I have been intermittent fasting for years, my blood sugar is still going up, my weight won’t drop, I struggle to fall and stay asleep, and I am exhausted all day. I feel like I’m at my wits end

    • @sandragambrel9721 on March 23, 2024 at 3:00 pm

You won’t lose weight by intermittent fasting if you don’t change the kind of foods you eat. I gave up breakfast years ago, fasting, and giving that time to Bible study, and meditation, but, never lost weight. Most of my life I weighed 200-210 lbs. Pre-diabetic.

I lost weight when I gave up soda/pop, bread, pasta, foods with added sugar, highly processed foods, and snacking. Went down to 129 lbs in no time, eating the healthiest foods I had ever eaten. I went Keto.

My doctor wanted me at 140, and I wanted to be at 130, so, I compromised, I got back up to 135, and stayed there. But, to keep from losing more weight, I switched to dirty Keto. Which is where I live now, except over the past holidays I went overboard on carbs, and gained 7 lbs. lol.

To get it off, I will have to take drastic measures, and cut out either the pasta, or, potatoes, or, bread, or, all three for a while, again. Bread, and potatoes, are the hardest things to live without, for me, lol. I mean, seriously, how can you eat a sandwich without two pieces of bread? Chaffels didn’t cut it for me. You find low carb wraps, or, eat a lot of open face, pretend sandwiches. I use that word, pretend, a lot. I have two five year old grandchildren, and I’ve learned to pretend again, lol.

I also call on God to help me shop, and prepare healthier meals. I’m amazed with myself. I’m finally learning to cook healthy meals at 68. If I can do it, anybody can!!! May God be with you in your challenge to lose weight.

It does involve more prep work, though. And with my back, and neck, pain, I’m going to invest in a food processor, or, some type of chopping device, lol. I’m having fun learning how to cook foods in a slow cooker, air fryer, and stuff. Oh, and I forgot to say, on Keto, you lose your appetite, and lose joint pain. At least most. My back and neck hurts, no matter what I do. I have herniated discs in my neck, and I handle that pain with neck exercises that actually help.

I hope this encourages you to take drastic steps. It’s worth it. You don’t have to mistreat yourself when it comes to eating, just manage what you eat more carefully. Be blessed, amen!!!

Several things need to be addressed. You need proper nutrition where you are getting all the nutrients your body needs from foods that are healthy for you. Consider taking supplements from Life Extension or Garden of Life brands. They have their own websites which you can Google.
It is very important for you to reduce stress and relax and meditation can do this. Meditate every day for 5 minutes at least. Especially good if you can do it first thing upon awakening. Go for a walk every day for 20 minutes or more. Get at least 20 minutes of strong sunshine every day. Get sunshine in the early morning for at least 5 minutes. Look up yoga nidra on youtube. It doesn’t involve physical movement and it helps people to get good sleep.

Fasting gets rid of doctors 😂

Muslims trade days for night which mess up the biological watch, the circadian hour. First morning meal is called BREAKFAST, meaning break the fast as people do not eat while sleeping. Then what this people are talking about. Intermittent fasting does coincide with biological watch unless otherwise, it is not intermittent fasting but trading days for nights or specific hours for another specific hours.

    Fasting is biblical.

  13. @mikeghafoori8227 on March 23, 2024 at 4:07 pm

Very cool nice way to explain thank you ❤

  14. @jadedixon3641 on March 23, 2024 at 5:06 pm

Yep. For 3 weeks out of the month I do OMAD 3 days a week, 16:8 another 3 days, and a day of 3 meals. If I’m not stressed and getting enough sleep I’ll make an OMAD day into a 36 hour fast. But when I become ravenous I check the calendar, usually happens a week before my period, and at that point I cut back on fasting and load up on protein. I crave potato chips at that time but I swap it out for homemade beef jerkey that I can’t stop eating.
