Let's talk about liver detoxification and how to protect your liver from toxins.

Your liver is the main detoxification organ in the body, but the kidneys, small intestine, skin, and fat cells can also help get rid of toxins.

There are so many various toxins in our environment that we're exposed to every day. Certain chemicals can potentially throw off hormonal pathways, negatively affect DNA, lead to diseases, and cause oxidation and free-radical damage.

We must be aware of these chemicals and toxins and reduce exposure to them while increasing our ability to detoxify them.

The best natural methods to protect your liver and help detoxify the body:
1. Get a good air filter
2. Grow certain house plants to help soak up chemicals
3. Spend time in nature
4. Get a good water filter
5. Consume wild-caught fish
6. Consume organic vegetables or wash your vegetables with apple cider vinegar and water
7. Use chemical-free beauty products
8. Avoid canned foods
9. Consume cruciferous vegetables and herbs
10. Consume grass-fed, grass-finished meat
11. Consume B vitamins
12. Get plenty of essential minerals, like selenium
13. Consume probiotic foods
14. Do fasting
15. Get plenty of exercise

    Dr Berg,
I have some autoimmune issues and I am trying to heal them naturally. I have completely come off of gluten, sugar and dairy. I don’t take any kind of vitamin D, and I want to start taking some. How much vitamin K should I take for every 1000 IUS of vitamin D??

Thanks in advance for the response.

    • Tyler Betthauser on January 7, 2023 at 11:16 am

Not sure off top of my head the required ratio, but there are liquid versions of vitamin D3 and K2 that are pre mixed for you.

    • buyerbware25 on January 7, 2023 at 11:18 am

      Dr. Berg’s website sells a K2-D3 supplement.

    • Noah D on January 7, 2023 at 1:19 pm

Get it only from natural sources like cod liver oil because the unnaturals deprive you of vit a. I had eye issues and After I got off the vitd my eyes got better. Pls if you buy supps then they should be from Natural sources

❣ – Great video! Dr. Berg please talk to us about: If you have hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), you may have been told to avoid cruciferous vegetables — such as kale, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts. These vegetables have been shown, in certain situations, to interfere with how your thyroid gland uses iodine. YOU HAVE TO STEAM OR COOK THEM…

    • Katerina Papasarantou on January 7, 2023 at 2:10 pm

Kale is high in raffinose, a carbohydrate that is difficult to digest, I don’t eat it plus unless you add spices and dressings it is yuck. As for the rest you mentioned, and in general, it’s bio individuality. Lots of variables. Best for everyone to see what works and what doesn’t instead of generalizing it. However in cases of hypothyroidism, the cruciferous “have been thought” to affect the thyroid, when consumed in high quantities. Test don’t guess. Lab tests quarterly and you will have all your answers. Cruciferous veggies helps in metabolizing estrogen, I always suggest small portions in the menu to the clients I work with 😊

Dr Berg, farm question here. What kind of grass do Your cows eat? Do you feed them anything else, like range pellets, hay, etc? What is the ideal size and weight for butchering? Thanks for all you do to get us healthy.

    • Robert Johnson on January 7, 2023 at 5:32 pm

He said two weeks ago in his Friday live broadcast that they are pastor fed, grass and any weeds or bushes that grow there.
      Marketing: Better Than Grass Fed.

Not a bizarre thought at all Dr Berg. It’s a Fabulous thought to go into nursing homes to encourage the elderly that eating CLEAN goes to bat for any person. My mother at age 86 lives on her own, still drives, has not changed a bit. She’s a great example that yes eating healthy thinking healthy and stress free, no meds, no alcohol no smoking is the bomb. I’m that girl just like my mom. Amazing amazing

    • Brian Morgan on January 7, 2023 at 3:21 pm

Unfortunately, easier said than done. I’d recommend starting a conversation with the administrator of a nursing home of a free(er) state of the union. Not just one administrator but many. The nursing staff needs to be involved and excited about the experiment. Then you need to involve the family of the elderly residents. The last thing you and the administrator needs is a lawsuit in the event of an adverse reaction or negative outcome. I am happy for you and your mom but statistics are statistics. Not every person will react positively. Most will enjoy a large positive impact, others not so much, and some may react adversely to it. It’s the famous Bell Curve in action. It is easy to get caught up in the fallacy that says if it worked for me then it will work for you. I’ve also seen the reverse where someone has an adverse reaction, and then lectures everyone within earshot of the great harm and devastating consequences. Unfortunately it’s human nature.

Well done Cheryl, continue the brilliant work! Hope you and your mum stay safe and healthy.

Fantastic! and this is coming from an 83 year young who just started a new adventure by changing into the Lifestyle of KETO and doing intermitted fasting from day one. Not 3 weeks yet but I already noticed many changes. I think of the body as a House and I am renovating this house from bottom up!
Be well and have fun. Elizabeth.

Hi Dr. Berg- would you mind addressing how to take supplements without damaging organs? Should you alternate days or skip certain vitamins. Sometimes I feel like I am taking too many.

    • Tee Kay on January 7, 2023 at 3:32 pm

Great question. Just recently found out how dirty so many vitamins are – fillers, coloring, binding chemicals. I’m trying to avoid all of those things due to nfld.
