If you want to get people to eat healthier, then you need to make a bag of apples cheaper than a bag of M&Ms

    • @KevFromTally on February 8, 2024 at 6:38 pm

That’s the thing. They don’t care. They’ll make money off of drugs, hospital stays and grave plots.

    • @SuperJupiter33 on February 8, 2024 at 6:57 pm

I am going to assume you are joking …apples are way cheaper !

    • @davidcardinal3654 on February 8, 2024 at 7:06 pm

Try eating a bag of apples. Try eating a bag of m&m’s. Bet you eat 3 apples and are nearly full. Bet if you wanted to you can eat several bags of M&m’s. Apples are actually filling and have some nutrition, m&ms dont.

Yup, every year, the produce section at my local supermarket gets smaller. It’s ironic, I live in one of the most abundant and diverse produce producing parts of the world, yet, it’s hard to find that produce at the local grocery store, it’s all funneled to fancy restaurants.

    • @The_DC_Kid on February 8, 2024 at 7:06 pm

And then all those fancy, high-falutin’ “Rich People Restaurants” in The Big City charge $85 for a tiny salad. Makes me so mad I wanna throw my drink across the room.

Healthy food is expensive. Do you know the percentage of fully employed people that have to visit food banks because they can’t afford any food after the cost of living keeps skyrocketing. 😅

    • @GenXRanter on February 8, 2024 at 6:48 pm

No it isn’t. If you’re willing to do the cooking it’s much cheaper.
For example, 4 cans of various veggies and 2 lbs of a cheap cut of beef. Slice up the beef, throw in the veggies a two beef bullion cubes, then simmer and season to taste. Healthy dish for less than $3 a serving.

    • @rob.abroad1522 on February 8, 2024 at 6:56 pm

@@GenXRanter 1 in 8 US households struggle to feed their family and have food insecurity. In Canada it’s also gone up in recent years. I used to always prepare every meal, blend, etc. but it was way more expensive than a TV dinner or canned food.

    • @dontfit6380 on February 8, 2024 at 7:11 pm

Yet I’m betting those people at the food bank all have smart phones, big screen TV’s and cable or satellite. Choices we all have choices.

Think if more people realized and implemented the health benefits of the diet you promote. What it would do to food and medical industries.

    That’s why you’ll catch hate.

I love food but as I age I’m loving feeling and looking good, better.

  17. @The_DC_Kid on February 8, 2024 at 6:55 pm

So how big is YOUR garden, and how long do you spend preparing the soil and moving your irrigation system around daily, and what sort of pesticides and fertilizer do you use, and how long does it take to harvest, process, and preserve everything and prep the ground for next year? I’ll be waiting for your reply, Farmer/Dr Berg. In the meantime, don’t forget to milk, (twice per day), feed the chickens, collect eggs, and slop the hogs.

  18. @dragossorin85 on February 8, 2024 at 7:31 pm

Indeed processed food is very bad, some products can’t be sterilized with hight temperature so you don’t want to know what’s used to sterilize it, this is from the stand point of safety, from nutrition stand point it’s also bad depending what you eat

  19. @karenreaves3650 on February 8, 2024 at 7:43 pm
