Ep. 285: Weighing Yourself

Weighing yourself can feel calm and easy. In this episode of the Get Your GOAL podcast, I’m sharing the simple process that will change your relationship with the scale.
You’re on board with the idea of how mindset work or journaling *might* be helpful for losing weight. But weighing yourself? It’s hard, it feels terrible, and if you could just throw away your scale, you definitely would.
I hear from clients all the time that they hate to weigh themselves because the daily fluctuations drive them crazy, or they feel like the numbers just mess with their heads.
You feel really good about your eating and exercising and water and sleep, but then you get on the scale and your weight is up, or it’s still the same, and all of a sudden it’s like everything you’ve been doing is all for nothing.
If this is you, you’re in the right place. Today, we’re taking a deep dive into the topic of WEIGHING YOURSELF, and I’m sharing exactly how to make peace with the scale once and for all.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
– WHY weighing yourself feels awful
– HOW your brain sees the number on the scale, and
– WHAT to do right now to feel better about weighing yourself

Weighing yourself can feel awful, especially with lots of fluctuations! I always think it has to do with what i ate the day before, and try to figure out what I did wrong!!! Will drive myself crazy!!!!
Wow,great information i never even thought of. 😊
I don’t fluctuate very much, I just stay within the same 1-1.5 pound range for 2-3 weeks …. and then boom, it goes down & stays there for the next 2-3 weeks. I average a loss of about -3 lbs a month though. I can see that my brain sucks at analyzing data. I have been going back 4-6 weeks to calculate my average progress. If I look at day-to-day data, it looks like nothing is happening!! 😅 I totally catch myself having these thoughts that cause the yucky feelings, but I’m being very good about not eating less &/or exercising more to try to make it go faster. That doesn’t mean I don’t FEEL the frustration though. This was helpful & I listened to it twice! Everything you share is helpful in some way to me Pahla – thank you!! ❤😊👍🏻💗👏🏻🐝❤️
Came back from vacation was finally under 145. Like 144.2. One day after being home was back up to 149.8 so discouraging. I say all those things to myself. So frustrating.
