Dr. Berg Goes Carnivore for 2 Weeks

I switched to the carnivore diet for 2 weeks. Here's what happened.

In this video, I’m going to share my opinion of the carnivore diet after following it for 2 weeks. Not everyone does well on the same diet, so it’s important to experiment with different diets to find the right one for you.

Many people do very well on the carnivore diet! The carnivore diet can be very helpful for people with gut issues and autoimmune conditions.

While on the carnivore diet, I ate beef, pork, eggs, seafood, shellfish, and dairy. I discovered that I had been experiencing bloating due to my nut consumption. I didn’t experience any energy changes because I already have high energy.

For the first few days, I didn’t have any bowel movements. This was probably because my gut microbes needed to adjust.

Some people wonder about vitamin C intake on the carnivore diet. When you go on the carnivore diet, your need for vitamin C decreases.

I do not plan to continue the carnivore diet. I will continue eating the same proteins along with salads made from high-quality ingredients. I’ll also consume fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles.

I love to add extra virgin olive oil, parmigiano reggiano, nutritional yeast, and feta cheese to my salads. The calcium in cheese binds to any oxalates that are in your salad, removing them from the digestive system.

I’ll also add berries to my diet, but I won’t be eating any nuts!

I’ve been on the carnivore way of eating for about 18 months now. It has been life changing for me. I was diagnosed with Psoriatic and Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as Fibromyalgia and Hashimotos Disease over the last three decades. I’ve lost nearly 70 pounds but I consider that a bonus to everything else that has happened. I’m now off all medications and all of my inflammation markers are now normal. I feel like I’m getting my life back. I will never go back to eating the Standard American Diet again. I’ll stick with Carnivore….I don’t miss salads….I miss the dressings I used to drench them in.

I am skinny.. even eating a lot. Probably because my job. I don’t know what to do because if I started doing this type of diet I am going to disappear. I will be extremely skinny. I need carbs because my job and workout… I don’t have any health issues.. I ate pretty healthy all my life, but no strictly. I love bread, cookies, fruits, vegetables, good quality pizza. Anyway. So you just eat meat??

In the 70’s, when I was in college, I did the Atkins diet, which is the carnivore diet that you’re speaking of. I lost 50 pounds and it cleared my mind and gave me lots of energy. I would love to get back to it, but getting past the first few days is very difficult for me in my 70s.

    • @Jimbo878 on February 26, 2024 at 1:52 pm

Getting past the first few days is difficult, not as difficult as being in your 70’s and suffering from various ailments, fatigue and lack of clarity.

    • @edennis8578 on February 26, 2024 at 1:54 pm

I did Atkins, too, but it isn’t carnivore. Carnivore doesn’t include any vegetables but Atkins does.

    • @edennis8578 on February 26, 2024 at 1:56 pm

Just to add, I’m 69 and I’m currently on carnivore by default. I discovered that I wasn’t consuming even half the amount of protein that I need, minimum, so I had to increase my consumption of meat, eggs, and fish. I don’t have the house room for anything else.

    • @xmyxymx on February 26, 2024 at 2:44 pm

The Atkins diet is a low-carbohydrate high protein diet that allows for a variety of foods, including meat, poultry, fish, eggs, vegetables, and limited amounts of fats and dairy. It focuses on controlling carbohydrate intake while still incorporating other food groups.
the carnivore diet is an extreme version of a low-carbohydrate diet where only animal products are consumed, such as meat, fish, eggs, and some dairy. It excludes all plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and nuts.

Keto is high fat low carb moderate protein.

Atkins requires particular amounts of protein daily, while on carnivore you just eat as much as you want and when you feel like it.

    • @CarnivoreStork on February 26, 2024 at 2:53 pm

Cut out all processed foods and go on low carb like Dr Berg teaches.
Then for a couple months; do every other day Carnivore.
Do expect toilet problems if you have a fatty liver that is detoxing & moving the sludge out. It’s all part of the process to health. 🎉

    • @ianstuart5660 on February 26, 2024 at 4:01 pm

      @ShinySilverBunny
I do a 6 hour window of eating, between 4 and 10 pm. Fasting strictly the other 18 hours. Combined with a very low carb diet, I’m rarely ever hungry! I can actually do 50 to 80 hour fasts without any major difficulty!

  8. @marmie53 on February 26, 2024 at 1:29 pm

50 year old male. Was on SAD diet my whole life then Vegan diet from age 46 to 48. Felt like I was dying and two years ago at age 48 started the carnivore diet. I feel the best eating ribeye, ground elk, ground hamburger, eggs, bacon, butter, salt, San Peligrino, and two cups black coffee in the morning. So that’s all I eat. I reversed these health issues. Pre diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, lost 70pounds, brain fog, depression, anxiety, joint paint throughout whole body. I started keto through learning from Dr Berg and felt great but quickly switched to the carnivore diet and feel even better.

You should try the carnivore for 90 days. I did keto for years with IF. Lost weight and felt good, but would still always want sugar. Switched to carnivore and now when I’m around people eating the junk food I don’t want it, and it doesn’t make my mouth water anymore smelling the carbs. Also I found it’s a lot easier to build muscle and lose fat.

    • @madj7152 on February 26, 2024 at 3:48 pm

I did it for 2days. I ate only steak on the 1st day. On the 2nd day ate the same steak in the afternoon and went out with my family for dinner in a restaurant, I bought them food and let them eat. I didnt even want to touch anything. I just watched them eat. 😂 The cravings were gone.. im not even feeling hungry. The bloating is gone as well. The only problem with this WOE is i do get very very skinny very fast if i dont eat any carbs.. i want to be healthy but i still want to look good and not look sick.

    • @jayc5756 on February 26, 2024 at 5:36 pm

Elaborate why is that. Because my biggest issue is my sweet tooth cravings. I know how to limit it on certain diets….but the days I go super no carbs or sugar, I still have those cravings.

As far as I know…based on what I see, the Keto diet doesn’t seem too off from this carnivore diet that he did…just not much salads and stuff. So I’m confused how that took away your sweet tooth cravings and stuff.

    • @usernameisunavailable8270 on February 26, 2024 at 7:01 pm

@@madj7152Yes! Between being in ketosis where fat is used as fuel, fasting, AND exercising daily, we can lose too much fat. Women, for example automatically need a slightly higher fat percentage according to our biology. We can’t get as lean as men Being too low fat can mess with our hormones and have a lot of negative health effects. Plus some people are just so naturally slim that they have the goal of eating more food just to gain weight.

After about 6 weeks on the WOE she says they just went away. This is a woman that has been on diets her entire adult life and even had gastric bypass 15yrs ago. We are so blessed to find this WOE, even in our 50’s.
