Great video, very informative. Only two things I would love to see you make vegan … baked bread and cheese sauces. Thank you! 👍 😊

Awesome video. Looks so delicious. Too many people are intimidated by cooking. They need to just do it. This is a good start. Vegan food is the best and needs to be shared with everyone.

I love that red lentil curry and have made it so many times. I also love the tofu scramble although I’ve never had black salt to give it that eggy flavor but plan to try it some day. Jenné, thank you for all the joyful inspiration 😊🖖

Also, smoothies. I have smoothies almost everyday. You are right having good salads makes a big difference. I have a Mexican salad, Asian salad, Etc. Also, with great dressings. Asian tahini dressing, Asian miso dressing, spicy Chipotle tahini dressing, Etc. I have a great lentil chili. You have inspired me now I need to look for some good vegan stews!

    • Meaghan Fay on February 2, 2020 at 10:52 pm

Mark Frazier I love peanut butter! I’m not a fan of almond butter but I had some on hand and I used it in a kale and apple smoothie and it was amazing! I was blown away.

    • Meaghan Fay on February 2, 2020 at 11:01 pm

Mark Frazier same here. I soak them before hand :)?

    • SweetPotatoSoul on February 4, 2020 at 3:48 am

      You’ve got me drooling!

    • Shoshi Platypus on August 14, 2020 at 12:50 pm

Mark Frazier Smoothies are OK occasionally, but it’s much better for you to eat the ingredients whole rather than processing them first. Let your body do the work processing them!

    • HonestInquiry on October 3, 2020 at 11:15 pm

@Mark Frazier Peanut Butter + Frozen Bananas and Wild Blueberries is an amazing combo

    • Love Yourself Influencer on April 15, 2020 at 7:08 pm

I agree(Lol) I also been cooking like this for over 4 years and this video is very informative

  8. Constance Bailey on February 1, 2020 at 8:34 pm

Love the simplicity of your stuff. As a busy mom of 3 who is working 2 jobs, often my “excuse” for not incorporating a greater variety of plant based dishes is the time factor, but most of this looks like one evening of meal prep for the week. 2 questions-other than an instant pot, what kitchen items would you suggest for making home prep easier-I remember one video suggested a grinder for breaking down your own flaxseed. I might just add one item at a time but I’d love to hear your top 5 kitchen gadgets or something similar. Also, is your “chicken” and waffle recipe linked anywhere? I’d love to try that recipe.

Just found your channel and I’m SO happy I did!! I feel re-inspired to make the commitment to veganism. Can’t wait to dive in and check out all your other videos as well! 😋

  10. Hello Green on May 15, 2020 at 12:46 pm

Wonderful vegan ideas. Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve been vegan and gluten free for almost a year and this inspired me to start a cooking YouTube channel and share all the recipes I come up with. It was challenging to be vegan at first but I realized how my health is getting better so now my goal is to help others and bring value to their lives.

  15. Shoshi Platypus on August 14, 2020 at 12:44 pm

Great video! I’m doing most of this already, and I’m certainly going to follow this up and check your links etc for more ideas – always looking to expand my repertoire! One thing I don’t do is cook with any oil. You can dry sauté in a good non-stick sauté pan, just adding a dash of water to deglaze the pan periodically when things start to stick. Oil is extremely calorie dense and does not help with weight loss of maintaining a healthy weight. You can get all the natural healthy fats you need from avocados, nuts, seeds etc etc. I get all my olive oil when I eat olives! Whole foods are best, no processing. Another thing – I cook my beans in my electric pressure cooker and I have a chart for cooking times for both soaked and unsoaked beans. They take a bit longer unsoaked, but they come out perfect and you don’t need the extra trouble of soaking them overnight. I just rinse them really well under cold running water, pop them in the pot with a good amount of filtered water, set the timer and leave it to do its thing. I then dump them back out into the colander and rinse them through again. I freeze 1 1/2 cup sized portions so when a recipe calls for a can of whatever beans, I just take out one pack. I do this with rice, too, batch cooking a big pot full and freezing it in double sized portions for me and my hubby. All I need to do is just pour boiling water through the rice and it’s ready. If you cook pasta, rice and other carbohydrate-rich foods and then cool them, and reheat them later, a miracle of chemistry takes place and converts the starch to resistant starch which has a very low glycemic index and slower transit time through the gut. I always use whole grain pasta and brown rice.

Learning about nutrition, and cooking from scratch, is soooo much fun! In my late 60s I never thought I’d be starting a whole new culinary journey or that my pantry would be completely gutted and restocked with such amazing whole foods. I just love it. My weekly grocery delivery looks like a harvest festival, and I regularly order whole-foods (legumes, seeds, nuts, grains etc) in bulk online. Both my hubby and I have lost a lot of weight, and his blood pressure and cholesterol levels have plummeted to normal (the doctor said it was like looking at the results of a completely different person), and he’s well on the way to abandoning his CPap machine for sleep apnoea. We shan’t be going back to animal products any time soon!!

Love love your channel!! I ordered some bars you recommended! Thanks for the discount code ❤️ could you make a video on how to make tempeh from scratch? Or maybe you already have one? Thanks 🌱

  17. Chef Dan, Almost Vegan on August 29, 2020 at 9:23 am

You got me at massaging kale. Your whole take on salads is amazing. I am trying to incorporate at least 1 salad diner per week. It’s a real simple and delicilus way to keep my “Almost Vegan” life style. Also, I’ve tried to make fat fre salad dressings, but felt there was something missing . . . the fat. I love the idea of using tahini. It’s got fat, but it also has a lot of nutrition, and great creaminesss.Love your video and will definately subscribe and watch more. Thanks.

  18. marie on September 24, 2020 at 7:39 pm

i’ve been contemplating on being on the vegan journey and making it a lifestyle BUT i’ve taken all the strength to start it. my body has been crying for it and i’m grateful i found your channel and even your website ❤️

  19. Lizette Williams on October 22, 2020 at 12:58 am

New subscriber here, hubby and I are starting to change our eating lifestyle. I’m glad I found your page and will definitely be learning a lot watching your videos. Jumping in one foot at a time, not ready for the tofu and other things just yet.

  20. Judy Reyes on March 7, 2021 at 5:28 pm

Love my Instant Pot for beans, but definitely soak them when you can. Makes for less gas as well as allows your body to absorb more of the nutrients. Sprouting your lentils is important too, if you can! Also, ditching the oil from your diet is a sure guarantee to guard your heart from heart disease, which is still the #1 killer, world wide…600k in the US every year!!! There are some great recipes for oil free dressings!! Love the buddha bowls!!! You have some great ideas and your advise is so helpful! You make it easy!! I have been whole food plant based for 8 years and when I eat like this I feel amazing! Thanks for the inspiration!
