Thanks Dr. Erkberg for the wonderful information. I have a little question in the tea that is safe during fasting. In my cuture, we are drinking artichoke tea (dried artichoke in a little teabag) to promote good sleep. Even without adding sugar, artichoke tea always have a earthie tangy sweetness. So i wonder if it is ok to drink during fasting.

Does injecting insulin to release throughout the day cause prevention of autophagy while doing intermittent fasting?

@J N No, if there are 100,000 likes, there will always be % of dislikes that are selected purely by mistake. It’s a statistical probability.

    • J N on October 11, 2022 at 5:51 am

@Shiba Sama yes, you might be right. there should be more dislikes due to statistical probability. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I started the Keto diet in March of this year. I immediately stopped sugar and flours, including ground provisions. I walk for 1.5 hours 5 days per week, since September 2020. I went from a size 14 to a size 10. The pain in my left knee is gone and the pain in my right hand is also gone (I was diagnosed with arthritis). I sleep better, my skin is looking younger and have more energy. I’m 61 years old, and this is my lifestyle from now on. I eat twice daily: 11 am and 6pm. Watching Dr. Sven’s videos makes everything more understandable.

@The Marine Abroad share details please on pecan milk, what do you use it in. I just drink water and eat a pecan.

    • The Marine Abroad on September 17, 2022 at 8:20 am

@maureen green soak the pecans in water, drain the brown/orange water, put nuts in blender w 64oz of water.
add a cup of coconut water for flavor, potassium and other electrolytes, and maybe a square of dark chocolate every once in a while =)

    • m on September 24, 2022 at 8:34 am

When do you walk? After dinner?

    • The Marine Abroad on September 24, 2022 at 1:17 pm

@m you wanna go walking after you eat yeah, that drowsy feeling you get, you will get you blood pumping and it will ward that off
you only need to go for 10min, but the more active you are, the better (you know that)

So true! When you think of the cost of drinking the other things, it’s not worth it. It’s not about depriving oneself, it’s about prioritizing the later over instant gratification.

    • Kyxx It on November 8, 2022 at 1:44 pm

@Jesus Martinez I know, right? Our bodies replace our cells with new cells on a regular basis. They use the food we feed ourselves to do that. So how could we possibly develop healthy cells from donuts and soda? We need high quality foods

    I’m in my mid 50’s 5’7” 268 lbs.
Thank you for all your great knowledge and tips, I’ve shared your videos with friends and family. Early December my blood labs came back OK, but my sugar level was high for fasting overnight. Yes, I was told by my doctor I was pre-diabetic. So, I got serious and started to research on the healthiest way to successfully lose weight. I discovered your videos, amongst others, and thought yours to be most informative for my goals. I’ve successfully in a healthy comfortable way burned 42 pounds so far. Changed what I eat, fasting 18-20 hours every day, NO SUGAR or CARBOHYDRATES except one Stevia packet with my two coffees per day, three to four cups of water daily, and 30-45 minutes of gym cardio/workouts five days/week and educating myself has worked for me. I’ll update you when I get my weight down to 230lbs.
    Thanks again!

    • autumn conway on November 15, 2022 at 5:01 am

@God is coming God is coming it isn’t a sugar substitute. It is not artificial. Stevia is a leaf. Although it is usually processed it is not artificial.

I have been doing intermittent fasting for nearly 2 months. I swear by it! Together with 4 days a week(45-60 mins) at the gym. Magical!

  15. Eswar Bala on July 23, 2022 at 3:50 am

Just a quick comment on measuring blood sugar before and after diet soda consumption – I’ve found the home measurement devices to already vary by up to 15 point by just measuring back to back within seconds. Not sure how useful this last tip would really be.
Now, with the criticism out of the way, amazing video. Thank you as always. Grateful for your channel.

  16. Tammy Leon on October 27, 2022 at 11:59 am

The best channel to answer questions you have regarding health! I am on my second fast thanks to Dr. Ekberg. First time I did 2 days intermittent fasting and began water fasting for 5 days to break the insulin resistance and help autoimmune/thyroid issues. I lost 10 pounds and felt amazing. My husband lost 15! 4 weeks later I am on it again and have lost 5 more pounds. I was having UTI/kidney pain so goal was to get into autophagy and get rid of infection. Looking forward to getting to my goal weight and having better health! Thanks to Dr. Ekberg and a cousin who sent me his video! ❀

  17. Chris on November 22, 2022 at 1:23 pm

Thank you for this video, Dr Ekberg. My 18:6 fasting period involves only 1-3 cups of coffee with just half and half. I have received mixed results on half and half on intermittent fasting. I choose half and half with no sugar. But I worry that it will interrupt my fasting period. I use maybe 1-2 tbsp per cup. Im hoping you can shed light on this

  18. 45graham45 on December 5, 2022 at 11:04 pm

Is intermitant fasting a good thing to do for athletes with low body fat & who do not wish to lose weight?

  19. Paul Simpson on December 7, 2022 at 2:57 am

Thanks to Dr. Ekberg for delivering this information in a logical and clear manner … extremely useful and appreciated.

  20. Dave Laneve on December 10, 2022 at 4:50 am

I used to drink a fair amount of soda, but also a lot of water. I then switched to zero calorie soda, now if I crave something carbonated, it is just seltzer water.
