Zuppa di Fagioli (White Bean & Kale Soup) recipe:

This video isn’t meant to treat any condition. Speak to your doctor about diet changes if you are experiencing chronic inflammation or any other health issues. These are just 5 foods that I eat every day that may help reduce inflammation in the body. The key is not to eat only these foods, but to make sure you’re eating a balanced plant-based diet that is made up of mostly unprocessed and unrefined foods like veggies, fruits, legumes, nuts, and whole grains.

As someone dealing with more than one autoimmune condition, thank you for this video 💖

    • Norma Elaine Whyte on May 22, 2021 at 8:45 am

Actually, I honk ALL oils, including olive oil shud be eliminated. Drs Neal Barnard, from the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine and Dr Brooke Goldberg and Dr John McDougall who are experts in this area, all testify to this. Otherwise, great information. Thank you so much for your recipes. I have been following you for a while.

    • Norma Elaine Whyte on May 22, 2021 at 8:47 am

Eliminate ALL OILS @Emily Van Hook. Please check out Dr Brooke Goldner

    • JT on May 22, 2021 at 10:57 pm

All of these foods are super inflammatory compared to animal foods, not to mention severely lacking in every facet except maybe Vitamin C. Good luck to anyone with an autoimmune condition incorporating these foods into their diet in any significant amount…

Watch Dr Berrys videos, he’s very informative on reversing or stopping any issues going on in the body. #carnivore #ketovore

Hello Emily, how are you doing?

  3. afrikurl on December 12, 2020 at 5:22 am

My daughter had an issue with inflammation. Her pediatrician said that it was a ling term condition. We cleaned up our eating (whole food vegan) and one week later, she has no pain from the inflammation. (Can’t believe you left out tumeric 😀)

    • Amber Elson on November 8, 2021 at 1:05 pm

Turmeric also contains oxalates, which can cause people who are prone to kidney stones, to develop them.

    • afrikurl on November 8, 2021 at 10:17 pm

@Amber Elson thank you and the other people who responded. I did not know this information. It made me do some research. I appreciate you all:

    • Amber Elson on November 8, 2021 at 10:51 pm

@afrikurl you’re very welcome! I love Turmeric, but had to stop using it so much, when my Urologist mentioned that it can cause kidney stones.

    • Esther on January 7, 2022 at 7:12 pm

@Amber Elson put little black pepper

    • kelly b on January 12, 2022 at 12:38 am

@Amber Elson So glad I read this and looked it up- I just loaded up on the shots and was telling my kidney stone prone husband to drink them lol! Not now!

i’ve definitely noticed it becoming more of a savory breakfast girl. i use to love sweet breakfasts but savory breakfast has been spot on

  5. GM on December 13, 2020 at 2:16 am

I’m glad you mentioned eating soup for breakfast sometimes. Most of the time I will eat whatever leftovers or meal prep savory dish before I ever reach for oats or whatever sweet thing for breakfast. I can’t help it; my savory tongue is just much stronger!

    • anherb on August 23, 2022 at 12:31 pm

Savory oatmeal! I usually do turmeric and some other spices and some veggies and protein in my oats when I need something fast and easy.

  6. Chris McDade on December 13, 2020 at 5:41 pm

Thank you for this video, I have RA and Fibromyalgia. I watch your videos and I am inspired by your cooking techniques. What’s your opinion on textured sunflower 🌻 protein? I typically use Organic Sunflower Hache as a ground beef replacement, and I’m interested in knowing if this is an ok thing to do. Thank you!

  7. Evan Kiss on December 13, 2020 at 8:49 pm

Yes! I have incorporated so many of these habits into my daily meals. I have problems with inflammation, and the things I find helpful are adding hemp/flax and turmeric to oatmeal, fresh ginger in dinner meals, turmeric lattes (cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, plant milk, maple syrup), snacking on pumpkin seeds and unsalted roasted nuts, juicing (celery, carrot, lemon, ginger), olive oil drizzled on pasta, making black bean and walnut “meatballs” to accompany carb heavy pasta meals, consciously eating more protein, and pineapple. Pineapple is my savior, I have sinus issues too, and since they’re anti-inflammatory and immune boosting, I notice such a difference when I go a week without. Also, yeah cutting out certain foods like sugar, processed junk, fried food, allergens (peanut butter, soy), and gmos with glyphosphate. I can’t eat whole foods brand oatmeal, but the costco glyphosphate-free one or bob’s red mill work great for me. Sorry to be so long-winded, but in case anyone else stumbles across this looking for any more tips! Thank you for this video 💙

@Walking by faith It’s ALL the lectins you need to avoid , gluten is just one. Avoid all grains except brown rice , which you can sprout.

    • Simply Sarell on June 29, 2022 at 12:55 pm

This is great information actually. I was diagnosed with a immune disorder, and had my spleen removed a few years ago. Due to my job(I work in a preschool with toddlers) I’m constantly sick. I definitely need a lifestyle change. I think I’ll try that turmeric latte!

I so needed to see this video. I am recently coming off off a Ketogenic diet to Plant based, and have suffered from acid reflux , and a slew of digestion issues.Thank you very much for this very informative guide. Definitely subscribing to you’re channel. ☺

    • YaShara Lynch on January 15, 2021 at 4:37 pm

Checkout Black Keto girl on IG (KENDRA). She is amazing, she teachers you all about healthy keto and will help you adapt it to any diet! You can definitely do Keto and be vegan 🙂 It’s all about macros. I’m on the journey to doing both. I did keto for awhile, now I want to be more plant based. On healthy keto I didn’t eat a lot of dairy or meat. Between this channel and Kendra you will be a fat burning, vegan eating Queen lol!

    • Cynthia Fuentes on March 19, 2022 at 4:10 am

My (female) doctor told me that women should never do keto — it messes up our hormones. I switched from keto to plant-based and not only lost stubborn weight but lowered my blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.

  9. enchantress7 on December 18, 2020 at 2:07 am

I love your videos! I love how you explain everything and make plant based eating accessible. Thank you so much for your work here on your channel! You rock!

Use Castro Oil patches for your tummy. Look it up on YouTube, unfortunately I had a stupid hysterectomy before I knew about all the holistic ways to deal with it and because I was, ignorant, I dove first into a major surgery that was not necessary. 🥺 I wish you the best 🌟

    • Courtney Anese on February 17, 2021 at 9:01 pm

@Jessie Romero I’m so sorry to hear that. Thank you so much. I hope that you are well ❤️

    • Pattiesd on March 13, 2021 at 6:31 pm

THANK YOU THANK YOU! I just came upon this video, loaded with helpful info. It let me know that I am on the right track. A month ago I started on a plant based journey. I am 63 & I just wanted to feel better, get rid of all the pain in my body, so I did my research. I have incorporated all what you shared here & I am feeling so much better, pain is greatly reduced. On Sundays I roast a bunch of vegetables for the week with a green salad on the side. To be honest we’re not missing the meat. Keep up the great work.

Love your videos, but confused about oil? Plant docs say oil is bad and inflammatory! Especially for the heart?
