it worse . 1 out of 5 women or 1 out of 8 women and 1 out of 10 men. Is this true? I want to know for sure, Doc.

      I have Hashimoto’s, and have researched and found out the same thing! I do IF 18-6 most days, with the occasional 24 hour fast. I also mix up the amount of carbs I eat. I’m staying away from longer fasts at the moment.

      Till he answers, if it’s not required for you, no. The fasting helps get rid of the inhibitors that you might be taking a supplements for. Give it a try and see.

    In 2017 I was eating a ketogenic diet and did a lot of IF and prolonged fasting. The longest water fast was 14 days. After that I was not mentally able to fast for longer than a day for years. I’m female, 60 now and just recently did a 3 day water fast. I would love to do a 7 day water fast. I take a lot of supplements, should I cut them out while prolonged fasting?

    What about fasting without my gallbladder. I have done a 16/8 for 4 years now and Had my gallbladder removed due to Billirüben Stones in 2020.
    I have also struggled with anemia. Now my Dr tells me I have Iron over load Ferritin at 500 and should be 160. My intestines have Had blockages but Dr dont See anything. CT, xrays, Ultrasound and Last an MRI with contrast Fluid.
    I have a larger enlongated lump in my Abdomen For 3 yrs now where the colon is located. Could I have Iron stored there causing blockage due to Iron over load affecting Mucose

    hmm. Longest I fasted ever was 24 hours, I cant go long without food, eventhoug I do eat healthy foods maybe it is my medicaiton

      The internet is a wierd place either champions go to the same channels or people are lying. For example I recently heard only 3% or people who hit the gym can bench 225 yet it seems like everyone online can bench 315. Than everyone talks about losing 100 ibs on keto yet I only met one person who lost weight on keto and I only ever met one person who tried fasting yet everyone online has done 20 30 plus days fasting. Anyways I eat like a tablespoon of electrolytes a day while fasting like a teaspoon of baking soda and a quarter teaspoon of sea salt and potassium chloride I do the salt twice a day plus like half a gram of magnesium. electrolytes help with dehydration, which while fasting makes me hungrier. I never made it a week fasting. I have eaten a meal every other day for a month once I lost a lot of weight.

      @@josephdillon9698I’ve lost 45 pounds on keto, and now do a carnivore diet. My longest fast was 38 days. Ha. Just kidding. Longest fast was 5 days.

    I like the dry fast 3 to 5 days every couple of months its so much easier than water fasting for me.
